#14299827 XBL Deals - DwG: AC: Odyssey, A Plague Tale, Puyo Puyo Champions, more | Sq...

Playing GTAV and man, do any of these side missions or side games amount to any thing? Like there is either no pay out or the pay out isn't even worth the effort and even then money means nothing in the game because you get all the weapons mostly through missions.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I didn't really like GTA V.  I feel the driving/cop mechanics are boring at best and frustrating as hell at worst (people swerving into you, then you running someone over, then spending 5 minutes trying to lose the cops).  I ultimately gave up because on some mission I chose a path that required a flying license and I got so stuck on one element of the license I quit the game. I did enjoy the concept of the heists and having multiple characters, it just didn't come together for me.

In for $5, but would be great if OP set up a list in the first post of worth while items (perhaps with a spoiler tag?). The search feature on itch is horrible, you'd have to know which specific title name you were looking for just to find it. There's a lot of garb... lesser titles obstructing all the value/hidden gems.

I'm not sure how to do the spoiler tag and don't have time to go through the whole thing but I updated the original post with some of the games that are more well known for those browsing!

im not a pc gamer but what do i have to download to be able to play these games?? and is there a gift card for this site or is it only credit cards they accept?? never played any games without a console before but this just seems like too good of a deal to pass up

I'm not a PC gamer either, I mostly just get the free Epic store games and I get incredibly cheap bundles like these.  I only have a standard desktop but everything in this bundle has worked fine, I don't think you need much computing power to run these games.

This was my first experience with itch.io, but I do not think there are gift cards, I used paypal.  They are DRM free direct downloads, so basically you make a free account with them and then all those games show up in your library with links to download as often as you want.  Its not like Steam or anything like that.

Wow, you don’t value time at all do you? For the extra 3 dollars you want to save you could have been playing the DLC for months and months. Heck, you may never see it at $15

This is how I've started to see things.  As much as I want good deals, I've noticed I often wait so long that I don't care by the time that deal comes along (if it ever does).

I rarely jump on things at full price but waiting years for a couple of dollars that I would spend on on a cup of coffee without thinking twice? No thanks.  Not to criticize those who feel like holding out for deals, I just don't do it anymore.

And that’s why I never got too excited over gamepass. There are three games leaving this month that I wanted to play. I’m not sure I’ll get to now. I have gotten use out of gamepass so I’m not totally against it. I got in on a 2mo/$2 promo and then the 3mo/$1 and then the super sweet ultimate conversion deal. But it always baffles me when people comment that they can trade in a disc copy of a game because it’s coming to gp. And I don’t really think gp is worth it without the insane discounts they’ve been offering people

My feelings are similar to yours on this.  The way I play games (with a huge backlog and very sporadically because of my work schedule), there is no guarantee I'll beat even shorter games very quickly.  That means I usually need longer access to games to actually a) be in the mood for that game b) to actually beat it.  I also cashed in on the sweet conversion deal for Game Pass, but barring that I don't think it would really be my thing.

I'm all about that Legendary Axe life.  A little Splatterhouse never hurt either.

EDIT: SOLD THANK YOU!

I bought too many years of Live from CDKEYS and can't stack anymore.  So I'm selling off a 12 month code for $44 PayPal (six bucks off!).  I know this isn't the trading forum but I figure for this rush of activity its helping someone and relevant :)

I picked up Ape Out and Downwell so far. I’m contemplating Red Strings Club and Katana Zero but I know they will be cheaper and I won’t get to them anytime soon.

“He who throws dirt loses ground.”

Same on Red Strings Club and Katana Zero, I've been eyeing up RSC for a long time and want to support this port but don't really think I'll get to it in the next few months.  Maybe I'll impulse buy at the last minute before the sale end.

Anyone have impressions of Tardy?

It seems cool but it also seems its going to require A LOT of patience.  I just put it right back in the backlog after booting it up- but it still seems like really cool 2D puzzle platforming.

Question for fans of isometric RPGs: What order would you recommend for the list below (these are obviously PS4 versions)?

Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition (the only one in this list I started, though it was some years ago)

Pillars of Eternity

Divinity: Original Sin (+ Original Sin 2)

Torment: Tides of Numenera

Shadows: Awakening

I want to eventually play all of those, but I'd prefer to do so in an ascending-order-of-quality kind of way.

Well I haven't played all of them but Divinity: Original Sin is one of the best games I've ever played, so I guess play it last? But keep in mind its insanely long, I was stunned when at about the 75 hour mark I figured out I was only about half way through.  With that said, since the game has a sequel already, you might want to get to that sooner than later in order to put some buffer between the two.  Can't speak to the rest but they are all in the backlog.

If you have a new 3ds (the one that has the better 3D display) I highly recommend playing a link between worlds with the 3D all the way up. It seems silly for a 2d top down game, but it really makes pitfalls look bottomless and certain enemies and items can pop up towards you. One of the few 3ds games I could play in full 3D the entire time without getting a headache.

Just to follow up on what's been said, there are a number of small references that you'll pick up on if you play A Link to the Past first, as A Link Between Worlds is set after it chronologically (centuries later) and has some callbacks for fans. But they're small and don't impact the story in any meaningful way.

I will say though, that the Oracle games and Link's Awakening are both sequels to A Link to the Past, and you play as the same "Link" - so it's fun to play those in succession to get his complete story. Kinda like Ocarina/Majora.

Thank you guys for the pointers! I actually never play with the 3d on and this is a good reason to actually give it a try.

And thanks for the heads up on the Oracle games, I've always been curious about them because handheld Zelda games seem to have aged exceptionally well.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it's best to buy digital games outside of the Eshop store when they are on sale to get the most coins, right?

Correct, if you buy the code on Amazon or whatever at a discounted price you get the full price worth of coins.  If you buy directly from the eshop you get less coins to reflect the discount.

Thinking of getting a PS4 but I'm not seeing any deals right now on PlayStation Plus...  I assume buying the system gets one some sort of PlayStation Plus for free but does anyone know if that assumption is correct and if so for how long?  (Also if you've seen a deal I'm not seeing please don't hesitate to let me know.)

Edit: And just to confirm also.  Only some games have an additional discount off of PSN right?

Yes to the additional discount during sales on PSN, this alone usually pays for the year of Plus for me.  Can't speak to the free trial of plus though.
