Nathan Grayson of Kotaku - "PC Game Install Sizes Are Ballooning And I'm Scared" article:
https://kotaku.com/p...ared-1838956525

Notes:
- Red Dead Redemption 2 PC will require 150GB for install
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare [2019 Reboot] PC version will require 175GB of space to install
- Gears of War 4, Gears 5, FF XV and Halo 5 PC versions all take up over 100GB of space to install
- Textures are getting more & more complex...and bigger
- There's not really a practical way to compress textures with little-to-no loss in fidelity, unlike audio

dystopian future coming in which i actually have to uninstall games

i love that people are trying to confront mooby/explain to him why they think he's wrong about this like he doesn't just hate 99% of everything or something

October monthly was pretty...ehh....but wow November's early unlock are great, even though I have no interest in CoD.

Yeah, I always liked Fallout 4 - but FO4 ain't as great as FO3 in the choices department; and especially NV in the character, story, narrative, writing, dialogue, and/or voice-acting. Seriously, Obsidian is just flat-out better at that stuff; no comparison.

last year i made the mistake of replaying fo3 immediately after nv, the dialogue in three is kinda tough to get through after playing nv

Random, but I have been replaying Fallout 4 the last few weeks. I've been enjoying it a lot more than the last time I played it, I think enough time has passed where the disappointment over what it's not has subsided and I can enjoy it for what it is (that being said, I always liked the game). It still leaves me with a desire to just boot up New Vegas, though.

All this just has me really hoping The Outer Worlds is awesome.

Epic Games are giving away 6 Batman games today, the Arkham Trilogy and the LEGO Batman games. Tremendous! Making game stores competitive again!

Damn, free Arkham trilogy is pretty sweet, although I already have all of them

Would never buy BL3 -- or anything -- on Epic.  Although from what I've read the humor is more juvenile than BL2 which doesn't make me want to play it.

nice, was going to wait for a sale, the humor in bl2 was too heady and i didn't understand it. needed something more memey and dumber for idiots like myself this is now a day 1 buy

It's a good indie game with simple but solid mechanics and good replay value.  It was way over-hyped due to Twitch streamers which probably leads to people feeling a bit underwhelmed when they actually play it.  I would rank it up there with the original Torchlight on the scale of well-produced and polished indie games.

it's a top tier rogue like for me

Slay the Spire wasn't a thrilling headliner for me, at least when it was revealed it wasn't, but people here really talked it up.

i wasn't excited to see it as a headliner but i really wound up enjoying it, played it non stop for a week or two

The Surge is free to play (not keep) on Steam right now.

worth a try imo, it's one of the better souls-likes i've tried out. actually finished it, plan to pick up the dlc once it's cheaper and replay it down the line

Pyre is 6 bucks on steam right now, which i think is a historical low, of course it'll probably be in this month's humble bundle or something

Also just read Borderlands 3 will be using Denuvo.  Take-Two/2K going full scorched earth policy on this one.  Maybe by the time it releases on Steam they'll remove Denuvo.  Probably not, though.

oh sweet, i was lukewarm on bl3 but now that i know it has denuvo i am IN
