They actually did the Turkey Day Marathon thing on Youtube yesterday that was hosted by Joel (also serving as a boost for the Kickstarter thing). Was nice to watch a few episodes on Thanksgiving like I used to.
I'm starting to train in a few weeks. Not full time, but a tiered class that fits with my existing work/travel schedule. I have zero delusions of grandeur, but the workshop on Sunday was so fun, so exciting, that I have to at least learn to do this.
I think I'm being honest with myself and respecting the wrestling industry as well by saying I see this as a hobby. I'm fit and am willing to give 100% to this, but I also have a good career and already make decent money - most importantly, I'm starting in my mid-30's, so this is absolutely NOT a career move for me.
Nice, get at it. I was close to going to Al Snow's gym in the mid-90's but opted for a different career path. Was close enough that I went down and discussed money (and still have his business card with a typo on it). There is zeeeeeero chance I'd be able to pull that off now due to health issues that have popped up over the past few years (I'm about your age now) so I'm impressed you're going ahead with it.
If you ever run across a guy doing a heel Freddie Mercury character at a midwest/east coast show, I work with that dude. Good luck sir.
