#12447028 dying light ps4 season pass is the actual game

Posted by vickers500 on 27 January 2015 - 10:01 AM

Damn, if only this were a game I wanted.  I'm not much into horror or survival horror games, and I'm even lower on funds than usual, so I can't simply just pull my usual "what the hell, I'll give it a chance" routine, plus I have too many unplayed games as it is.

#12060641 PS4 Infamous Second Son Flash Sale PSN

Its really not worth going digital on this game, you finish in under 20 hours and there isn't much of a reason to do more than 2 or maybe 3 playthroughs - game doesn't change much and its pretty easy at even the hardest setting.  It is definitely a decent game, but not really the kind you are going to say 2 years from now "man, its time to go replay some infamous SS!"

I wish they put out a GOTY disc edition though with SS and the DLC on one disc, i'd buy that in stores and then trade it in when I'm done.

I'm a huge fan of the first two inFamous games, but even I have to agree with you on Second Son.  The game was clearly rushed to launch, not so much in terms of technical issues, but content.  Way shorter than the first two.

Meh day.

Got operation racoon city for 360 for a buck

and this box of PC games for a dollar as well

It did come with Star Wars Force Unleashed for Wii and Rouge Galaxy for gamecube.  Starcraft 2 had a little paper with an email address and password with it, but they didn't work.  Also didn't come with the original game key, just the trials, so I think the guy knew what to take out and what to leave.  I think the older starcraft and diablo games might work since they're older, but I'm not sure, if anyone knows just off the top of their head which of these will work, let me know.  At least it's something though, better than coming home with nothing at all.

Terrible day for me. Not very many sales and most of them are crap. I always like to come home with at least something, so I bought this dirty snes in awful condition with a corner hole of plastic broken off with 2 controllers, and a power supply for a quarter, forgot to look for the video cord for it though.

These Pokemon games are not annoyingly limited as you say, there were plenty of them on the market for a long time, you can't expect Nintendo to keep selling GBA games forever. The price rises on these games because they are genuinely good games and can be played for a long time. I have put at least 100 hours on every single one of my pokemon carts, that is good value for a $40 game.

I kinda meant in comparison to something like a ps2/ps3/xbox 360 game.  There might be a lot out there, but clearly there aren't enough to where the game can be found for cheap.  Plus they don't sell them in stores anymore, despite their supposed wide availability and held value (talking about DS games here, not gba stuff).  I'm not saying they're not worth $40 dollars or whatever, but there are like 14 pokemon games I want, 9 of them I really want (the DS ones), even if I get very lucky and can find each one of the DS games for $20 even, which is highly unlikely, that's still 180 bucks I'd rather not spend on older games that don't have cases/manuals which should be 15-20 max in my opinion (this site has made me really cheap with my game spending habits).

I ask whenever I see a  hint of anything DS related, but if they only have a stack of ps2 games or no games at all, I don't ask.

$4, brand new. Weird looking mouse lol but I bet it's really comfortable.

Awesome find, had to use one of those at my old job, got used to it and it was a pretty fun mouse to use, if I had one I could probably do pretty decently at pc fps games.

Edit:  By the way how are people posting these large images to the site?  I thought maybe uploading them to the gallery would work, but the file size limit is 2mb, and my phone (galaxy s2, 8 megapixel camera) apparently takes pictures with larger sizes than that.  Is there some sort of image compression program people are using or do most people just use crappy phone cameras that take just as big pictures but smaller in file size, or is there some sort of feature on the site that I'm missing?

Anyways, my finds for today  in the last picture

OG Xbox $1, not sure if it works, it powers on but I don't have a video cable for it

Brand new unopened Wii wheel $1, been wanting to try it on mario kart 8

DS Case that can hold 2 ds systems (like my 3ds xl and ds lite), 8 games, 3 styluses and probably a few other things for 50cents (game systems and games in the pictures are mine and were not included)

Gameboy advance SP carrying case 25 cents (got all my gameboy crap shoved into one bag, so this will help lighten the load)

And a DVD rack that I'll use for games or something, 25 cents

Oh and some crappy 4 game ds plastic holder for 25 cents, which I regret buying as I have enough game storage for DS games.

Not a good day, but not a bad day either.

Oh and can someone take a look and tell me if any of those Skylanders are worth anything?  I don't know anything about skylanders, so I passed them up, but that case of skylanders, plus the two bases for it were all 3 bucks, don't know for which system, I don't think it had the game with it.  Also neglected to take a picture of the carrying case of Skylanders itself.  I believe it was "Skylanders Giants".

Pretty decent day, at least for me anyways.

Donkey Kong Country Returns $2 bucks (one block away from me, first find of the day) complete with manuals and club nintendo codes, no scratches whatsoever

Halo 3 Special Edition 360 with HDMI, no cords, no hard drive, was told it didn't work, but it has no apparent physical damage and it hasn't been opened, so it might be repairable - got it for $2 bucks

A 2gb Ipod Nano, guy said he was unsure if it worked, but it was 50 cents, there's a minor dent in the middle (not the screen) and he was charging 7.50 for two of the docks, so it probably doesn't work, but I've learned that I shouldn't discount "probably doesn't work" items if they're dirt cheap, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten that sweet 24" LG HD LCD monitor with HDMI for 3 bucks (different sale, a while back).  No cord to test it with, but I'm sure I could find one if I tried.

Oh and some lady was selling a 3ds XL charger for a buck, got it for 50 cents, nice deal if I ever lose mine, or can just use that whenever I go somewhere and leave my original in the outlet.

#11878890 Newegg Sony PS4/PS3 Gold Wireless Stereo Headset $69.99 Possible $5...

Posted by vickers500 on 28 June 2014 - 09:13 AM

Yes!!! Finally got mine.  Been needing a new headset ever since the left cup on my wired turtle beach p11s went out, and have been eyeing this for quite a while. I missed it the first time around and spent like every 10 minutes of that day refreshing, hoping they would come back in stock, then the next day was disappointed when it was a "back order", making it not possible to buy through the app.  Had been checking it about maybe 3 times a day since then and just as I couldn't get any sleep and decided to check again, it's finally available.  I was bummed out because I thought I'd have to buy it at best buy and waste a 5 dollar certificate.  Now I don't have to.  Thanks op!

Will be using these with Destiny.

:D/ :D/ :bouncy: This has made my day :bouncy:  :D/ :D/

#11861000 Gamestop: Smash Bros Wii U game, gamecube controller, controller adapter bund...

Posted by vickers500 on 22 June 2014 - 02:09 AM

I can understand them making a wired adapter for the GameCube controllers but why not also make a wireless GameCube controller, one you don't need an adapter for? Not the wavebird, but a new one that's designed exactly like the wired ones, minus the cord/heft, no plugin wireless adapter, and maybe add a home button somewhere.

I guess maybe because it won't be used for anything outside of smash and maybe a few vc titles, but still, it would be popular, as not all people who prefer GameCube controllers, or even most, will be participating in tournaments where having a wired controller is necessary. Nintendo could start adding gc support to their games and maybe patch in support for existing ones. They seem to have no problem adding tons of old controller options to newer games . A GameCube controller designed just like the original, minus the cord and minus the need for a wireless adapter would be amazing, it could replace or just complement the pro controller.

#11858383 Mario Kart 8 preorder @ Dell, get $25 egc

Posted by vickers500 on 21 June 2014 - 01:45 AM

Got mine, didn't have to call.  Anyone have suggestions on what to spend it on?  I'm thinking Donkey Kong Country Tropical freeze, as it's on "sale" at 44.99, this gift card would make it 20 bucks.  But then again I'm also thinking of holding off and using it on a pre-order of another game like Smash Wii U or Pokemon Sapphire.  Thinking I should wait a bit and see if anything better comes along by the time it expires (september 18th it says for me).

Had a pretty good day today. This may not be anywhere near the hauls some of you lucky bastards have gotten away with, but for me, in my city, it's pretty good, as I'm lucky as heck to even find the crappiest DS games at garage sales.  There was a whole box of DS games in their cases.  I'm not really a reseller, so I only picked out the games that looked interesting to me to play, which were all mario games. With so many games, I have to wonder if somebody got there early and got all the pokemon games (if there were any at all).

Anyways, paid 3 bucks for all the DS games together, except pokemon black, I got that last week, thought I'd add it to the picture anyways, got black a week ago for 4 bucks, sticker price was 10, but it was end of day (in garage sale time anyways) and I offered them 4 and they took it, one of the black and white games has been something I've been looking for for a very long time, ever since I passed one up a long time ago before I had a ds and didn't know how expensive they are.  The black game came with the white case though, I guess the guy selling them mixed them up.  Still happy, the club nintendo code worked on it. The others have the cases and manuals to them all.  Paid 2 bucks for the Planet Earth complete series on DvD.  Not blu-ray, but for 2 bucks, why not?  Checked all the discs, they're all there and have absolutely no scratches, probably hasn't even been watched, even the cardboard sleeve has almost no damage to it.

The controller was one dollar and other than a few aesthetic scuffs, is in perfect condition, but it didn't come with the battery pack, though since I bought a bundle of battery packs on ebay a few years ago, that's no problem.

Pretty good day for me.1403286242235.jpg

Got a pretty decent item on Saturday, though no gaming related stuff other than a car charger for a ds and a crystal case holder for ds games (50cents each).
The same sale that had the charger/case had a 23 inch LG monitor, and the sales were pretty terrible at that point so I thought I'd go ahead and risk it and purchase it, it was a bit dirty but didn't have any real physical damage to it that I could tell, but even then, I just assumed it wouldn't work and decided to risk the 3 bucks.  I'm glad I did.
Got this awesome 23'' monitor for 3 bucks:

Sorry, don't know how to compress images to embed them.

Some recent finds:

BF3 Xbox 360 Premium edition with case, opened, but code was unused, so I got premium(maybe they didn't know how to put in the code) for 5 bucks - today

Gameboy Advance no battery cover (solid blue) for 50 cents - today

Gameboy advance bag with 2 gameboy advance systems (one clear blue, one clear pink), pokemon silver, pokemon crystal, pokemon red, super mario bros for gameboy, kirby dreamland for gameboy, wario land, 102 dalmations, the little light attachment for the advance, a trading cord - all for just 10 bucks (a counter offer to their original 25).

(dad also found and bought me two original gameboys, one green, one grey, for about 5 bucks when I was sick and couldn't go)

Working Nintendo DS with cracked hinge (still playable, just didn't stay up by itself, but I got used to holding it), did have to buy a charger though, but only paid 5 bucks for one online - the system itself only cost 4 bucks, it also came with a nerf case protector but it was a bit broken and kind of useless to me as I'm not a 3 year old. Got it about 12 months ago.

A backup nintendo 64 (already bought one from a garage sale a long time ago for another 5 bucks) with red expansion pack, all the cords, and donkey kong 64 - 5 bucks

Pokemon Soul Silver - 4 bucks, yeah 4 BUCKS :) .  Had this one for like a year or two before I even had a system I could play it on, until I got that DS up above I was talking about 12 months ago.  Best 13 bucks I've ever spent (system4/charger5/game4), it got me back into pokemon games and I put like 230 hours into just that one game.

Action replay for ds - 4 bucks

A playstation move wand for 25 cents.

A working, fully functional xbox 360 controller (no battery cover, but already had like 5 of them from when I bought replacements for my 360 gears special controller, got the battery covers for like 3 bucks on ebay) - one dollar.

Bad Company 2 Ultimate with case (dlc used though, didn't matter cus I already had it from when I bought bc2 and then sold it, got it back at the garage sale) for 4 bucks.

2 broken (but potentially fixable) PS3 phats to practice on (I have a 60gb in my closet about to die from overheating, need practice with disassembly and reassembly and applying thermal paste), plus a tube of arctic silver 5 (plenty of it in the tube), 2 tubes of thermal compound remover, a really good screwdriver, and a ton of good screwdriver bits (like the heads you replace on it) with a gamebit piece as well, so Now I can open up n64 cartridges to clean them.  And a physical copy of crysis warhead.  Got that all in a box for 8 bucks.

Gran Turismo 5 disc, 5 bucks (kinda regret that one, dlc was NOT on the disc)

Also these aren't garage sale deals, but deals at a tiny little shop no bigger than an average bedroom (not even a master bedroom) called mcmullens this and that..  Got 2 copies of majoras mask for n64, both holographic, kept one, sold the other for 23 bucks on ebay(only paid 5 bucks for each of them), ocarina of time for 5 bucks (though that took a bit of cleaning to make it work, and the sticker is really worn out to the point where you can barely tell what it is, the two majoras masks were in perfect condition though.

I stupidly passed on pokemon black for 6 bucks (passed on it because I didn't know the rarity of ds pokemon games, and because it was bundled with another one, I should have asked if I could have bought it separately, but even if I couldn't, it still would have been worth it).

I'm sure theres more I can't think of at the moment, but those are just some of the things I've found within the past 1 and a half to 2 years of garage sailing, only on saturdays (me and my dad hang out this way).  Garage sales are pretty awesome.
