#13841069 XBL Deals - 2017, Part II

These fake GwG images keep getting more and more outlandish.

In all honesty, blinkknot's fake lineup with the sandwich game and Three Men and a Baby looks better than this. It's a bit sad that that's the real McCoy.

screw you for not loving Bethesda press conference, it was the perfect party all the annoying people left and then the drugs really kicked in

Are you sure you weren't talking about Devolver Digital's conference? Of course, in that conference, everyone stayed to the end, and were at the edge of their seats. The drugs kicked in from the start, though. They had to have been taking LSD in that conference, considering how it was.

My Facebook feed is full of "Once again, Sony are the E3 kings!" posts. I need new friends. Sony fanboys might actually be worse than the PC Master Race. Microsoft's showing wasn't fantastic, but Sony's was embarrassing. I'm shocked there wasn't some sort of major announcement of any kind. It was just a bunch of sequels we knew were coming, and a zombie game.

Not as bad as the "Cult of Nintendo" fanboys. Man, talk about a serious case of Stockholm Syndrome! They'll defend them, even if they are doing something incompetent and anti-consumer.

The Wii U version has some frame rate issues but they don't ruin the experience any. If you get the Wii U version, I suggest playing it with the Pro Controller. The Gamepad serves no purpose.

This is the best looking Wii U game I've ever played. I'm sure this game pushes that hardware to its max.

Not entirely true. There are a few shrines that feature motion control manipulated puzzles, but out of the 120 or so shrines in the game, they are extremely rare. I have been using my Wii U Pro controller almost all the time, and had to switch to the Gamepad maybe twice so far, and I've been playing for quite a while. If you have a Wiimote and Nunchuk, I think that will work for the motion control based shrines, as well.

The Xbox Live Countdown deal for Christmas day is: NBA 2K '17 Virtual Currency discounts. They probably thought coal was too good for us.

I absolutely loved Lost Odyssey.  Very, very good RPG.
Isn't Blue Dragon supposed to be free, also?  I don't see it out there free yet.
EDIT:  Nevermind.  I didn't read the article properly.  Blue Dragon is just "available digitally".  Not free.

The fact that both Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon are available digitally is a major blow to scalpers, since it's now available in a persistent source. The fact that Lost Odyssey is available for free just adds insult to injury. Of course none of this matters if you are adamantly against digital.

I think everyone just gets the Raptor next time they log in (or maybe soon afterward if it is sent out in waves).  It was already there when I logged in rather than I had to play on the 15th and then it was sent to me.  They can't gift it immediately so it was just there already.  I'm pretty sure that they have gone back to a system where you will receive any cars that were previously gifted when you first play a la FM3.  When they made that switch to where you only got stuff after you started playing and that stuff expired in a few weeks people got upset (FH1).  I'd be very interested to know what cars you have gift messages for when you get that far so please post or pm that.
Dirt 3 was widely considered a great racer/rally game by critics or those who actually played it, but most non-rally fans barely know it exists.  Remember the disappointment here and elsewhere about "another crappy GWG" when it hit GWG?  I constantly have to talk it up to other gamers, many of whom don't believe rally racing is a real life sport.

Thanks, I should have been more clear on VIPs receiving a second truck.  Also, my Outback is a 3 and Yarr is unlocked, but I was able to run the special event by going to the rivals messages and accepting it there.  Also, online freeroam has all activities unlocked.

Fixed that nasty NASCAR lingo for ya!

ICE RACING!!!!!  Seriously, why has this never made it back into any racing game ever (4 or 2 wheels even)????  High hopes of it being included in the winter expansion.  Dirt 2 was awesome, too.  It's problem was it needed a few control tweaks that fixed the slightly floaty handling, but no tweaks were allowed for online racing.  I really wish Rallisport Challenge would make a return in some (good) form or another whether new game, remake, or with the introduction of superBC from OGXbox to Xbox 1.

Seriously! Ice racing is intense! So intense in fact, that the cars need special studded tires in order to get traction on the ice.

Shocking news. RC2 is my favorite racing game of all time, though Forza Horizon 3 is pretty damn awesome and of course still waiting for Burnout ripoff that comes close to Takedown quality.
Wish they would make TDU1 and TDU2 BC as well. Even though TDU2 was a major disappointment, the TDU series still has somethings that even Forza Horizon didn't have.

Edit: have you played Dirt Rally? I heard It's not as godo as RC2, but is a damn good Rally game. Not many of those in the last few years.

Yeah. For the most recent rally games, the order from best to worst goes like this: DiRT Rally > Sebastian Loeb Rally Evo >>>>>>> WRC 5.

Is the deluxe version of Revelations worth $4 more than the season pass?
I'm definitely getting one or the other, I just can't decide which. I only have the base game at the moment.

For an extra $4, you get a lot over the season pass only. You get costumes for Claire, Barry, Moira, and Natalia. Wesker and Hunk for RAID mode. Extra RAID stages. And extra record and weapon storage for RAID mode. All of that content is worth over $30. And trust me, Resident Evil Revelations 2 is a really great game. It's "come for the episodes, stay for RAID mode", and all the things in the Deluxe Edition really add to the experience.

I believe NVIDIA has already said the Switch is running a custom-made Tegra X2 chip or something similar.
From the trailer, it looks like you can't use the tablet and have the TV going at the same time, so I doubt you can play 3/DS games on there unless you can use the Wii U GamePad.

The specs say "Maxwell" on it which is the Tegra X1. The X2 is "Parker" and would make the Switch really expensive were it in it.

Really tempted to buy RE5 for the co-op, but I haven't played a Resident Evil game since 4 came out on GameCube (loved that one). Anybody here that can recommend it?
Also, has episode one of RE Revelations 2 always been free, or is this a new thing? I assume they're trying to get people to try it and buy the deluxe edition.

Resident Evil 5 was a touchy one; fantastic for a co-op experience, mediocre for a single-player experience, horrible for a Resident Evil. At least Resident Evil was a good overall game in both aspects, of course it too was a horrible Resident Evil.

As for Resident Evil Revelations 2 Chapter 1, just like the Telltale games, the first chapter was released at $5, then eventually they made it free to entice more people to buy the other chapters or the season pass. One thing I got to say about Resident Evil Revelations 2 is, unlike Resident Evil 5 and 6, Rev 2 actually feels like a proper Resident Evil should (just like it's 3DS native prequel) and is a pretty good game in it's own right. Raid mode adds a really nice bonus mode to an already really good good game, adding more playtime than the actual main game. Honestly, I feel it's worth it to get to game, and the Deluxe Edition in particular, because the added storage space might come in handy for any additional guns and mods. Plus playing as Wesker in Raid mode is good, too.

New CoD may not be shit after-all.

Believe you me. I get bored to sleep watching and even playing Call of Duty games, but as I was watching the game presentation, I was like "what the heck is this and when is it coming out"? When I saw at the end that it was Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, I was like "No freaking way". This has definitely got my attention. I never thought I'd live to see the day that I would be impressed by a Call of Duty.

I almost bought the Banner Saga on PS4 during the flashsale and was like 'no I would rather play it on my X1 I am sure it will the same sale price...' Rookie thinking on my part hah

Adding insult to injury, the $5 sale is supposed to guarantee a copy of the game on two systems (PS4 and Vita), whereas this horrible sale only secures a copy on the Xbox One. Though it might not matter in your case.

In any case, my $5 Xbox reward credit is safe. I was going to save it for the Elite: Dangerous Horizons Expansion, anyway.

Wow.....Those of us who ordered the Gold Bundle from BB and were part of the season pass glitch, made out big time!

Seriously. Now I don't feel so bad for missing out on that scalper cattle known as the Fallout 4 Collector's Edition. I wasn't really that interested in the Pip-Boy, anyway.

Lococyle is nowhere near as bad as it was made out to be. I enjoyed it for what it was, a $10 game by Twisted Pixel. Ridiculous cutscenes though.

Yeah, I remember playing Lococycle. Pretty good game. Roundabout has it beat for ridiculous live action cutscenes, though.
