Cross game chat is important to me.  I have a lot of friends from real life that are on XBL (who live out of town) and it's just a lot easier to talk on party or cross game chat compared to using phones, especially when 3 or 4 of us get on.  No doubt that it's not a huge deal or selling point, but it is a big deal to me at least.

Hopefully Infamous: Second Son comes out somewhat close to launch.  As someone that's never played the Infamous games, it looks sick.

I'd guess no, unless it's some kind of smaller Paul Kinsey Hare Krishna type reappearance.  Probably won't be quite as off the wall as that was.

I agree, I think we're done with them.  It just seemed like they were building up to a confrontation between Arnold and Don.

In Topic: The 2012/2013 NBA Season Thread

24 June 2013 - 04:21 AM

I'm not a guy that likes to talk about the Heat too much, ESPN has that covered, but I do want to say two things about them: (1) LBJ is a great player and with the exception of game 3 (bizarre but everyone has off nights) had to carry that team to a title with help from a random player each game; (2) Miami, while the best team in the league this season, does not deserve a shoutout in the "greatest teams of all time discussion".

It just goes to show how different the reg season is compared to the playoffs. If the Heat roster is the exact same, they are still the favorites, but there are many contenders esp if Westbrook and Rose are healthy.  Last thing about them, which is what others have said on podcasts and articles, is how did they win 27 games and yet still have no shows in the playoffs.  All the talk about them and the non-stop ESPN promotion/shock (when lose it's because they didn't play hard) created this perception that they were unbeatable, when they truly were beatable in a few ways.  Hell, they should've been beaten by the Spurs this series.

All credit goes to the crazy quarter LeBron had in game 6 and the weird dynamic of game 7 with Battier hitting 6 threes and Chalmers hitting that crazy almost-half-court shot at the end of the 3rd.  I'm not sure what they do in the reg season next year, I mean we know that they will coast in the reg season and be right up there with the best record, but if Wade's not 100% and Bosh loses his jumper again, the question becomes does LeBron want to operate a team doing all the heavy lifting in the future?

As much as everyone is shitting on this year's draft, usually there are at least a few good players in each one.  I'm also hoping we get more action on draft night because last year was a snoozefest.  I'm also hoping the Grizz can throw something at the Celtics so they can potentially get Paul Pierce, highly unlikely but it would be a nice deal for the Grizz.

Who knows what direction this show will go in after tonite? My one question is pretty insignificant, will we see the Rosen family again?

In Topic: Whose idea was it to cancel Burn Notice?

24 June 2013 - 01:59 AM

I got "burned out" on Burn Notice as well.  The problem with just doing side stories week after week is that the show will not be building to some ultimate goal.  Burn Notice, ultimately, is about one person's goal of getting back to being a Spy.  Now it's true that there's a whole lot more to the story then just that, but it all revolves around Michael building to something.  I will definitely finish out the series and watch since it's the last season (the only one I haven't watched) but if I knew there were more seasons planned, I wouldn't care anymore.

I just don't think the show would work as a Law and Order type where they bring in a new case and finish it each week.  The story evolved into something more than that and if the show became what it was in the first season, I would guess that they were giving the characters an "happy ending" where they don't have any more problems and are doing cases just to do them.
