Exactly. From what I understand there’s somewhat of a conspiracy that GameStop higher ups are just trying to inflate numbers of games sold, traded, etc to trick the investors into thinking they’re doing more business. Makes sense to me, only reason they allow this continual profiteering from what I can tell.

I finally got the "cancelled order" email from Gamestop. I am on the bad side of things (received 3 of 4 games - cancelled game was "free"). I did respond by email (I know...chances of hearing back are probably slim). Here's what I said:
Hello.
Thank you for the email.
I purchased four games through the "Buy Two, Get Two Free" deal that you had. The game that you cancelled was listed on my invoice as "free". Therefore you are charging me the full price for 3 games when I am supposed to get four.
Although you state that I will not be charged, I have been FULLY CHARGED for the purchase. This is not acceptable.
Please fix this problem, as advertising B2G2 and then delivering B2G1 at the same price is not okay.
Thank you very much for looking further into this problem.
Overall I am still WAY ahead on this deal but that does not mean I will simply roll over. Imagine how many people ordered games, fell into the same boat as me, and don't even realize they haven't got any money back. My purchase was on trade credit.

So has this ever happened to anyone around holiday for returns? I got shutdown hard today for a return, it was with an original receipt of 4 PS4 games still sealed and everything still within the 30 days. I stopped by to a local GS out of town since I was visiting some relatives. I just told him I wanted to return these, he says "Give me a minute" and proceeded to write down the SKUs of the games and goes into the back with the phone. 5-10 minutes later he comes out with "I just got off the phone with corporate, sorry but I'm unable to take these games back."
This was around closing time, if that matters, the mall was closing a bit late on the west coast. Yes, these were with original receipts (non-gift receipts), and he didn't give me any particular reason why. I asked for a store manager but he wasn't on duty. I did noticed he was an ASL as noted on his name tag.

is that the one by the mall or by 84?Not all Bay Area stores are safe. The one in Newark is closing.
For all the skepticism that people had, I think this is the beginning of "phase 3". Which isn't necessarily a bad thing considering the one thing people mention about Gamestop, aside from the fact that they sell open games as new, is that they have stores right on top of each other. So closing those is probably a good thing if they are trying to stay afloat.

so far all of my orders are getting thru, just one item (free game) was out of stock and cancelled. tried the customer service but no help and instruct me to just to talk to the store employee and explain the situation. probably just gonna have to return the other two games.Any problems ordering for store pick up with TC?
Haven't gotten anything for BF, wanted to pick up a couple things but don’t want to deal with any hassles or having to call CS. Anyone order online for store pick up have any issues?

His source called the corporate firings right down to the days, so he got that right. He says the source called the earlier firings too but he didn't put the info out because he didn't trust the source yet.

the site is redesigned in a way to help customers find the most popular products faster and easier... also since so much of the site traffic comes from smartphones and tablet devices the website uses bigger pictures to make it easier to browse on those... and i understand there were some problems with the site such as the inventory not working at first but that's all been fixed.
