I'm a total whore for the Soviet Bleak aesthetic but I'm keeping my optimism for this in check.  I don't need this to be my Cyberpunk of hype disappointment.

This is the right answer.  It looks creepy and unsettling which is just what it needs to be.  Also awesome to see the "Russian Woodpecker" at the 4:25 mark.  (Its a cold war era over the horizon ballistic missile detection radar.  It had to be built close to Chernobyl due to its power requirements, which were enormous.)

You and me both. I remember playing Test Drive Unlimited on my 8800 GTS and having the time of my life. Put a decent amount of time into NFS Hot Pursuit and Burnout Paradise, too. Now all I wanna do is play American Truck Simulator and drive at the speed limit.

Anyways, I know the original Shift was pretty well-regarded when it came out. No idea about the sequel or the others.

Shift was so well regarded that its sequel dropped the NFS tag and EA had hopes of making it into its version of Forza or Gran Turismo.

It had a cockpit view that, frankly, as far as I know has never been duplicated as head movement is simulated.

Searching on Steam it looks like my thoughts might be late? I'm not seeing the Need for Speed titles I don't already own. (Minus the ones not getting delisted.)

The sheer number of youtube gaming channels I sometimes watch that are doing Biomutant videos is a pretty good indication that THQ Nordic bribed nearly all of them to give it coverage.  This wasn't a particularly anticipated game.

Going to be honest... What else has come out that is worth covering?

See i feel like this shouldn't be an option if classes mean anything. I wish they would have made pistols more usable instead of making them worse and just making any weapon available. Felt wrong pulling out a sniper rifle as an adept. To run & shotgun i'd expect to, at the very least, need to be vanguard or soldier.

You could do it in second play throughs if you unlocked the right achievements... At least on Xbox.

(So I don't really think the change is that big of a deal for a remaster.)

I'm pretty sure the nba 2k games fairly quickly bottom out to under $3 and/or free and at that point start forcing ingame advertising.

Its also a micro transaction fest with a horrendous grind throughout except for a couple of modes.

If you didn't like the combat in ME before, this likely won't change your opinion. But, with ME:LE I feel like the combat is refined just enough for it to get out of its own way. I remember hating the initial husk encounters on Eden Prime as simple as they are and it was largely well managed this time around.  (I play on insanity for reference.)

I actually enjoyed the combat in the original...  My only real complaint was the frame drops (Played on a 360) which I got to imagine it would have been fixed or the LE wouldn't have came out.  (I would be curious to see the section you have to escape thats being overrun with rachni...  That used to drop frames like crazy.)

These are my two gripes as well, but neither are deal breakers. The cut-scene stuff I doubt can/will be remedied anytime soon. Though, I hope FOV support can be added in sooner rather than later, maybe by modders. I bought the game on Origin, so one less hassle? Yay?

What are your thoughts on the new combat in the first one?

I think I posted this back when I got it but I got the Moderna a few months back...

First shot, no real side effect other than feeling it in my arm. Some pain when touched but it mostly felt like a strained muscle that twinge when moved.

Second shot, holy shit. Felt fine, came home went to sleep like normal, got up didn't feel that bad got to work... Man, I regretted every decision I made in life. Truly awful. I'm shocked I got through my shift. Granted, I wasn't really productive.

Still a 24-36 hour period of feeling bad was worth it.

Is Saints Row 5 really on anyone's "most anticipated" list?

I've enjoyed the hell out of the series, I personally wish they would remaster the orginal for all platforms, so, yes I am... Unless you mean is anyone buying this right after release?

That I'm not. I'll wait for a big sale.

Microsoft is cutting their cut to 12% on PC games only that are sold on their Windows Store:

Ehh, that's pretty much their stuff a P2W mobile ports.

Not seeing a "wrong" opinion on DLC here... I mostly try to buy complete editions of games due to DLC but if there's something I really want I'll jump on it before then... I feel this happens about once or twice a year. If I like it I'll pick up DLC later on to help support the games I really like and which gave me good bang for my buck.

I'm all for 64 bit support but removing support for 32 bit from a game people already bought just seems shitty.

Yeah, it shouldn't effect many but they at least should have a final 32 version that they can download and still play.

Had time but no money, later that flipped the other way around.  Really my backlog didn't get out of control until I fell into the MMO trap.  I kept buying the games that looked interesting when they went on sale but just kept spending all of my free time in an MMO.  And then of course things became ridiculous when I started hoarding stuff on Steam but oh well.

My backlog started in mid/late October of 1996. Even not making a lot as an E1 in the Navy I was hard pressed to spend all of the money I had coming in as I really had no bills to pay.

Years ago I would have said it ruined the game but that is one of the things I am fine with them changing now.  I had a bunch of 99s back then but I also had no backlog and no reason to play anything but Diablo 2 constantly so having to make a new character just to try a different build and spend dozens of hours in the Cow Level to get that character to 99 didn't bother me.

No backlog back in the day?

Its like I don't even know you, man...
