Don't you love

when you've added a bunch of games to purchase, you finally go to your cart in preparation to check out. You go to click on the page to scroll down (or do anything else really), and just as you're clicking the mouse, the "Are you 18?" question pops up. Already in the process of depressing the button, you scream in terror as you click, knowing that, to gamestop.com, clicking outside that box equates to clicking "no" for some reason.

Then you get to watch in horror as the page reloads and deletes every M-rated game from your cart.

That's just solid programming right there.

I thought that just happens to me LMAO

Anyone ever receive a fake Xbox 360 game from Gamestop? I bought a copy of Saints Row 2 (stocking up on bc games for Series X) and there is a sticker around the ring of the game. I can't test it because I don't have an Xbox.

I received two games like that, one Luigi mansion GameCube and one Minecraft Xbox 360. I haven’t gotten the chance to test the Minecraft one yet, but I loaded the Luigi mansion disc into my GameCube and it didn’t work.
I took off the stickers to see if that was the problem, & under them was a crap ton of goo and dust. So I’m assuming whoever put the stickers on did it to hide how dirty the disc was.
Even after cleaning it I still couldn’t get it to work though. Hopefully the Xbox 360 one isn’t the same.

Even with the animal crossing switch, it was up for days. And then all the sudden it has a huge price surge on eBay, and people are complaining that they weren’t able to get one at normal price.

I personally think it’s a good thing when consoles & limited edition items sell out. After all it is supposed to be LIMITED edition.
There’s nothing worse than stalking deal sites & paying retail price for an item only to see it go on sell for $100 less 5 months later.

So far half of the new games that I’ve gotten have been previously opened. SMDH.

And it's well know gamestop sucks stories are exaggerated beyond belief online. Just saying, it seems like this is more rare than common to find roaches in a console. But I forgot if it happened to Kpjcelj once then it will happen every single time

I was just warning him that there is a chance it can happen and he obviously will not get his money back if it does.
If he or anyone wants to spend their money at gamestop I literally do not care.
You’re being a jerk and people like you are part of the reason I’ve been a member for almost 10 years and have less than 100 posts, because I know contributing something, even if helpful is bound to attract trolls or argumentative people. So I will continue lurking as to not be attacked.

Is it possible to buy game consoles at all from GS right now? I've been looking to buy a cheap 360 as a backup console but every single listing on the site says "not available online" and "not available within 100 miles for pickup." I understand that we're in pandemic mode, I just find it weird that they're running promos for retro console bundles that can't be taken advantage of because I can't buy any of the products.

I wouldn’t buy a retro console from gamestop. Last few ones I got literally had roaches inside and were busted/making loud noises. I sent them back, and never got a refund after calling daily and spending over 2 hours on the phone each time. After a while, I just gave up.

Xbox One X pre-owned for $230 is decent if you need a console for quarantine.

I wouldn’t buy a console from them since you can’t return it in store right now. I bought a couple of Xbox 360s a while back, one came busted with bugs inside, and the other didn’t turn on. I called and was given a return label. According to tracking, they were delivered 5 days after I sent them. After 2 weeks of not getting a refund, I called and was told they would process my refund the next day. Never happened. All together I spent about 15 hours on the phone and never got my refund. After a while I just gave up.

TLDR; If the console comes broken, and you send it back through mall, chances that you get refunded are about 0.

Been a full 24 hours since I redeemed an online $50 PUR gift certificate and I can’t find it anywhere. This blows.

Have you tried checking “digital locker”?

My kid just called me a horrible father because they can’t get there game at GameStop, and I said when I was there age I would walk up a mile hill each and everyday to school, now they don’t have school, and they still complain?

Cool story bro

I have social anxiety. I had a mental breakdown years ago, went to a therapist and took anti-anxiety pills to go outside. This is not a legitimate issue. Nobody ever attacked me in a grocery store during that time, nobody stopped me to talk to me. People barely even looked at me. Anyone believing their social anxiety is so severe that they can't even be in a store with other people who are minding their own business need to seek help instead of pandering to their insecurities by allowing the people they are avoiding to choose their fucking groceries for them. People have to help themselves.

How are you too busy? Do you work three jobs? If you don't, then you're not too busy. I have a full-time job and a side job, and I manage it just fine. Have kids? Great. Take your kids to the store. Connecting with them and teaching them about the world and preparing them for adulthood is your responsibility, and grocery shopping is a good way to do this.

It takes them half an hour to get your grocery shopping done, might take you an hour. That's hardly any time at all over the span of a week. Y'all spend more time in a week searching Bing for spare pennies.

First, not everyone has the money to afford a therapist or the means to get medication. Second, not everyone has the same level of anxiety, especially when you’re depressed.

Why does it matter to you how people get their groceries? Extra jobs are made, stores get more business, people who don’t like going into stores can get their groceries. Everyone wins.
I, for one think that grocery pick up is a great thing. Even if people are lazy, those lazy people are the ones that would have previously been eating fast food everyday. At least now they can get fresh produce and meats.

Can't imagine being so busy/lazy that you need to have someone else spend half an hour every week doing your grocery shopping for you. Giving up control over the quality of the item that is chosen for you is questionable, too. I can see people with physical disabilities having to use the program, but not others.

Can’t imagine being so judgmental that I would forgot that some people have social anxiety, or don’t have the time to go shopping every week.

I had four orders placed by 1AM of the sale. On my last order, they charged the paid two games, and cancelled the two free. Meanwhile, the games are in stock on the website for several weeks. Cannot cancel the order, return the games, or change any of the terms of sale now that they intentionally waited so long. No compensation for this, and it's outright deception.

If GameStop is trying to make enemies out of customers, they are doing a wonderful job. Next time they overlap promos, I will remember this.

I’m no expert in law, but this really seems like it should be illegal or at least fall into the category of false advertising. I wonder if enough people actually complain if they’ll do something.

It literally says on Gamestop’s App:

“Don’t have the game box? Not a problem as Gamestop offers the same amazing trade price even without the game box.”

So that employee was probably just being a dingus.

If the MEMO was real and we are going to start needing cases and artwork for full trade value, at least we can find some solace in the fact RedBox isn’t restocking games any time soon. I assume a lot of GameStop’s Preowned section without original cases is from RedBox trades. God bless the times that are a changin’

Out of curiosity where does it say that at? The employee told me that it’s been in the memos since September. I do not believe her or her DL and plan on causing a big stink about it. I just need enough evidence to prove that what her DL and her told me are incorrect

So I did a bunch of trade ins yesterday since my state does 50 percent bonus right now. I went to 7 stores and didn’t have any trouble in them besides one. They told me that any game without a case is charged a refurb fee. I insisted that they are incorrect. Long story short I contacted the DL and he told me that any store that isn’t charging a refurb fee for incomplete games is incorrect as it was put in a new memo
