#13736050 What launch games are you playing ?

Has anyone picked up Arms? It's been a pleasant surprise for me that it's getting good reviews, I'd like to check it out.

I will pick it up but it's not out until the 16th. I guess there wasn't a review embargo up to release date.

Very surprised how fast I got I Am Setsuna from Amazon Japan. Shipped on Sunday evening, received today (Tuesday). Also surprised by the mini button mapped instruction booklet

Zelda, Shovel Knight Treasure Trove, Fast RMX and VOEZ for me. I stopped playing Blaster Master because I beat it, but so far having fun with all. Don't really see anything else that interests me until Puyo Puyo Tetris and Mario Kart 8 come out. I lied. I forgot that I ordered I Am Setsuna from Amazon.jp

Yeah I bought it. According my prefer it will ship April 4th.

Some of these game prices are crazy. One game is like 9100 yen plus shipping. No idea what game it is

I ordered I Am Setsuna as well. States it will arrive March 31 or April 1. Was debating on just getting it for PS4 for the 60fps, but portability wins in this case. And I probably should've waited to get Setsuna until after beating BotW, but I have a sickness and want every game I'm interested in. Lol

So it seems like the discussions have died down, so I wanted to pick it up again.

How's everyone liking the Switch?

Personally, I'm loving it and haven't touched any other system (I have PS4, Wii U, 3DS XL). My only gripes so far is the battery draining relatively quickly and joy-con connectivity (there have been a number of times where I have the system docked and in sleep mode, I take off the joy-cons, put them in the grip, press A to wake the system and it asks me to press L to activate the left joy-con but it doesn't respond. I have to take it off the grip and press the sync button to get it to work). It's another thing that the joy-con falters when playing cross-legged on the sofa and put the joy-cons too close to my legs at a distance of about 10 feet.

For the games, here are my impressions:
Zelda: BotW: about 15 hours in and it's an awesome game and experience though I feel I'm doing a lot of shrine hunting and side quests which I feel pulls me away from the story.

Fast RMX: put in about an hour, unlocked 3 stages and 3 additional vehicles. Definitely a lot of fun and scratches the itch of an F-Zero type game. Can definitely get frustrating when you fall or crash, but money well spent.

Blaster Master Zero: beat the game after 6.5 hours. I never really got into the original game and this one had my attention the whole time. But it was pretty easy.

Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove: having a lot of fun with this one and currently playing it more than BotW. I had the original but never got far into it. Definitely frustrating at times but now that I have upgrades to armor and my shovel, it feels like the game is opening up. I'm still going through the original game

VOEZ: I was really debating on not getting this because it's free on mobile (though if you want to unlock all the songs, it is paid which comes $5 less than the Switch version, I think). I've played about 15 songs on Easy, some very catchy. Hard mode makes things a little more fun and challenging. If you like rhythm and Hatsune Miku-like games, you would probably like this. There's not much in terms of visuals but it's a good change of pace compared to BotW and a game I usually play before bed.

Yeah, after what what happened to XeroFun I'm going to wait about 24 hours before I place the tablet in the dock. Everyone should learn from what happened to him or her and not commit the same mistake.

Yes, please learn from me.  I am going to take my initial one off and try out the 2nd one and wait 48 hours.  To be honest, no where on the instructions does it state that you should wait for it to "cure."  Usually you only have to do that when you are working with a wet install of a screen protector.

Yeah...I'm not too pleased. I mean it came in a pack of 2 glass protectors. I'm waiting for this one to get scratched up before I try the other. Anyway, pic below. I peeled up the glass and it is just the glue of the tempered glass...no issue with the plastic screen. And everything was perfectly clear before docking the system.

As an update to my first amFilm tempered glass screen protector...I played BotW for about 4 hours yesterday, removed the Switch from the dock and noticed the adhesive is creeping up to the visible screen portion (at first it didn't bother me because it was just on the bezel).
Again, I didn't wait to cure the protector after installation. I did email TechMatte about it and they did say they have done testing of the screen protector on the dock and didn't come across any issues on their end. They did tell me to make sure there were no bubbles when the protector is installed (there wasn't when I installed mine). They were nice enough to send me another pack. If the new ones don't work, I'll probably look into the ones by ORZLY.

For those that have Joy-Con issues (like myself). It looks like Nintendo is making good on repairs. I'll probably send mine in next week (https://www.reddit.c...d_left_joy_con/)

I probably should not have used a 256gb card as I probably will never fill it. But it was free from the Samsung Note 7 promo.

How good is the case that comes with the SE and ME versions of BotW? I see it's selling for $80 on ebay by itself so I'm tempted to sell it and just get the generic Mario or Zelda one for $20.

For me, it's pretty good. I mean it's not the hardest case out there for protection but it holds a good number of games and holds the console with joy cons attached comfortably. I guess the only thing is aesthetics. Some may think it looks gawdy, and I thought the same initially. But because the Sheikah Slate is used constantly in BotW, it had grown on me. Definitely a keeper for me.

Makes me wonder if earlier in development the screens were suppose to be glass.

It surprises me that no one noticed this or the joy con desync issue during the pre-launch events or just decided to sweep it under the rug and hope that no one notices after launch.

How long after applying the screen protector did you wait to place it in the dock? Curious because most have a curing process that takes the better part of a day to bond. Could just also have been the bond that company personally used as well.

Haha. That's probably it. I waited all of 5 minutes (if that). I needed to head out the door so I figured I should charge the system so that it will be fully charged by the time I get back. Though, when I did get back, it was still clear. About 4 hours had passed until I docked again and actually played Zelda. I guess I'll wait longer next time.

So I finally got my Switch in today ( Fuck Best Buy for shipping mine UPS Ground).

The first thing I did was check for dead pixels/screen anomalies then proceeded to the tempered glass screen protector by amFilm.  I had purchased the same brand for my kid's iPads and they worked great so thought I would have the same experience.  Installation was easy.  Just needed to line up bottom cutouts to the system, remove the first film, then use the two tabs on the sides to lay down the glass on the screen.  Everything went well except for a speck of lint that snuck in under the glass.  I, unfortunately, had to lift the glass back up and use the dust sticker to take off the lint.  It came off and I was able to lay the glass back down.

Everything looked good until I played Zelda for about an hour docked.  For some reason it looks like the glue from the glass heated up and started to ripple at the very bottom.  I guess it could have also been the pressure of the glass pressing up against the inside of the dock.  While unsightly, it's really only on the bezel so it doesn't bother me too much.

Impressions of the system itself is better than what I expected.  I thought the joy cons would be lighter than they actually are.  The system with joy cons attached have a good weight.  I had no issues with using the joy cons in the included grip.  I think I can hold off on the pro controller until Street Fighter gets released.  I'm just glad I don't have any dead pixels, off colored LED screen, or too bad of a Wi-Fi connection (system is 12 ft from my TP-Link AC1750 5GHz and getting 2 of 3 "bars" at 37.2Mbps down/4.7Mbps up. In my bedroom that is 30 ft away, I still am connected to 5GHz and at 24.8Mbps down/4.7Mbps up and my line is typically 100Mbps down/7Mbps up).

Overall, very happy with the system.  Looking to get Fast RMX soon.
