In Topic: Limited Run Games Thread - Global Outbreak of...Delayed Shipping

I see no one looked at the obvious. 8-)

There's only 54 choices on that list, should be pretty easy to narrow down logically.

6 stuck out to me, but the one that seems too obvious is Psychonauts, since LRG has a relationship with Double Fine that makes the most sense to me, the team is only 65 people, but I think they're including extra staff who worked on the remaster as well as Sony partners in that 500 they're reserving for "the team"

Totally my conjecture, but makes sense to me.

8-Bit Adventures sold out.

Layers of Fear is at 901 copies while claiming 31% remain.  So between an hour after the first batch on Friday  and this morning it's sold 102 copies.   Amazing to see it only get 192 copies sold with the friday drop.  I guess people just didn't show up.

Looking back through the thread... DoubeDam21 posted on Tuesday that 8-Bit Adventures Anthology was coming on  friday with a mystery ps4 game.  Not knowing what that was, I didn't think anything of it until chrislaustin posted on Thursday with the link to the game showing up on the LRG site for the next day and how he didn't see this [NES Games on PS4] coming and his negative stance on NES point&click adventure games.

I typically only follow this one thread for everything LRG.  I don't have the time to track one company through so many avenues of media (multiple twitter accounts, discord, their own forums, their often neglected site, their content on Reddit, various random interviews, ... and so on).   They are so scatterbrained with their advertising and posting cryptic messages such as ... "something 8-bit and/or a bloody month that stains your hands"  it's just not worth the effort to track it all when I buy maybe 4% of what they sell.  I'm super thankful that those that follow all the randomness of LRG posts about it here and make this a central repository for what the company is up to.

I am too, because I don't follow the discord (and have no plans too).  So I appreciate the updates being posted here about that.

It's worth it to follow them at the very least on Twitter (LRG, Josh and Doug), sometimes information can slip through the cracks and they'll "almost always" post there 1st with info.

But even this thread is missing info....(take that for what you will) ;-)

I felt like a reply was due since it was pointed out that one release was common knowledge for a month yet no one here talked about it until the week of release.

Edit: Also please don't misrepresent my wording in a statement.

I never said it was common knowledge, I specifically said "This was not a stealth release."

With careful choice with how I worded it.

(Note: He posted this May 15th, with health issues and work it didn't feel that long ago....but it's been out there for five months)

If overlooked in May, then people need to start watching his twitter feed closer.  That's not me being critical, just saying there might be other things people have missed.

I'm kind of surprised at 8-Bit Adventure Anthology.  First, surprising since a remaster of Shadowgate for the Switch is supposed to release this fall (announced a week or two ago).

Second, this was just out of left field.  (highlighted for emphasis)

I really dislike the way they drop announcements like this a day  before a release.   Even though I don't mind the NES versions at all, I think if I really wanted to play these versions I'd probably just do through other means (leaning towards the NES Classic with that sweet original nes pad).

This was not a stealth release.

Olengie posts the hints they share in the discord chat and it was mentioned there (albeit incorrectly ID'ed as Bloodstained)

Josh brought this up on Twitter over a month ago (I know, I replied to him) so it wasn't a big secret to anyone that this was happening if you check the usual spaces and paying attention to any hints they might drop.

Not enough for me to start over completely from scratch on the Switch.

Me neither, I have 160 hours in the Wii U version, I don't see myself doing that again with the Switch version, even though I just picked it up.

Frisky, I'm confused by a few things in the 2nd post on the 1st page.

1tp4rst.gif Super Mario 64 - 90 Gold Points - Ends 8/1

3ds120.gif WarioWare: Touched! - 1000 Platinum Points - Ends 7/1

I don't remember seeing these last year (unless I REALLY wasn't paying attention).

However, the reason I ask is, if they're available through July/August why aren't they available anymore?  (or was that 2017?)

Edit: ****, I just saw the 2016 expiration dates looking at that page.... :???:  Might be worthwhile add they're long dead to that post to save fools like me asking about something long and dead for years now. lol

I appreciate them mixing things up and putting more things to get sooner, but I seem to be missing plenty of things while bleeding gold/platinum points like mad because I don't check the mynintendo page once a week.

Any clarification would be appreciated and maybe an update on that post if it's not too much trouble.  Thanks.
