Noon ET. It's in the OP, for future reference.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if Nintendo does things differently with Friday releases since they usually do store updates on Thursday.

The marketing is really pushing both modes pretty hard.  If I had to lean towards which one is most represented it's the portable mode.  Not just as a traditional portable but also the table top portable mode.

I don't know what makes you think they are selling it as a console first.  Have you not seen all the commercials?  I know many don't watch tv shows anymore, but when I'm watching stuff off my dvr and fastforwarding I've managed to catch maybe a dozen switch commercials over the past two weeks.  Handheld mode get's more air time.

I think it's accurate to describe Nintendo's marketing of the switch more as a new home console. It could've just been an hd portable with full featured controllers attached to the sides. But they insisted on including the dock to connect to the tv and making the controllers detachable and able to slide into the grips or having the pro controller. All of their design choices have presented the switch as a new home console with the gimmick of being able to literally pick it up and take it wherever you go. Considering the portable aspect of the console, it makes sense that Nintendo would highlight that aspect in marketing so people can see what differentiates it from other consoles.

I walked into a meijer at 5am to buy BotW for Wii U and the employee just straight up asked me if I wanted to buy a switch. I caved and said sure.
