Sorry for not replying earlier. I know and can vouch for HighOnPCP. With that said if anyone has a spare Dying Light share (phantom or resell) I'll front the money for it and any other shares he might be interested in until he's earned enough feedback here. Thanks.

Fuck. Why is this redesign such a hassle to navigate on mobile?

Apparently GF will still go up at 12 AM EST and the theme will be abailable to anyone who buys it. At least this is what someone on gaf who just contacted CS said. So take that for what it's worth.

Damn lol was feeling a little disillusioned with this place after getting into another petty argument yesterday. Then I see a message from Q that reminded me of why I fucks with yall. That sort of generosity is what defines this community, not the BS. And again, sorry if I cost you that business man.

^ With that said, I want to go on record to say I was wrong about Driveclub (been playing Q's copy). Actually having a lot of fun and it's the first game to pull me away from Destiny. A buddy and I were playing until like 4AM yesterday. If you want a challenging racer that rewards the use of technique give it a chance. Understanding what it demands is key.

That's where I went wrong when I tried it in October. You have to actually brake, take apexes, manage lines and be consistent over several laps. And on turns where braking isn't quite necessary (but neither is full throttle), breeze through those turns *off* the accelerator. And pay attention to the green, yellow, and red flags! There isn't a road guide like in Forza. Not nearly as tedious and unforgiving as G. Turismo, but not as arcadey as something like Burnout/NFS. It's weird... but it works.

It's also freaking gorgeous once you push past those early circuits. Easily one of the best on PS4. Infamous still might hold the crown but it's a close second. I can't believe Sony fucked up the launch so bad man lol. I thought the game was trash before putting time into it. This is easily one of the better racers released in years and it seems like nobody gives a shit. Shame. Sorry for the long rant.

----
I know stillshadow said he was down to join a club together. Again, anyone else?? I started one just as a placeholder ("breakfuss club"...original, I know) but I'll abandon it for something that suits everyone. Or you can join if you don't mind the corny name. Doesn't matter. Being in a club is critical though. You're handicapped without one.

I can't believe I'm getting sucked into your classic name drop bait tactic, but I'm having a shitty day so here fucking goes.

Spoilered to spare the decent humans in here:

Spoiler

So. Now I'm done with this. And when I say I'm done with this, I'm done with this, not like you who say you're done and then go on for another 3 paragraphs about how your done.

I'm sorry you were going through that, Zimm. Seriously. Had I known I would have offered words of encouragement as well. We don't know each other in real life but I wish you the best. I still don't see how his message to you absolves him of being a jerk to other people but I'll leave it alone.

It's not so much about "being a victim" as it is a genuine desire for this place to return to what it once was. I joined CAG while I was still working overseas and this thread helped me get through some of the severe home sickness. You all helped reinvigorate my interest in gaming. CAG (and by extension the PSN thread) was an escape. It's why I keep coming back despite the bullshit. We've always been rude to each other but it was never an outright disregard for people's feelings.

Your story illustrates how you never know what the person on the other side of the screen is going through. I'm not playing "victim". I wasn't even the target of everyone's ire this time. I'm just tired of seeing people leave over petty shit that can easily be avoided. RPG might in fact be the worst "booster EVAR" but why is it necessary to come here and talk about him? He stopped posting altogether and no one seems to care. How is that okay? I don't want to be part of a community like that. I'd speak up for you just the same. Damn. But whatever. I only do it because I like to "argue". Give me a break.

Same shit with NinjaSquirrel. I won't speak on his behalf but he feels like there's no point in coming back. And that's fucking sad. Practically begged him to come back and he refuses. I'm tired of the hostility that people like Topside fuel but I'm done arguing about this stupid shit. If you guys think it's okay to interact this way then fine. Defend the assholes because they provide the occasional laugh. I'm over it.

I said to the dude at least 4-5 times that if it was something legitimate that made him not use a mic, to just tell us and we would back off. I even said he could just PM me about it. I got nothing back. Dude isn't shy, because he used to talk plenty in streams he'd watch. I know he reads the mexican ps blog regularly, and he once showed a screenshot where he had a bunch of Spanish related sites open. So I've always been of the assumption that English is his second language.

But when you're in a boosting session, and you ask to go first, and then try to bail after you get your trophies, or you keep spamming messages telling everyone else to hurry up, that's being a selfish asshole. Not a single person here was calling him a selfish asshole because of his being shy, anxious, etc. You were the first to make that connection, so...way to go!

The rest of us were calling him a selfish asshole because during boosting sessions, he acts like a selfish asshole.

Damn, dude you're ruthless lol. I'll leave it alone. Again, I was not defending him as I've never even played with the guy. Seemed a bit uncharacteristic since he's pretty friendly on CAG but if you insist that was how it went down then it is what it is. I was only throwing out possible explanations for his lack of communication. I had a bit of an accent as well so I can relate to not wanting to constantly repeat myself with people I've just met (I've brought this up in the GS thread). He damn near always posted in Morse code so (perhaps wrongly) I assumed that might have been what was causing the issue over the mic. You win! A true #MasterRaider & #MasterDebater. Teach me your ways, sensei.

RPG...if you're out there bro...we miss you. Come back.

Still waffling on Danganronpa. Anyone besides Vig play it and care to weigh in? $20 feels like a lot for a digital title with limited replay value (from what I understand).

I'm playing it now. It's a visual novel with some puzzles thrown in. It's very Japanese. It's very weird. Have you tried 999, Ace Attorney, Hotel Dusk, Ghost Trick...stuff like that? If you enjoy those type of games then go for it (especially at $20).

Hard to give impressions without spoiling. I'm still on the fence about the writing and pacing. The games I listed above all pretty much hooked me from the very beginning while it's taken more time to get into Danganronpa. Two characters in particular I find incredibly grating. That said, things pick up around the first trial.

Also, Gamestop has pre-owned physical copies for $24 if you can find it.

you are making blanket statements that has nothing to do with the actual situation--

I guess the entire state lives in the same house. I do not understand how you assume everyone in the state drives the same distance at all times. The tax is a usage tax. if you have a big tank and drive 5 miles a day, you will pay less than somebody with a small tank driving 30 miles a day. Is that really so complex?

as for your definition of poor- The term poor is a general term. You are stating a family of four making 25k a year is not poor. The definition of poor is irrelevant to the issue. The issue is there are many of americans living paycheck to paycheck. When raising taxes these are the people affected the most. Making 100k, without discretionary income, is not living paycheck to paycheck. that is a lifestyle choice

Making 25k while raising a family of four is a hardship- or in your definition not poor especially if they drive

On my downtime I like to peruse sites such as National Review and Heritage Foundation and their exhaustive research shows most poor Americans have amenities like cars, air conditioning and refrigerators. "Poor" my ass. These motherfuckers out here paying NO federal income tax (lawwwd) and living in that kind of decadence. An increased gas tax serves them right.

And, Gator, I appreciate the words of wisdom but I have one dad here and his name is Tyler. If he doesn't mind these kind of talks they should be permitted.

There's no way to avoid the echo chamber without removing the ability to choose what you surround yourself with. People hang out with people with similar viewpoints and interests, watch movies and TV shows that agree with their world view, and prefer to hear the opinions of people they agree with.

The echo chamber effect is really just a consequence of the advancement of communication. Previously you were stuck talking to the assholes in your immediate area whether they agreed with you on throwing rocks at gay people and blacks or not, but with 5000 television channels anybody can find their own echo chamber. The same is true of the internet allowing any viewpoint, no matter how niche, to find supporters enough to provide the illusion of legitimacy.

Someone finally drafted a thread mission statement.

any device powered by an internal battery not having a charger included is stupid. i don't care if every device in the world uses the same charger. i shouldn't have to buy an extra charger to use a device i just paid 100s of dollars for. also, wth does vita onboard memory have to do with devices not having a charger?

I'm not defending either from a consumer's point of view. Clearly it's indefensible. Only commented on the business rationale. Accessories have a high profit margin. It's a stealthy way to milk people. Lots of companies do it, including our lord and savior. Not sure what's so difficult to understand here.

I usually would, but was under the impression FL takes place before SS which made me question which was the better approach. I can't imagine FL had any gameplay improvements or anything, either, so the order question really depends on the story/character elements in both game (neither of which I know the first thing about.)

I still need to knock out Festival of Blood, but that'll be pretty short. Not sure if I want to take a break between that and the PS4 titles or if I'll want to jump back in. Depends on how much I like FoB I suppose. I've heard it's a lot of fun, though.

I've completed both. Definitely play Second Son before First Light if you can. Especially since you're someone who cares about the smallest plot details. Not a huge deal either way, though. FL almost plays like a glorified demo so it was likely a move to hook people who haven't tried SS.

#12391245 CAG Favorite Albums of 2014

Posted by breakfuss on 07 January 2015 - 01:01 AM

Just wondering what CAG's favorite albums were from 2014. I mostly listen to hip-hop with a little bit of elecronic and r&b mixed in, but I'd love recommendations from any genre. No rules here. Post as little or many as you like. No need to put the albums covers (unless you want to). Oh, and if there's stuff pre-2014 that you were into post that as well. My Top Albums:

1. Freddie Gibbs & Madlib - Piñata

It's my dream to write descriptive trophy guides on PST.org:

1. Get all of the trophies by getting the trophies.
2. Enjoy your plat.

Ayyy, this was funny. And it didn't require using one of your tumblr-y GIFs.

If I want to get started with Doctor Who, where do I start?

I've asked this question a million times and never get the same answer. I'd really like to give it a shot but damn is it overwhelming. I can't see myself sitting through ~30 seasons of anything.

Unless it's The Wire.

Breakfuss!!!! Reply to my message, DONT IGNORE ME!

I'm clearly one of the more communicative people here so if I didn't reply to Greg's messages it was with good reason. I played the game once (which Raiborg confirmed). I received the game 4 days after I asked for it and by that point didn't have anytime to play. Simple.

That said, I sent him money. Pretty much the last thread on CAG worth posting in so its not worth any upset feelings. Happy New Years, everyone.
