Of course it’s a big deal. That’s why Sony did it. They have no obligation to please anyone but their customers. This is the way the world works. Want to play Spider-Man in The Avengers? Buy a PS4 or PS5 and stop crying. Get over yourself. I can’t believe the amount of entitlement dropping from that post. Sony owes you nothing.
If Sony hasn’t allowed SE to put Spiderman in the game then he wouldn’t be there at all. But both SE and Sony know he will move units, which is good for both companies bottom line, and don’t kid yourself. That’s all any multimillion dollar business cares about. Sony doesn’t “care” about their customers. They please them to make more money. Judging by how this last console cycle went, and how The next one is looking, they are going to do it all over again.
I own all systems fir this very reason. Having loyalty to either Microsoft or Sony, two companies that give no shits about you, is a ridiculous. Maybe be pissed at Microsoft for not out bidding Sony on rights to Spider-Man while you’re at it. That’s an equally incredible waste of your time and energy.
Sony only owns the movie rights to Spider-Man and they've owned them since 1999.
Why the hell would a software company (Microsoft) buy movie rights?
Also Spider-Man was just in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 for the Switch.
Maybe do a little homework before YOU waste of your time and energy typing up rants.
