Plus, this content creator is pretty cool.

Spoiler

Yeah, Russ is the reason I bought a Miyoo in the first place. Great channel.

The Chinese retro handheld space is doing great stuff, too.

My Miyoo Mini has become a fantastic "Picross and Tetris on the toilet" device.

Some of you could use this:

So, to summarize. Humble announces the next monthly bundle. You have til the last Tuesday of the month to claim the games yourself. At which point you'll be charged. But if you don't claim them by then and haven't paused already you'll be autocharged. At which point the games are yours if you wanted them or not

But for us with the annual plan. It's credits that are either "charged" for that month or "paused" for use the next month. Correct?

This all sounds correct to me.

Curious how high the temps are that we're talking about here. I'm gonna guess it's approaching triple digits? But yeah, it sounds like it's throttling and eventually shutting down so it's gotta be the watercooler. Can you tell if the pump itself is still working? Do you have it set up in a way where you can read the pump speed through your monitoring software? Is it making any noise at all, whether it be normal or abnormal?

I bounced off Weird West very quickly and it was because of the controls. Whether I used keyboard and mouse or a controller, it came across as clunky and never really felt "right". Which is a shame because it really looks like the kind of game I'd otherwise enjoy.

This sea-sonic unit is probably the highest quality psu I've ever seen at the $50 price point. Edit: oos already.

Just bumping this to say it's back in stock. Had to talk myself out of getting it since my EVGA G2 is still chugging along.

I consider myself pretty lousy with horror and I'm usually pretty slow and hesitant with progress at the beginning and then as I play I get less scared and more confident...

I felt the same way here. I think part of it is getting acclimated to the game itself, and part of it is a by-product of getting new weapons and finding tons of ammo and resources along the way to put you at ease. And RE7 does give you a ton of resources, at least on normal difficulty. Getting the shotgun is the big moment where I started to think, "This won't be so bad."

I enjoy "horror" games (RE, SH, etc.), but I have yet to find one genuinely scary.

It's a disappointing genre for me most of the time.

How are you with first-person horror games where you have no means to defend yourself (i.e. Outlast, Amnesia, SOMA, etc.)? Because that's where I draw the line. I absolutely don't think I could play through Amnesia without nervously shaking my legs the whole time.

at 1PM EST when Steam 'Autumn Sale' starts, do they have all titles for the sale that they were going to, or is it a trickle over coming days?

In theory everything should go live at 1 PM ET. In practice it can take upwards of 30 minutes or so for the discounts to actually post.

I honestly thought that RE7 was the scariest in the franchise but the end of that game is just awful. Don't want to post spoilers but the parts I think you're talking about just honestly was a complete buzzkill for me for what was an otherwise terrifying game. Not sure if you played village yet but I found it to be more enjoyable through the whole of it even if it's less scary than 7 - altho even 8s ending drags a bit

Spoiler

Re: scariness, it took me *years* to finally force myself to play RE7. Couldn't get through the tutorial when I tried it on Game Pass a couple years back, kept putting it off after picking it up in the RE Bundle. I'm just not good with first-person horror. But it ended up being a lot more manageable than I expected.

And Village is up next, probably early next year.

Finished up Resident Evil 7 tonight. Fantastic overall. Successfully wiped away the bad taste left in my mouth from RE3 Remake, even if the pacing takes a bit of a dive over the last two hours and the gameplay starts to veer off course a bit. "Strong start, weak final act" seems to be a common theme for the series, at least in the ones I've played.

If you already have the original Crysis remastered, you can buy the "complete your collection" bundle and get both Crysis 2 and 3 remastered for $22.49

That bundle pricing almost seems like a pricing error, right? I mean, buy one of them for $22.49 or buy both for... $22.49. Tough decision.

Also, full bundle works out to $25.47 if you own none of them but do have the original Crysis.

At best, Elden Ring probably hits 20% off on Steam this season. The Voidu deal will be tough to top for the next few months.

any cheap games ($5 or less) y'all recommend from the GMG sale?

The Last Campfire is $3.60 if you have XP Gold. Close to an historical low. Admittedly I haven't played it yet but it's on my wishlist and looks good. Has a Steam demo if you wanna try it out first. Moon Hunters is a buck and change and is pretty good too. And then I mentioned XCOM 2 which is $2.50-ish.

Worth adding that more games will get added over the course of the sale. Capcom, Square Enix and Sony specifically don't go live until next Tuesday.

So the Steam version of Hitman 3 actually comes down to $17.22 for me after an extra XP Gold discount. Getting tempting. Worth checking your Gold Offers page if you're eligible for some better discounts on other games.

anything note worthy in that GMG sale?

New Tales from the Borderlands dropped fast to 50% off. XCOM 2 was around $2.50 (Complete was closer to $7). Hitman 3 I think is at its lowest non-Epic price yet as well ($21)

I forget how these annual subs work. Is it essentially 12 "credits" so you can skip months whenever you like? Or do you automatically get each of the next 12 months?

Works out to $7.42 a month which is undeniably a fantastic deal IMO. And I considered it for a split second before realizing I haven't subbed since January.
