#13447321 Steam+ Deals Mega Thread (All PC Gaming Deals)

Posted by BobbyTastic on Yesterday, 10:10 PM

I don't know if anyone already posted, but Newegg is having a Labor Day sale on Squeenix and 2K titles.

Only thing that's kind of noteworthy as far as I can tell is Supreme Commander 2's DLC being 75% off. It's even cheaper with the code LABORPCDD16.

Knocks it down to $1.06, probably as cheap as it's gonna get outside of a strange Humble Bundle. As for whether or not you should get it, it adds a ton of stuff to the game and the consensus is it's a must if you plan on ever playing the game. Planning on ever playing the game being the key phrase there.

Also, Bioshock Trilogy is pretty cheap if for some reason you don't have that. Keep in mind the free upgrade coming along soon.

#13447289 PSA - program terms to My Best Buy effective 8/28 - Points nuked in half for...

Posted by BobbyTastic on Yesterday, 09:36 PM

This is a FREE rewards program, why are people "bitching" about a program that reward customers and cost no money.    I can't name any other retailer that offers this type of benefit.   On top of GCU, this is simply an icing on the cake.

The people that are "bitching" are more likely paid trolls working for a competitor.   You know who you are.   Ever since Best Buy step up to the plate, life been tough for you guys.

GameStop technically rewards customers with points for purchases and shit, but it's nowhere near Best Buy's level. I think Staples and CVS does in a way that's more comparable, but that's all I can think of aside from maybe Ibotta.

But I agree with Mr. Bong. Yeah, it sucks, but it's still the best game in town. Maybe not as "the best" as it used to be since Amazon's stepped it up a little, but until they Fuck with my 20% off everything forever, price matching and pre-order certs, I'm not about to swear off Best Buy. I just hope they keep the certs in general, maybe they could make the credit card rewards better in exchange for the point reduction (someone mentioned Amazon has a pretty good rewards card)?

yeah, blizzard and EA have been getting hit with DDOS attacks.

Shit like this is going to ultimately be what leads to a crackdown on the Internet.

And before you laugh that off, read this. (Wall Street Journal article about the US gov't's plans to abdicate its responsibility over the Internet, for those paranoid/expecting clickbait).

I miss the days when DDOS was reserved for protest or an incentive for a company to get better servers, instead of showing you're an "internet badass".

I'm one of the cheap people that don't also feel entitled. If a place has a policy that is their business but we are talking about getting money back that isn't deserved nor was it promised. They give money back because to them it's more cost effective to throw the couple bucks back at the whiner than it is to pay CS to communicate multiple times with the same whiner. To me it's unethical and I'm fully aware many if not most on a site like this will fully disagree with me.

Maybe not promised, but deserved? It's absolutely deserved, given I haven't even downloaded the game yet and it's only been 9 days since purchase. There's reasons several shops (including STEAM), have policies that allow for retroactive price adjustments due to recently lowered prices. It's a sign of good faith, which they know consumers appreciate and will keep their business.

PS+ games are not negotiated overnight, they knew it was going to be offered, and despite that put it on a fire sale less than 2 weeks earlier, hoping to catch some suckers before the drop in "value".

Now if they had put it on sale like this a month+ ago, I don't think there'd be any expectation there. But it is just way too close, imo, and I think others will agree with that. With Xbox, there's seemingly an unwritten rule that any GWG titles aren't put on sale at least 1 - 2 months before they go free, and I figured the same for PS. Apparently that was a mistake.

Call me an entitled whiner all you want, but I'd rather be one than someone who gets bait-and-switched and shrugs it off, which only encourages this kind of behaviour.

Yeah I hate when stores try to get money for food before the expiration date

like wtf I want it for the same price as when they throw it out back to the birds

That analogy is so dumb, I don't even know where to start.

A better analogy would be buying something from Best Buy, only for them to give it away a week later. Which surprise surprise, you can do something about (post-purchase price match).

After a quick live chat they refunded me the purchase cost of Amnesia.

That's heartening. I'm in a live chat now, hopefully they'll approve mine as well without any sort of "this is a one-time exception" crap.

Just seems like such a scummy move, squeezing the last $ out of the game right before it becomes a Plus title.

What an underwhelming month after the price bump. My expectations weren't that high and I'm still disappointed. I figured they'd at least try to justify it so it wouldn't look so obvious that they had us over a barrel.

Not to mention furious that I bought Amnesia during the Flash Sale recently. Definitely requesting a refund, what a load of shit. Will report how that goes.

I feel like I had lords of the fallen on one of the consoles but looking through my history it doesn't seem I do

odd maybe I am thinking of something else

I recently bought journey when it was on sale

Lords of the Fallen was GWG. It's sad that PS+ is now getting GWG's leftovers when it used to almost always be the other way around...

Journey's good though.

So according to Le Spoder, MAV's been delisted and any unused keys for it from Alienware's giveaway are set to be deactivated soon. So use 'em now if you haven't already.

And if anyone with a spare could throw me one, that'd be great.

Free update if you owned previous versions.

That's a really nice gesture. And to launch at a 75% discount? The update either cost nothing to make or they only care about console sales at this point.

Regardless, well done THQ Nordic.

Was about to post the Perfect Woman game trailer. I am fucking dying of laughter, what I thought was a really well done parody is actually real.

Here's the trailer anyway for those who are lazy. Give it a watch, you won't regret it.

Can somebody talk me out of buying the Prototype bundle? I know it's an awful port but I have such fond memories of that game..

Also which (if any) of those Battlefront versions are worth it? I've only played the beta and I remember I was pretty disappointed.

Ya know, I'm not the only one that wants the bundle as well dude

Arson is a mediocre warriors clone. Pirate warriors 3 is the better anime warriors clone, or dragon quest heroes

Didn't know a criminal act was a Musou game. :bouncy:

But seriously, I have an Xbone so no Pirate Warriors 3 or DQ Heroes. :-(
