#14239872 Best Buy Cyber Monday 2019 Deals (Yes, GCU stackable)

Posted by CheapAssHustla on 03 December 2019 - 01:50 AM

How do returns/rebuys work when you used reward certificates on an order? Got one that I’d like to return and rebuy to use the GCU discount and one that’s actually cheaper on the Eshop, but reward certificates were used on them. From what it looks like the reward certificates were kinda spread equally across the entire order, so if I were to return an item would I get that portion of the reward certificate back as well or do I just lose out on that amount?

I've done this many times so I'll try to explain it. I recently ordered Shenmue 3 with my $15 certificate before the GCU discount applied. I also bought Days Gone last week, and I wanted to return/rebuy that. I returned Days Gone. Then I returned Shenmue 3 with Steelbook. Before hitting total, mention that you want to exchange game 1 (with certificates) towards another item. After GCU, Days Gone was $15.99 so the points should've applied. The cashier didn't put my phone number in for GCU so he did a price adjustment afterwards, and $4.99 went back to my card. If you return an item with certificates without exchanging it, the certificates will be refunded to your account. If you return an item with certs, they'll get distributed evenly across multiple items. I hope that makes sense.

Tempted to get Octopath Traveler, but I'm pretty certain I don't have enough free time to enjoy it.

It's a great game. I put 120 hours into it before I stopped playing it. I wasn't able to defeat the optional end game boss, but that's OK. It was one of the Switch games that I would bring to work to grind out character levels.

Walmart shit the bed so hard. How dare you!

Aside from great 4K/Blu-ray prices it's a miss. However I could not get anything on sale that was "supposed" to be a deal last year. It's like they either put the sale prices on at random times but it didn't happen when it was supposed to. On top of that even looking everything was sold out. The thousands of third party merchants they use in their listings make things a problem. It's like anything from walmart.com directly just becomes unavailable in a split second.

My only hope is Best Buy having enough stock and surprise deals. I'm on the fence about World War Z. I haven't had any multiplayer online games that I wanted to play in ages but apparently the game is getting worse and worse from the comments I've seen. I was thinking of buying it but it might not be worth it.

If there was an LG C9 OLED on sale at a good price I'd like to know where and possibly get one. My Panasonic Plasma cooks my room and is starting to show its age with color abnormalities in the whites and weird red speckling present on game screens.

I'm not sure if you have Game Pass, but World War Z is on there. I downloaded it, but I haven't tried it out yet.

#14214452 Target: Switch Zelda: Link's Awakening Buy 1 Get 1 Free + $10 giftcard

Posted by CheapAssHustla on 28 September 2019 - 10:37 PM

Good luck with that one, cowboy. I'd wager that those that were able to capitalize on this deal (getting DQ as one of the titles) aren't interested in selling it at 'cost' when they could offload it at much higher value, closer to MSRP. That is, providing that they're interested in selling in the first place.

Personally, selling was not a consideration as I picked up four games that I plan to play and keep.

Exactly! I have Link's Awakening Collector's Edition in the mail so I didn't need another copy of it. Switch games hardly drop in price so I was happy to pick up those games with this deal.

Took in my stack of 16 games and got $150.12 after the bonus and renewing my PUR. Did this with the credit:

Pre-ordered NBA 2K20 Legend Edition for XB1 and paid the full amount.

Picked up Forza Motorsport 6 and WWE 2K19 for XB1

Used the remaining $4.62 + $.44 difference to pre-order NFS: Heat for XB1

Side story: The employee that helped me said that a guy came in with a huge haul of 360 games that he bought at local flea markets for dirt cheap. He the took them to a local game shop and had them rebuffed for $2 a game. His willingness to do all of that netted him around $500 in trade credit and he bought himself a new Nintendo Switch. Gotta respect the hustle when there's a good trade promo going on.

That's how you do it honestly. I wish there were more flea markets near me. Even the stores like Savers/Goodwill barely have anything worthwhile.

yeah I'm looking at a Wii bundle right now with games that probably get around $15 store credit combined and they want $175 for it lol

HAHA, that's great. People are so out of touch. I like seeing the overpriced Switch bundles. There was a listing where the guy wanted $450-$475 for the lot. I think it came with the system, one game, and third party accessories. You might get $300-$325 max.

someone has an XB1 console bundle up near me right now that I could profit $60 of store credit from with the current extra $25 promo but I'll let someone else have it since I'm good right now lol

Ha, I know the feeling. It's addicting, but it's also funny to see how people price things. For instance, there's a guy selling used Xbox One controllers for $40-$45. Umm, no. You can typically snag Xbox One controllers for $40 new from Amazon, Newegg etc.

facebook marketplace and thrift stores/pawn shops that have PS3/360 games for $2-$3. Also got lucky getting PS4 games for $3 today as part of my bundle. GTA, Spiderman and LBP3 to name a few. Making the most with these flips.

You can find some great games locally. I sadly missed out on NCAA 14 (PS3 disc only) for $2, and six Switch games for $10 each. Kirby, Fifa, Ark, Lego, and two other games. You gotta be quick!

#14197113 Pre-Order: Xbox One X 1TB Console - Gears 5 Limited Edition Bundle $499.99

Posted by CheapAssHustla on 08 August 2019 - 10:54 AM

Looks amazing but still too far into this gen to pay $500 for a One X

My thoughts exactly. Especially considering your can play all of the Gears series through Game Pass. A 2TB drive should've been included.

Not sure how valuable these will be down the road but it's worth noting that every Best Buy and Target near Chicago is sold out now

No kidding...$20 seemed to be the magic price point.

#14178556 NEW Secret of Mana (PS4) $9 shipped

Posted by CheapAssHustla on 15 June 2019 - 03:36 PM

It was not timed, shockingly. It was also supposed to be a single small print run, but preorders almost ate through the entire print run, so Gamestop convinced Square to print more, or they helped pay for more. I was an employee at the time of release. It sold well and Gamestop made a big deal that they struck a deal with Square to get it physical.

I didn't know that. I still have my copy sealed...I'll get to it one of these days.

Wedding may be off after she unboxes that figure.

Haha, too funny. We still have a lot of planning to do.

A Walmart about 25 minutes away is showing 2 of the MSI laptops in stock for $199. Debating whether that laptop is worth the roughly 50 minute trip.

You should get one. I don't need a laptop at the moment, but I wouldn't pass up one for $200. Especially with those specs.

#14155016 Spider-Man PS4 Finally $29.99 at BB

Posted by CheapAssHustla on 15 April 2019 - 10:20 AM

Why would someone want to buy the same game twice when you already played it......isn't it better ways out there to spend your money?

If the saves aren't compatible with the GOTY edition whenever that's released, I'll gladly play through the game again. When the game launched, I bought a used copy for $35. I unlocked the Platinum trophy, and sold it the following week for $45. I've been wanting to go back to it for a while now, but I'm still waiting on the GOTY edition of it. There's new trophies to unlock, and there's new suits to try out as well.

#14154033 PS Classic Console $29.99 (OOS)

Posted by CheapAssHustla on 12 April 2019 - 01:14 AM

Sad to see the PS TV flop so hard, when it is 100 times better than this useless piece of garbage. PS TV emulation is great, it plays games from 3 different platforms, and has a far superior controller (analog sticks!) that's wireless. Soft modded allows the system to reach its full potential, making it an excellent purchase. But now PS TV is rare and extremely expensive, and Sony offered this dreck instead. What a shame. All they had to do was remake PS TV and put it inside a classic PSone shell to capitalize off nostalgia.

My friend found 3 PS TVs (Lego bundle) brand new on sale two months ago, and bought them for me, $60 each. Hopefully I can flip it around on ebay for a nice profit.

As for Antonline, I purchased a brand new Switch off them from Ebay and it arrived in perfect condition.

I have a few already, but I wouldn't mind getting a few more at $60. Where did he find them? Target? You're right through. The PSTV is fantastic. I use mine almost daily.
