Non-clearance related, but Target related post incoming:
Had an unpleasant experience at Target earlier. I decided to return Iron Man VR I got a couple of weeks ago, because I decided to just wait on the game until it hits sub-$30. I get to the CS counter and the girl looks at the game and then said "I have to get a manager". I looked at her confused and she was like "We've had issues with game returns lately and they need to be approved by a manager first." Okay. So, I waited for a manager and one comes over and she thoroughly inspects the game. I mean, she checked EVERY corner and side to try and find the slightest imperfection on the wrapping. She finally approves the return.
Fast forward about 5 minutes when I'm looking in the games for any possible clearance deals (zero) and the manager comes up to me with the Iron Man VR game opened and she goes "just to let you know, from now on we will be unable to do any video game returns. We've had people coming in with fake copies to return. If you get a fake copy, you will have to contact Microsoft or Sony from here on out. We've been in contact with prosecutors over this." She shows me the disc and it looks normal to me and she explains the inner ring on the games are blank, which this one was clearly not blank.
It felt like I was being accused with the way she found me in the store and even opened the game despite it still being sealed. However, it makes zero sense to stand there to inspect the game to see if it's been open and resealed, only to turn around and open the game anyways. Now the game is unsellable despite the fact it was still brand new when I returned it. So, they are going to prevent people from returning games? What if grandma buys the wrong game for Lil' Jimmy's birthday, she can't return it and is stuck with the game?
lol this happened to me one time with a copy of windwaker hd, the copy i was returning was crushed and part of the shrink wrap was ripped and peeling a bit. the employee asked me what i did to it lol. she proceeds to open the game and inspect it and the disc was in there because it was a new copy. what a rocket scientist she lost the company money. this was at walmart
