#14468714 Limited Run Games Thread - Nothing is Limited, We Make Everything Now!

I mean I semi get the wait times, but leaving out a paid item then not replying is scummy no matter what company you are. I’ll give them another week to reply, if they don’t I’m definitely opening a dispute.

I honestly thought gamestop was the worst company in existence but limited games might just have them beat. Still no reply about my missing item that I paid for, and 3 month wait for items that were already in warehouse ready to be shipped.

Gamestop isn't paying for competence, so they don't get it.

Neither is McDonald’s, but how many times have you been given a pattyless burger? Kinda weird seeing people defend scummy employees because the employer isn’t paying enough.

Minimum wage gets minimum effort

There’s a difference between lack of effort and complete incompetence.

Maybe I've just been lucky, but it seems the Gamestop website has been sending out actual new/sealed games when you order them new now. In the past it would usually be 50% sealed and 50% gutted (fulfilled by a store). Since November I have ordered 12 new games and every single one came factory sealed. I just ordered 4 more new ones last night, let's see if my luck continues.

If they truly have changed the way they fulfill new orders they may become my retailer of choice for new games in the future, especially with the great prices they have been having lately.

I believe you just got fortunate. I ordered 5 “new” games. 4 came gutted and only 1 sealed.

I’m not sure why so many people are defending gamestop employees.
McDonald’s employees also make minimum wage, but that still doesn’t give them the right to spit in your food.
Gamestop employees shouldn’t get entitled to purposely send out broken disc, empty packages or wrong items just because they don’t get paid enough.

I’m sure there are 10000s of people who will gladly take their jobs and do it right.

It’s the most generous return/refund policy ever offered that I’m aware of. That’s enough for me to view them as genuinely trying to address the situation. Shitlords continuing to dig themselves deeper? Seems over dramatic and cruel. Trying to release all platforms at once was a foolish mistake but I don’t think much more than a mistake. I’ll still take what they tried to create, what we got so far, and what we could eventually get (given their handling of Witcher 3 improvements) over deceptive micro transaction laden cash grabs for which the official return policy is “got ya sucker, now give us more.” Not just the return policy, a key component of the game design and primary reason for its existence...all this vitriol is better directed at that exploitative cancerous crap in my opinion.

No it’s not them being generous, if they didn’t offer refunds they would of gotten another class action lawsuit. This is a multi billion dollar corporation, them releasing a broken game wasn’t a “mistake”, they did it because the investors literally pushed them to and gave them no other choice, and in their eyes it’s better to be in trouble with the consumer rather than the investors. Not sure why people are making so many excuses for them “oh poor billion dollar company doesn’t know what they’re doing! ):” lol yeah right

Traded in some games tonight. They had spent the whole day converting the store to the new no boxes on the floor style. What a mess spent 10 min talking to the manager. He told be he was pleading for a better system to just downsize new but not pre owned.. Something. He says they have less space than ever now cause all his draws are full. Did not sound happy lol.

I only go into to gamestop to preuse the used section for gems unless I have a very specific goal but now it's a complete waste of time I'll probably never just stop in again.

I can definitely see people waiting 10 minutes in line only to be told that the game in their hand is actually out of stock.
This new change will make a lot of customers angry and not wanna go back

Next time, ask her to point out said damage. Or just don't go there again.

I did. She said it was top layer damaged. It wasn’t damaged, the disc just had white in it, but like I said she wouldn’t budge. And I didn’t feel like getting into a full blown argument.

Normally when I go there the manager is there and he’s fair when it comes to refurb fees. No idea what her problem was.

I hate how fickle gamestop employees are. I traded in some of the brand new games I had bought on sale and never played. I took them out of the plastic wrap of course. The girl tried to charge me a refurb fee saying that some of them were damaged. I had just opened them in my car a minute before trading them in like how the heck can they be damaged when they were literally new.

I told her they were new and she wouldn’t budge, so I went to a gamestop 15 minutes away and the employee traded them all in, no refurb fee.

I feel like Best Buy made this hunger games type of situation so only the real fans who stayed up actually got one. Survival of the fittest (aka who presses “place your order” the longest)

For it to only work for less than one day, and their wording of under $14.99 clearly wasnt being put into effect, should be considered what then? Broken? Malfunction? Definitely not glitch right?
B2G2 is a better deal than B5G4 anyways because youre not forced to buy a total of 9 games.
The B5G8 was for sure a good deal though for $9.99 and under games.

It definitely was a glitch. Aircorba just has the tendency to pick arguments whenever he can. I’m still not completely convinced that he isn’t a troll.

I just can't trust that they won't send a gutted copy of anything, slapped a sticker on it and call it new. Same goes with preowned, generic label, scratched up disc, ect. Also, they lie when they claim that you will get free shipping, if you have done any of their recent flash sales in the past, the invoice clearly shows that they charge you 5.00 to ship it, then they deduct an equal among from each game, so that if you need to return it for any reason, you are out that money.

This is one "deal" that people would be wise to stay away from.

I strongly agree, when they did their last sale on “new” games, I ordered about 20 and literally half of them were opened with damaged cover art and dirty discs. A couple of the “new” ones didn’t even have cases. How does a company sell a new game without the case like wtf?

I still don’t know they are legally able to get away with this. It should be considered false advertising at a minimum

Just stop. You're not right when it comes to thinking they removed the 10% to save money.

I like how you called me out for being “wrong” yet you’ve still yet to explain why the fact they discontinued pro isn’t to save/gain them money.

Can you explain why they did it then?
