Some of the veterans here might remember me, I used to do a lot of trading on this site when cross-region trading was still a thing and I could help people buy Steam games for a cheaper price. The good ol' days.

Anyway, I thought this was probably a good time to clear my inventory. I kind of forgot I had a bunch of Steam gifts left and they've been collecting dust for over a year.

So someone educate everyone please on these foreign keys here. How are the ones like airmax is trying to hock tagged RU different than those a legit and quality sellers like say a Krugozor sells?

The difference is that I wouldn't sell them at all, because I never trade RU-tagged games. Valiant Hearts has a separate package ID when you purchase it in Russia or CIS countries, so it is possible that it gets region-locked retroactively (as it ended up happening) or just cause some other issues.

I stocked a bunch of copies during the price glitch but I didn't sell any, even after I was messaged by quite a few users. I pefer to resell only those games that have the same package ID as when purchased from the States or elsewhere.

Didn't realize I'd be competing with Krugz  but I've also got 3 copies of Forced for sale at $2.50 each.

 

If they don't sell well I guess I'll save them for Christmas presents or something. Better than Gun Monkeys.

If I get any requests for a single copy, I'll send them to you. It is fair since you already have them and I'm just re-selling from the store.

That is correct. I never sold Thief, South Park or any other region-locked games (I was even unaware there was a glitch to do so).

And you guessed right, it seems that Valve put a trade ban on my account (not sure if temporary). It seems they got tired of Russians/Brazilians reselling games. But it was fun while it lasted.

Anyway, it's been a pleasure to trade with you guys. Thanks for making this community the safest/friendliest I've seen. See you in some other thread.

You might want to keep those at least for a couple of days until we see what happens.

Until now, Steam had created a new game ID for every game that became region-locked. But this time they just added the flag "AllowCrossRegionTradingAndGifting" to the existing ID, causing the existing gift items to become region-locked retroactively. And I don't think that was intended.

If you purchased a game and you were not informed about region restrictions (no disclaimer), you must be able to gift it to your folks abroad, or to activate it in a different area. Otherwise that might be against your statutory rights. Something similar happened with Black Flag, and they lifted the lock for people who purchased it before the disclaimer was added.

My guess is that an intern screwed up and everything will be ok in the morning.

Anyone got a regional deal on dark souls for less than 5.99? It doesn't have regional restrictions according to steamdb. I'm so confused, thought there was a new trade thread and posted there, my post wound up here. Is this real life?
