Mostly for Gamegirlpocket, but others please feel free to chime in...
Looking into the Mega Man series for the first time... I don't have any nostalgia toward the series, as it was always just something that friends talked about, and I think I've only played less than 10 minutes of the games in my life. With so much on sale for the series, I have no clue where to begin. What would be a good starting point? What are the best games in the series?
I feel the first 4 Mega Man X games can be enjoyed be pretty much anyone. The original Mega Man games are great, but they're definitely not for everyone. I'd try out the X series first, then if you still want more try out the originals.

Do people actually watch Gotham?
I wish they showed gameplay, I assume we will see it at E3. This literally could have described The Force Unleashed 10 years ago.
It's really bad, takes the story in a terrible direction compared to the first, and feels unfinished likely due to being made during the death of LucasArts. You're better off with any of the recent OG games they made BC, or replaying TFU 1.
It has been a while, since launch for me, but gameplay-wise I felt like the game brought little to the table. The addition of a second lightsaber is essentially cosmetic only and brings nothing new to the table. There also wasn't much new for force powers. The biggest problem is the extremely short length of the campaign, with only 4 real levels (one of which is reused) and way fewer boss fights than the previous game. I finished it in under 4 hours. The first game is a roller coaster of new planets and experiences, has several unique bosses, and has a lot more care put into every faucet of the game. (Tons of easter eggs, Starkiller's outfit changes several times through the story, a lot of unlockable outfits, skins, and cheats)
As for story, I can feel you but not everyone is in the John "games are like porn" Carmack camp from 20 years ago. The Force Unleashed was heavily marketed with its story just as much as it was the force powers, with the game featuring a bunch of interaction with movie characters and being the canon (at the time) story between episodes 3 and 4. They do some interesting things with Starkiller and TFU2 basically flushes all that for a bizarre clone story that somewhat shits on his character arc and really destroys the setting if you think about it at all. (They can clone someone with force powers, especially as powerful as his? Why not clone Vader himself?) Even in their own game they hid a hugely important piece of the story that just makes you question what happened unless you finding enough collectibles.
Hell, I think the gameplay argument is weak anyways. Outside of the force powers the combat in these games is only serviceable, and maybe the platforming can do something for some players. If you want pure character-action gameplay there are a bunch of better options from the era, DMC4, Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising, Darksiders 1 and 2.
After reading your post from just the last 2 pages it looks like you just like to hate on things, so I'm just gonna say this real quick and be done. Calling it a really bad game is just dumb. Are those games you listed better than Force Unleashed 2? Maybe, but he said it made him want to play a Star Wars game, and those aren't Star Wars games. Force Unleashed 2 definitely has flaws but it's still a fun game, especially if you're a Star Wars fan. And like you said, it's a pretty short game. So if for some reason he doesn't like it, atleast it'll be over quick.

Hollow Knight is my favorite game from the last few years. I was blown away by how much quality content a $15 indie game had. It's a steal at $9.
I just finished Song of the Deep yesterday. Fun gameplay, good puzzles, nice music and a decent story. It was a nice relaxing metroidvania, I definitely recommend at $3.75

So, I just finished Hollow Knight and wanted to say that it is an absolute steal at $12. I wasn't expecting it to have as much content as it has. I think the sale ends in a few hours so you should do the devs and yourselves a favor and definitely pick this game up if you haven't already. Literally everything about the game is incredible.
