Not really much of a PC gamer but I decided to pick up the Half-Life complete bundle for $3.58. Excited to see what all the hype is about.

Considered getting the whole Valve bundle for a few dollars more, but I have the Portal games on Switch and I'm not sure I would play the other stuff.

HL2 has aged pretty damn well. Original HL, I dunno, it is 25 years old by now. Wouldn't be shocked if it was rough to play through. If you want to play the first game it might be best to jump straight to Black Mesa, provided you have a build that can handle it (doesn't require much, but still considerably more than the original and you say you aren't much of a PC gamer so I'm not sure what you've got to work with).

Outside of the Portal games, the only other thing I'd have personally recommended from the Valve bundle is L4D2 which is still a whole lot of fun with a good group, and much better than Back 4 Blood.

Tomorrow's Freebie:

BJ Blazkowicz could probably guess what it is.

If we're talking "Annoying Humble issues", I'd like to know when this monstrosity is going to finally get removed from my Keys page (or at least have it not show up even when I tick "Hide redeemed keys"):

So, if you have $13.50 and a time machine you can save $1.50.

Damn, really wish I had $13.50.

I loved Dead Island too but I think a lot of that is because it was the right game at the right time. A relatively fresh idea before I had personally reached peak open-world fatigue. If I played it today for the first time or even its upcoming sequel, I doubt I'd stick with it. But at the time, I loved it enough to play through it twice, and solo to boot.

Also, I'm done with Dying Light. After what had to have been the dozenth straight "Go to X to get/do something > Oops, sorry loser, it's not here > Go to Y back in the opposite direction to get/do something" quest, I've had enough.

I started playing CivVI when I got it for free on Epic. Anyone know if that save will move over?

Supposedly the game saves to the cloud via a connected 2K account and not through Steam or Epic themselves. So assuming you had an account from your time playing it on Epic, you should be all set when you start up on Steam. Alternatively, your save files should be located here if you want to manually back them up and save them yourself without using a 2K account:

%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VI\Saves\

Don't have the game myself though so if any of this is wrong, hopefully someone else can correct me.

Sounds like throughout the week, Humble will be temporarily bringing back some of the bigger bundles of the year. Supplies are limited; when they're gone, they're gone. First up: The 2K Bundle from September (although missing the two previously-included golf games).

So does anyone know if they email you or something if you miraculously win? I literally hid the browser I have it open in.

From what I've heard, yes, they e-mail you.

Confirming their desire to make lots and lots of money, Supergiant Games has announced Hades II.

Backbone doesn't look too bad despite the meh reviews.

Just a heads up to anyone interested in Backbone: It's pretty bad. Great first act, goes completely off the rails the rest of the way. Choices don't matter. Trailers show off stealth that is hardly ever used. Sound mix was uneven when I played at launch (might have been fixed since). Dialogue is fairly good, though. Art style is gorgeous, too.

Normally I'd recommend playing the demo first to see for yourself but I can't even do that because the demo is so completely unlike everything that follows afterward.

Some people are never convinced; I've seen one guy say Digital Foundry just doesn't know how to configure the game's settings correctly. :dunce:

"Have they tried turning VSync off and on again?"

Despite having the worst title of any game I can think of in the history of gaming...

"The Callisto Protocol" does sound like the name of a taut political courtroom drama.
