I loved that game...
Speaking of firsts, it was also the first game I had...relations with.

If you are preordering games still then you really have no one to blame than yourself for your disappointment. Not much is going to be lost by waiting a day or so. If you're worried about spoilers stay off of social media. If you have to play/experience the next big thing than the next big thing this time was disappointment. You got what you wanted even though you failed to realize exactly what you wanted.
Every game is better if you wait on it... Honestly, I don't even get upset about Epic buying exclusivity anymore... Its people paying for open beta access.
There are still a handful of games I'll pre-order (just did so with RE8) but for the most part I agree about waiting. In the last few months I've had a great time playing Death Stranding, Borderlands 3, and Days Gone and if anything it was a better experience because of waiting. It's always nice to pay less for a better game after a year+ worth of updates and patches.

Isn’t that actually good news though? RE3 remake was panned for being rushed and cutting content from the original. They’re bringing RE4 back in house to avoid that and take more time to get it right. We might have to wait longer but the end product should be closer to a $60 value ... just my two cents.
They were never going to cut content, so I don't think it's good news. The article mentions the original dev wanted to avoid making changes partially due to the negative feedback to RE3. They were the ones who wanted it to be faithful to the original, but Capcom decided they wanted to make changes so they switched developers. Again, it will probably still be good but RE4 really isn't the type game that needs sweeping changes. AFAIC they can only make it worse.

Feeling mildly devastated (if there is such a thing as mild devastation) to see this news:
Was hoping there might be a chance to see a RE4 remake this year that was faithful to the original. Now it looks like we'll be getting a significantly altered version in 2023 at the soonest. It should still be great but feeling a little less confident that it will be worth buying at a high price.

Only posting about this because people were talking about the new Leisure Suit Larry a little while ago...
It popped up in my discovery queue... looks like it was highly inspired by LSL.
Excuse me while I talk about myself for a little while.
So, I was primarily a console gamer until I finally got my shit together and built a PC in 2016, but the one exception to this was during Xmas of 1986 when my mom bought our first (and only until 10 years later) computer in the form of the Apple IIGS. I was six years old at the time and I remember actually being scared of it. That fear eventually evolved into love once I discovered that it could play Leisure Suit Larry. What a game. We had about a dozen floppies for that pile of junk but LSL was by far the one I played the most, despite the fact that I usually had to try at least three of four times to pass the child-lock "quiz" thing you had to pass in order to start the game (http://www.classicga...-larry/age-quiz). I've made a lot of great memories over the years while playing videogames, but none quite compare to the first time I had sex with a prostitute and forgot to wear a condom and died in LSL (again, when I was six). Anyway, that Wanker game looks fine but the art style should be a lot seedier and grimier to capture the original Larry feel.
On a side note, I can't remember the last time I paid full price for a game and I'm not sure if I've ever bought anything in early access, but I'm dangerously close to pulling the trigger on Everspace 2 right now.

So far I've heard from one guy it was a computer error on their end. Try again in 24 hours. By then the price was back to normal. The second jerk ignored me and ended the chat. The help then said it was out of stock. The third guy said it was a price error. They can't even get their story straight. So off to the BBB I went. next stop if need be, FTC to file a false advertisment charge since they refuse to sell at the price they advertised.
Haha, I got two!

I've built three PCs since 2016 and none have had optical drives. One of these days I'll have to get some sort of external drive for burning/ripping CDs, but that's only because I have lot of old music I made in my younger years that are on CDs and I need to get them onto my PC eventually before the discs start to rot. On that note, can anyone recommend a good USB drive for such a purpose? I guess now is as good a time as any to actually get it done.

And he doesn't mean Claptrap... Seriously, way worse.
I was mostly listening to music in the background while playing BL3 and didn't pay much attention to the story. I definitely thought the antagonists were obnoxious but I'm not sure which ally everyone is referring to. Was it the underwear guy?

I used PayPal and got it within a couple hours yesterday so the whole thing seems to be a crapshoot.
Slightly off topic: Walmart has DK tropical freeze for $40. Why isn’t anyone excited about that?
$40 for a game that came out 7 years ago is hard to get excited about, even if it is Nintendo.

It was that legendary 3-shot poison pistol wasn't it? That thing was hella powerful too.
Probably should have stored it in my bank or something but I eventually did sell it once I found something better (inventory management is one thing I struggle with in these games--to me a good inventory is an empty inventory). It definitely was a legendary item because I distinctly remember thinking it was the first gun I found in the game that was deserving of the moniker. But if memory serves it was an incendiary 6-shooter with super-fast loading and high-criticals and everything it hit exploded.
Anyway, I plunged back into my backlog last night and started playing Ghosts of Tsushima on PS5. It's a bit of a slow start and the gameplay feels very derivative but once the world opens up it's a lot of fun to explore and it's a great looking game. Not sure if it has much chance of ever hitting PC but hopefully Sony continues to expand the catalog of titles they're willing to release because this is a very nice alternative to the typical Ubisoft blueprint. The next game in my backlog is Ass Creed Valhalla so it will be interesting to play those two back-to-back. Alternatively, I could also finally start Sekiro but I'm still too scared.
