#14451191 Japanese Niche Games Deals & Discussion Thread 4.0

Posted by cyko on 26 December 2021 - 05:28 PM

I have one of the older Etrian games on DS (2 I think), but if I want to pick up one of the more recent ones on 3DS, should I just go with the latest Nexus, or would one of the others be a better choice?

I would also recommend either EO IV or Untold 2 as the best choices.

I feel like I missed an announcement or something. Did humble just stop releasing video game bundles permanently?

#13864473 Target Ad 10/29 - 11/4 BUY 2 GET 1 FREE IS BACK BITCHES

Have any recommendations?

If you have never really gotten into board games, Splendor, Ticket to Ride Europe and Carcassonne would be an excellent pack of 3 games to start out with. You would pay around $65 total for that 3 pack of games, which is a very solid deal - especially for Ticket to Ride Europe.

FYI - The Ad says that All Video Games AND All Board Games are B2G1 (excluding Switch games and Cards Against Humanity). The Ad says you can mix and match between Board Games and Video Games, so this deal may have more value if you are looking for both.

a $3 BTA? Yeesh... That's ridiculously low. Like - lower than the Mobile Bundle low.

Is this bundle really THAT bad? Or are some people protesting due to the IGN buyout?

Saw this article on the GameDeals subreddit. Great read, highly recommended.

That's an interesting read. I didn't realize how much HumbleBundle stood to gain by collecting and selling everyone's personal information. I'm realistic enough to understand that they are a business and they are in business to make money. But That's pretty devious.

There are some great 4X games in this bundle, but a lot of this stuff was bundled not that long ago. I am only missing Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion. If anyone wants to split that one off from your bundle, let me know.

Everyone who thinks there will be enough of these to go around for each person who wants one is delusional. Yes, the supply is 3-4 times more, but the demand is probably 10 times more. There is no way the supply will meet the demand.

I got in line about an hour ago. Now up to 48 people with about 50 consoles.

This may not be an FAQ per say but may be helpful in overall management of the thread. Apparently, for some odd reason, it seems unneeded in other threads.

Some notes on what is expected of users. A list of behavior or social expectations.

1. Read the Faq
2. Read the thread.
3. Learn how to search
A. The thread
B. The forum (s)
C. The web
D. Pricing sites for retailers.

And that doing this earns respect in the community because it keeps you from looking lazy and ignorant - qualities that generally hold no value.

Maybe a section about what earns respect. And what is helpful/useful information to be included in a post. And or what is not.

Also a link to the General Cag rules and regs.

I think it's unneeded in other threads, because nearly every other thread is all about deals for people to buy games to play (Ha! Yeah, right!) or - more likely - games for their personal collection or backlog. More than other threads, people look at Gamestop trading as a way to make money. That's why it attracts more rude and lazy people - because they are trying to make a quick buck. There's something about the prospect of making money that makes people act crazy.

Any good Board Games that would be on sale?

Or more so, good price for them?

I may be a bit late for you, but here are a few I noticed. None are spectacular, but these prices are decent for solid games -

Codenames - 14.99

Ticket to Ride Europe - 32.49

Splendor - 21.00

Ticket to Ride - 29.59

7 Wonders - 22.90

Scythe - 62.35

Dominion 2nd Edition - 30.69

Blood Rage  - 54.99

Tzolkin - 36.26

Power Grid - 29.97

Roll For the Galaxy - 38.90

Those are all great games and about as cheap as you will find any of them.

From what I can tell, EVERYTHING in EVERY Category that was marked Prime Day Deal was part of the glitch. This was way bigger than just video games. The whole website was practically giving stuff away. I will be shocked if they honor any of the orders.

If it wasn't for this thread alerting me to the NES shipment at Toys R Us, I never would have gotten one. And I would still be grumpy about it!

So even though it's technically off topic, I am okay with mentioning the NES. At least until we get any kind of news about the SNES!

Yes. But YMMV on how many the employee will let you use on one item. Most have let me use 3 or 4 as long as they are all different. But once or twice, I was told I needed to buy as many items as I was using certificates.
