#14264747 Steam+ Deals Mega Thread (All PC Gaming Deals)

Posted by pasports31 on 17 February 2020 - 05:44 AM

A few days late here but just tried that Steam play next feature. Mine were

Borderlands Enhanced

Dishonored 2

Jet Set Radio

i've already played the original BL like 4 times so not doing that

no interest in jet set radio

maybe i'll play dishonored

anyway i'm not on here as much as i used to be. i just lost my job last week so that's cool. kinda anxious and sad but on the other hand i have some money saved up so even if i don't get unemployment i should be fine. just taking the week off to relax before i figure out my next move, i've played a shit load of skyrim in the last week, still an addictive ass game. trying to view it as just taking a vacation kind of

edit: also i'm struggling w/the idea if i wanna even bother w/humble monthly this month. if i suspend my subscription do you guys know if i'm still locked into classic pricing or whatever?

yea, build a city, based around a giant furnace since the world sucks ass now, and goal is to keep as many people alive and happy as possible buy building the things you can with what you have, while also doing expeditions and stuff

damn i was in til the expeditions part if there's one thing in this world i hate it is expeditions

So here's a question. I don't fancy this months bundle, can I pause my subscription a month, or is it too late to do that now?

You have the whole month. Now instead of getting a couple early reveals and trying to make your decision off that, the whole thing gets revealed. It's the same as it was before they changed it's just now you know everything at the beginning of the month

Torchlight was boring.  And I hate micromanaging endless amounts of meaningless loot.

Is that 4/5 Mooby's or 5/5 Mooby's??

Torchlight is amazing.  Day one purchase for Max: 1) Ditching shitty microtransactions; and 2) selling on Steam.

great that these posts were all in a row lol

fwiw im ususally kinda lukewarm on most arpgs but really liked torchlight 2 so this is cool

Epic Games Store wins again!

Nice, HZD is a very good game imo although based on what Ex~ just posted ymmv, i guess.

I think the game overstays its welcome a bit too long if you tend to try to complete everything (particularly if you have the dlc as well, although it adds a few new robots), the combat does start to get a bit repetitive and as you progress through the game a little too easy iirc (i played it a year ago), that's the risk of making a game like that where the draw is really fighting the enemies, there isn't really much to keep you really engaged when you get a little overpowered and you've seen all the different variations of robots. Still really enjoyed it overall

The combat is technically good but it actually in my opinion eventually gets more boring than ME 2 + 3 because the encounters are virtually all identical - you walk or drive around, find an open outpost that has enemies hanging around and shoot at either robots or humans in open space. There's an amazingly low amount of enemy variety, and I think the encounters suffer from being in the open. ME 2 + 3 seemed more tactical due to variety of enemy types that would require different strategies and that had different attacks, and particularly on higher difficulties being in tighter environments in combination with the variety of enemies meant you'd often plan out a strategy in terms of order of elimination and stuff.

So while the combat is technically better, after a couple fights in ME:A  I found it kinda dull. The characters and plot aren't too interesting. The worlds aren't really all that fun to explore. Some of the side quests are somewhat substantial, but a lot are just "go around and plant 6 probes" and stuff like that.

It's serviceable, but I was bored enough where I just couldn't justify spending anymore time on it when there are so many other more engaging games to play.

i started play mass effect andromeda recently, had to stop though, it was just so boring. it was like a less interesting dragon age inquistion in space, just not a good game

I didn't get anything from the steam sale, i think this is the first time i bought nothing in a summer or winter sale. Picked up some of the egs freebies though. Very disappointing because if i keep buying no games at this rate from steam given my current backlog i will run out of games to play in like 8 years or so

Heh, I was just looking at my playtime on the Epic app since I was curious how much time I actually put into the free games:

Subnautica 2 hours

Rayman Legends 45m

Everything 35m

Enter the Gungeon 50m

City of Brass 30m

you should go back to rayman legends, that game is incredibly good imo
