#13745205 PSN Weekly Deals - 6/27: Huge Mid Year Sale & Sonic Sales! Too many d...

Posted by rapsodist on 17 June 2017 - 12:38 AM

For any of you guys who missed the themes, there's still a way to get them! Via Redditors hhhhojeihsug, BananaProne and Choozey

From /u/BananaProne

Pro tip for those who missed the theme: Manually change your phone or computer's system date to Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and visit the website after changing it to each day. This will make the website think you did the tasks. Really dumb how they programmed this website, but at least we can all get the theme ¯\ (ツ)

Confirm this work on both Donuts - Dynamic Theme and Symbols in the Sky - Dynamic Theme. You can acquire them as long as you have NA account, no matter where you live.

For Donuts theme change your system time to 6/13 12pm PST, 6/14 12pm PST and 6/15 12pm PST accordingly. Make sure to refresh the website and confirms it registered.

For Symbols in the Sky. Change your time to 6/13 12pm PST, refresh the webpage and wait for 10 minutes. Although the live play appear to be offline, it still count somehow. Then you'll notice the counter in the quest increase every minutes. (EDIT. About an hour after I post this, Sony updates the video from live play linked from twitch to youtube videos. So, the symbols in the sky seems unable to be acquired at this moment, you can still get the donuts one though.)

EDIT.2: From /u/Choozey

What you need to do: Open the Developer console of the browser you are using. Inspect the "PlayStation Live from E3 2017" quest. In Opera there is a cursor icon on the top-left corner of the developer console window, which you can use to select objects on the page. You should see something like: "<div class="quest-wrapper compact active [...]" on the Elements tab. Your main focus should be on the word 'active'. The quests that you completed are in 'completed' state, if you claimed your prize for the quest it'll be in 'claimed' state. All you have to do is to edit that 'active' flag and write 'completed' there. Press enter and the 'Claim Prize' button should appear.

So I can confirm it works. Here's the step with pictures tutorial(In chrome)

  1. First go to Playstation Live From E3 and make sure you login.
  2. Open the developer tools(pressing F12 or Ctrl+Shift+I on Windows, on OS X I believe it's Command + Shift + J I cannot remeber) http://i.imgur.com/VqZn6lj.png
  3. (1) Choose the selector tool (2) Hover your mouse to the quest block(MLB The Show 17 Quest in this example) until the popup says "div.quest-wrapper.active" or something like that (3) It should highlight one block for you "<div class = ...></div>" http://i.imgur.com/Mhk98wl.png
  4. Double clicked the part highlighted in the picture and change "active" to "completed". So it looks like

    <div class="quest-wrapper completed" .....

    And hit enter http://i.imgur.com/IuzCfWC.png

  5. Now there would be "CLAIM YOUR PRIZE" button on the original website, hit the button and claim your reward.

  6. NOTE: It can be done easily with JavaScript code so if any one can do that for me I will update the post. I think it applies to all the quest except with "All voucher codes have been claimed" But maybe it works.

END OF EDIT2

Enjoy your new themes and don't forget to sync your time with Internet afterwards.

#13673809 PS4 rise of the tomb raider $20 Costco

Posted by rapsodist on 27 March 2017 - 04:49 PM

Really? I'm sorry, I thought prices in Costco were universal. I checked 2 stores here in the Chicago area and they were both $20.

Seems like prices are universal but stock isn't. I know plenty of others report buying Criterion Blu-rays at their Costcos but I almost never see them for sale at my local stores.

#11090557 Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix PS3 Fry's In-Store $19.99 AC - 10/08-10/13

Posted by rapsodist on 26 September 2013 - 05:06 PM

I went to the Fry's in Burbank yesterday and I got shot down. They took down the tag already so it wasn't marked "19.99". I showed them the picture that the OP posted. They said "Oh that must be a mistake. Hold on one sec." The sales rep calls I don't know who. 3 minutes later he's off the phone and tells me "Yea that was a mistake made by corporate and I can't sell you that game at that price." Then I head over to Best Buy and try my luck there. They ended up calling Fry's and hearing the same story. Ugh lol

Sorry to hear that! When I was there, they grabbed the tag off the shelf, but I presumed it was just to confirm it at customer service. At no point during my price adjustment process did they ever indicate that it was an error. I guess we do kind of know the truth, but it sucks that Fry's is trying to make its customers jump through hoops to get this sale price.

I'm about 10 minutes from the Van Nuys and Panorama areas. If the addresses are real, maybe it's time to pay a visit...

#4442864 What was the last CD you bought? - The Sequel

Posted by rapsodist on 18 July 2008 - 02:36 AM

Freakbeat Records in Sherman Oaks is having their 5th anniversary sale through Monday. 50% off all CDs priced 6.99 and under, 20% off all CDs priced 7.99 and above. As a record shop devotee, I think this annual sale is arguably the best in L.A. County despite the store's relative lack of size.

For $51, I nabbed 15 albums:

Fiona Apple - When the Pawn...
Boogie Down Productions - Ghetto Music: The Blueprint of Hip Hop
Brandi Carlile - Brandi Carlile
The Concretes - In Colour
Norah Jones - Come Away with Me
Leonard Cohen - Songs of Leonard Cohen [EU Deluxe Limited Edition] sealed
The Jesus and Mary Chain - Darklands
Leaders of the New School - A Future Without a Past...
Mojave 3 - Ask Me Tomorrow
Pernice Brothers - Live a Little
Dusty Springfield - Dusty in Memphis
Booker T. & the M.G.'s - The Best of Booker T. & the M.G.'s [Atlantic]
George Thorogood & the Destroyers - Bad to the Bone [25th Anniversary Edition] sealed
TV on the Radio - Return to Cookie Mountain
Ohmega Watts - Watts Happening [2-Disc Edition]

Man, I need to stop by Amoeba again. I've been sitting on a gift certificate for a year!

In the meantime, BMG Music Club had a great deal for me: Buy 1 Get 4 Free Plus Triple Music Points (which easily garnered another free CD). Including tax and shipping, that came out to just under $6 an album. I decided to pick up some older stuff that was conspicuously missing from my collection:

Black Eyed Peas - Behind the Front
Black Sabbath - Paranoid
David Bowie - Heroes
Cream - Fresh Cream
Daft Punk - Discovery
Derek & the Dominos - Layla
Iron Maiden - The Number of the Beast
Sparklehorse - Dreamt for Light Years in the Belly of a Mountain
Starflyer 59 - Talking Voice vs. Singing Voice
The Who - The Who Sell Out

I couldn't resist going back to Borders for their 40% off sale.

Cat Power - Jukebox [Limited Edition]
Charlotte Gainsbourg - 5:55
Bob Dylan - Blonde on Blonde
Madlib - The Beat Konducta Vol. 1-2
My Brightest Diamond - Bring Me the Workhorse
The National - Boxer
Anna Ternheim - Anna Ternheim
M. Ward - Post-War
