I may pickup the old ones for cheap after I've made my way through the new trilogy. Hitman 3 is super addictive and I'll have access to 1/2 tomorrow. I've started doing some of the side content like elusive targets and what feels like 30 minutes can quickly turn into 2 or 3 hours of playtime.

Man, you're in for a treat playing Sapienza for the first time. I'd argue the H1+H2 maps are better overall than those in H3, and I really loved H3. H2 maps in particular are just so consistently good across the board, especially the DLC.

We need more weird-ass typing games. Give me antihero Mavis Beacon typing her way through post-war alternate history settings.

On the off chance that you love classic P&C and don't have a bunch of their games already, that's such a no-brainer purchase. Don't think I've ever played a bad Wadjet Eye game before.

Apropos of nothing: I'm only through the first two locations of Hitman 3 but I'm *this* close to calling the modern-day Hitman games my favorite video game trilogy ever. Would push slightly past Dark Souls. I mean my goodness, even a bad Hitman map is just wonderful to explore.

Hey, I also bought games. And not just one or a couple, but a few! But definitely not several. I mean who am I, Mr. Moneybags?

- Hitman 3 (because I can only wait so long for it to show up in a Humble Choice)

- God of War (technically bought before the Steam sale and not on Steam but whatever)

- Pilgrims (Amanita doesn't miss)

From what I gather only the Hitman 2 DLC adds substantial content (2 new maps). The Hitman 3 DLC all seems to be fluff. It looks like the best way to buy it is to buy Hitman 3 for $20.99 on sale and then buy the Hitman 2 DLC for $10 on the 26th. All you will be missing after that are the seven deadly sins and some random skins/contracts.

The way it reads, if you're missing the two Hitman 2 DLC maps then you'd need to go all in on the $30 Deluxe upgrade to get them after the 26th. Which makes it a potentially wise move to just get Hitman 2 Gold for $12.xx from GMG while its still on sale and then add Hitman 3 base while it's on sale ($17.xx at GMG or $21 at Steam).

EDIT: Reading the IO Interactive page on the transition, it seems like only on Steam will there be a $30 "Complete Your Collection"-style deluxe upgrade. On other storefronts it looks like the three DLC in the deluxe upgrade will be available a la cart for $10 a piece.

-> For non-owners, $70 for the entire Hitman: World of Assassination Package (with All Access Passes/DLC's for each game).

Just a correction: $70 only gets you the DLC for the first game. It's $30 extra for the Hitman 2 DLC, Hitman 3 Deluxe, and Hitman 3 Seven Deadly Sins, with the cost going down if you own any of the three already. Everything I've heard about Hitman 3 is that the paid DLC is easily skippable, but the two DLC maps for Hitman 2 (NY and Haven Island) are terrific.

What's weird is that unless I'm missing something, if you own Hitman 1 GOTY and Hitman 2 Gold already, and just want Hitman 3 base, the price is technically going up. At least the MSRP is, from $60 to $70. But I'm guessing sale prices will be roughly identical.

If it's just the base version of Doom then I'll pass because that DLC isn't cheap by itself. I'm waiting for the deluxe version to hit around $10.

Yeah, if you're set on the DLC you might as well just get Deluxe. Main benefit here is getting the base game for cheap first to decide if you want to invest any further. But Bethesda is notoriously bad when it comes to pricing season passes on their own (see: Fallout 4, Skyrim)

Leaked January Choice headliners:

Doom Eternal

OlliOlli World Rad Edition

Tribes of Midgard

If it's indeed the Rad Edition for OlliOlli, that would include the expansion. Doom Eternal is most certainly just the base game.

Hope everyone is having a great holiday season so far. What’s y’all plans for the new year?

My plan is to say I want to buy a new video card but then look at the prices and not buy a new video card and say I'll just buy a console instead but then I won't do that either so I'll just keep what I have and tell myself this was the plan all along.

I also need to finally start renovating this spare bedroom that I've been putting off for the last six years.

And my own personal top-3 for the year:

1. Signalis

2. Tunic

3. Not For Broadcast

Peaky Blinders: Mastermind has been delisted from Steam:

Still up at a handful of other stores if you never got it from whatever Humble Choice bundle it was in a year or two ago. WinGameStore has it cheapest at $2.49, GMG and Fanatical also have it.

Metro Redux is today's Epic launcher freebie

Tomorrow is rumored to be Death Stranding, if Wario64 is right.

Hint looks just like the dog tag looking thing Norman Reedus' character wears in the game.

I actually just got a steam deck and bought Black Mesa and Half—Life 2 from a previous sale. Is there a best order to play these? I know Black Mesa retells the first game story wise, but going to HL2 right after might be weird since it’s so old.

HL2 might be as close as an FPS can get to being timeless. Excellent pacing and storytelling. Terrific atmosphere. And it's remarkable how good the Source engine looks 20 years later. I wouldn't worry at all about playing it after Black Mesa.
