We bought a new laptop and although it's billed as a "gaming laptop" I wonder what kind of games it will play, at which settings. It's a Dell Inspiron 7559. What should I expect with these specs:
It was a good price, and there was no way we were going to spend $1,000+ on anything more powerful. I'm happy with the purchase. I just want to adjust my expectations before the Steam sale begins.
- Intel i5-6300HQ 2.3 GHz Quad-Core (6M Cache, Turbo up to 3.2 GHz)
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 4GB GDDR5
- 8 GB DDR3L / 256 GB Solid-State Drive

Don't buy Beats, please don't buy Beats. They're over priced, plastic, garbage.

Not sure where to post this but my son wants a Alienware Alpha machine.. I don't know much about them, thoughts on them would be great. Also does Dell usually put these on sale? I see that Dell has $100 off the I5 or I7 one right now. Thanks for the help.

I agree with archbishop, it ran fine for me. It auto set everything to low at 4K, don't know why but whatever. Dropped it down to 1080 with everything set to ultra and it ran mostly 60 but dropped to 40, messed with the FXAA a little and it's running mostly 60 now.
Good grief, this game is a BEAST to max out or is poorly optimized one. I still had 2GB of VRAM left with everything on 1440p ultra and it was only 30fps then.

It plays games better than the current gen, came with a wireless 360 controller and wireless adapter, had a haswell i3 in it, upgradable, smaller than a wii, can be used as an HTPC, emulator box, steam streaming link, plus full steam/origin/gog etc.
The only good piece of tech in it is the integrated 750 graphics card with 2GB GDDR5 VRAMz. Mobo looked like an outdated micro ATX. I wouldn't have paid $190 on it; most televisions and BR players are multimedia players, and it's mediocre for a gaming PC even at that price.
