That's how most stores do this kind of promotion in my experience. Stores that do it a different way are usually the outliers. A lot of people on CAG abuse GS(myself included), but they frequently have the best trade promos of anyone around. Without them the trade/flip economy would be nothing. Also, getting rewarded on top of easy flipping/trading with PUR points/certs is a goldmine. If Bestbuy didn't have such a great system with GCU I'd use GS almost exclusively

 

Thing is, you would only be able to get these certs if you are a PUR member, so what they are essentially doing is reducing the actual value of your PUR discount benefit.  Shady shit

Yeah this is the reason I have no problem screwing over GameStop with flipping games to my benefit.  They screw you over with “GameStop” math.  Another example is if you have a $25 preowned cert from the rewards program, and lets say you want to buy a used game that is priced at $37, but with elite pro, it’s discounted to $30, you’d think you’d be paying $5 net, right?  ( $30 -$25 cert).  WRONG.  They take the $25 off the original price of $37, and then discount your 20% elite pro from the $12 difference ( which is only a little over $2).  So you end up paying $10. WTF is that bullshit.

What games did you actually get for the 4/$10 deal for people to be buying 50 of them. All the ones I saw online were crap. Curious cause a lot of them would end up being cheap coasters.

 

I'm a Pro member that is hoping to trade in Zelda BOTW, Splatoon 2, Mario Odyssey, and Shadow of the Colossus (PS4) today.  The Pro membership expires fairly soon.  Late March or early April, iirc. 

 

Would it be wise to upgrade/re-subscribe prior to trading these in, or would it not even be a wash?

Well, I ended up opening the PS4 pro I got last weekend. I was holding off on opening it in case there was any deal going on with the pro day (which they won’t be having). Hooked it up, and am blown away from the 4k. Wow. Witcher 3 and Uncharted 4 look like totally different games on 4k HDR than when I played them on 1080p with my OG PS4.

Hot damn, there is a difference.

I’ll probably just take advantage of the extra 10% off preowned games. It lets me save my B2g1 coupon I got for renewing last week.

30% is close enough to 33% and I’m not forced to run around finding 3 games I want

Someone posted earlier in the thread and said in the past they gave you the promo amount plus the additional % for elite and pro, being Elite would get you $35 for the DS4. Which sweetens the deal imo.

 

 

Someone should do this and post.  It’d save some people some time.  For $35, I’d trade in my extra controller which came with my OG PS4

What’s the maximum number of copies you can trade in of the same game without being flagged?  I believe it’s 3 copies per account, but wanted to confirm before I go nuts on the redbox trade ins.

I got the game on release day and tried to force myself to enjoy it, however I stil,couldn't. The music is done entirely wrong as it doesn't set the tone for the various tasks or events. It kind of kills getting emotionally involved. I'd say FFX did the best with that part.

I still couldn't get past the whole battle system aspect of the game. I guess I'm old school turn based and I've come to accept they will never go back to turn based with the final fantasy series.

Man, GTA V is $40 still. Crazy, thing is like 5 years old. It holds its value like its a Nintendo out of print game.
