Is there any way to get free shipping from Nintendo?

Don't hesitate, pay the $5 and be happy. I scoffed at paying $30 for the dual pack just two weeks ago and now I'm running around everywhere and begging help to find them.

A job choice. Interesting. I've never heard that either. I guess we all choose the jobs that we have. With nothing else taken into account. I don't want any credit here. What is wrong you people. I have my own professional satisfaction as a professor. You confuse me so much. I think FB has ruined so many of you. Just look in the mirror at yourself for like 5 minutes straight. Go from there.

So, you're a 36 year old Navy vet professor who spends the wee hours of the morning utilizing poor sentence structure and badgering someone over some term?

Fucking lol, doubt it.

Does the B2G1 work on Amiibos in store as well?

In case anyone out there wanders in here wondering - yes, this does apply successfully to Amiibos in-store as well.

Is Yoshi's Wolly World pretty fun?

It really is. Ended up being one of the best games for Wii U - yeah, it has some familiar gameplay that's been present in everybody Yoshi title, but it does so much that's new and fresh too. And if you're trying to 100% it, it's got just that right amount of difficulty to make you keep coming back for more. I'd easily pay full price for the game, at $20, it's a no-brainer.

Thanks guys for your input. Hope Gerstmann's impressions were off and this does turn out to be good game.

I haven't looked into Super Bomberman R too much yet. I know it has online multiplayer, and that's had me sold from the first moment I heard it. Bomberman Live for Xbox Live was absolutely the best game the 360 ever had to offer. I put hundreds upon hundreds of hours playing that with most of the players in the top 200 in the leaderboards. It was a very active game for 3-4 years but most people went their separate days. Hoping I can jump on and see some familiar screen names also playing!

Really hoping Konami didn't Fuck up the good thing Hudson Soft had going.

I think they're OK, but after looking at the other plate options, I couldn't find any that I liked. They just aren't impressive, so cant' see why I'd spend another $20-50 for some plates of things I don't care much for. I wish they'd utilize this aspect of the console more. Why is Pikachu the only single-Pokémon plate option? I want some Charizard plates (other than the expensive ones from the Anniversary console) or Blaziken or a Fire Emblem set that isn't just cover art in plate form.

Isn't it obvious? When a bunch of people are not N3DS owners, then these come out, a bunch of new owners result. Those owners then research their new device and find out Nintendo is consistently being inconsistent with the display quality on the consoles. Just because Nintendo's been deliberately shitty for years doesn't mean it's OK to be deliberately shitty now. I kind of heard about the TN/IPS drama over the years, but never played a 3DS until this one. That's when I saw video examples of the difference and saw how different the image quality can be, in varying conditions.

So, yes, it's reasonable to call Nintendo out for still being shitty after years of being shitty. Advertising these as a "special, limited edition price" isn't a defense for inconsistent hardware specs and not-infrequent hardware flaws like the speaker, display, and light bleed issues we've seen. These aren't like BF TVs, where they look imperceptibly different, giving up one or two minor specs for a lower price (like the Samsung TVs that cut out smart remotes and Bluetooth). If Nintendo were cutting $50 off and making everything 100% TN at all times, while the higher-dollar models were 100% IPS, that would be different. Instead, you're handing over money with no certainty of what you are paying for exactly.

Yeah, outside of this thread, I highly doubt many people are looking into the quality of their screen - they're popping in games in enjoying them. You might have a point if the screen was advertised to be one type or the other, but it hasn't. If it's such a Greek tragedy, return the thing and consider it a vote with your wallet and implore others to do as you have done.

WOW, there repair service is crap now to uh? I can for sure see how the effects of the Wii U and low profits over the last 5 years has begin to take it's toll. They used to have top notch rewards program, CS was beyond belief at how good it was, system quality was pretty good, and the most important thing was the games where always well made and fun to play.

I guess all good things come to an end at some point.

FWIW, some people are never satisfied and some people have bad luck. I own numerous 3DS systems (yes, because I have issues) but I've only ever sent one in for warranty repair service due to the joystick becoming loose from the center. CS was amazing, and the turnaround was less than a week. I wouldn't rush to judge based on just one anecdotal happenstance, whether it be negative or positive.

Anyone having luck finding screen protectors for this model in stores? My system is supposed to arrive today and I realized that I should probably have a protector ready before I open it.

Honestly, I used to obsess over screen protectors on my handhelds. I didn't put one on my Majora's Mask N3DSXL...and it's still in amazing shape with heavy use. As long as you're not 5 years old or lack the sense of touch, you'll be okay until you can find a protector.

Yeah, I've never understood the "dated tech" arguments myself. I can just as easily play the arcade Donkey, or jump over and play one of the SNES games, or the Wii U Tropical Freeze. Now I can agree that pricing can be an issue in regards to old tech, but if the price is right, why not?

Where the 3DS is out dated in certain areas, it still offers some great games and some solid 3D for the price, so it's still kind of an unique device in the handheld market.

I haven't bought a next gen system yet, as besides the graphic upgrades, I don't really see any other improvements over my PS3/360 that makes it worth my time to upgrade. I still have a rather HUGE last gen backlog, so by the time I'm ready for a new system, they'll be below $200 and have a great library of games I can then get cheap.

While your points are all great, I disagree about it being a unique device in the handheld market - it IS the handheld market.

I honestly don't know why anyone would be getting this unless it's for someone maybe 10 and under as a disposable item. The system is dated and the screen is so small.

Oh, okay, thanks for setting us straight before you leave the thread forever.

#13432306 NES Classic Edition Pre-order at Target.com

Nintendo is infamous when it comes to underestimating demand. At least Nintendo of America.
This is going to be like the Amiibos all over again. (By that mean I the original demand, Amiibo prices are shit now).

Their lack of supply is 100% intentional. Amiibos were a bit different because the day before launch, no one gave a shit about them. A couple of sensationalized stories caused people to go apeshit and prices of Amiibo to sky rocket suddenly - I think further down the line though, nintendo was intentionally keeping supply low on those as well.

#13407858 Best Buy Black Friday in July Sale

Posted by moopher on 20 July 2016 - 05:48 PM

The lack of GCU when they decide to add 'Black Friday' to the name of the sale is disappointing. Now I'll just wait for Amazon to price match, and buy from there. I'll do the same on Black Friday. The only reason I bought from Best Buy was due to GCU...so when it doesn't apply, I'll shop elsewhere.

Well, your username holds up at least.

My 3DS copy was identical.

Jesus I did not think it would get that high, how much you ended up selling it. I think i will hold on to mine just to complete the set

I sold mine on Amazon for $160 about a month ago - a complete set pails in comparison to more money for games.

My god, I hadn't looked at Breach and Clear prices on eBay for a while. They are literally selling for more than the system they're played on... I mean, my god, there's a sold copy that went for $184!

I couldn't resist selling mine for a ridiculous price since its been a sharp rise, which won't last forever.
