My brother works at Amazon and four PS5s were demolished in a forklift accident today and several boxes were damaged. Hate to see it, they're gonna delay some orders.

and honestly dont use a debit card online, especially with a preorder as most places have rolling preauthorizations. and especially if you wont have the available cash. you are probably lucky they didnt take out the funds and bounce all your bill payments.

Jim Ryan specifically said that Sony believed in generations and that Spider-Man and Horizon were only possible on PS5. The man straight faced lied to their entire 100+ million player base just so that he could sell some PS5 pre-orders. That's the kind of company you want to support? The man is more of a Snake Oil Salesman than Phil Spencer.
Next you're going to tell me that Play Actually Does Have Limits. Mind blown.
I'm not sure which planet you're living on but Sony has every intention of going after the PC market. They've released Horizon and Death Stranding so far. It makes sense to increase their profits and people who can afford to build a gaming PC usually don't buy a console. Will you eat some crow when Demon Souls eventually gets released on PC?
Death Stranding wasn't put on PC by Sony. Kojima Productions is an independent studio, Sony only paid for an exclusivity period as part of their initial deal to help fund the game's development. On PC, 505 games published it. Horizon could be the start of a trend though... We'll have to wait and see. Maybe Demon's Souls will end up on PC, but I was only referring to the launch exclusivity.
People keep saying that Gamepass is not sustainable but every year it just keeps growing. Maybe one day people will wake up and realize that they're wrong? Look at the most played games on steam and you will see that most of many of them are Microsoft games despite being able to play these games for free with gamepass. That implies that many do prefer to buy/own their games. It's weird I know. Not too mention all the money they make on DLC and microtransactions from these games just for being on gamepass.
What you're describing is how tech products often introduce their products to the public. They start off generously to gain marketshare, then once they've acquired enough users the price gets jacked up. Giving people good deals at the beginning is basically an advertising expense. Steam sure was great before it got established, no one else sold games so cheaply when I built my first modern PC in 2011. Sony was hungry at the start of this generation, and Microsoft sure is trying hard now. I'm fairly confident the price will be raised, because the price always goes up once a product has a decent market share, but I obviously don't have a crystal ball.
Less than 2 months away from launch and still not a single review or PS5 is anywhere to be seen. No idea what's inside the box or if it sounds like another jet engine. Better hope this doesn't turn into another 360 RROD fiasco with dumb dumb Mark Cerny thinking it was a good idea to overclock their GPU so high that it's never been done before not even on a PC GPU without watercooling. No details on how backwards compatibly actually works but they want you to fork over $500 of your hard earned dollars. I don't know about you but that sounds shady AF! Good luck with that. Make sure you keep your receipts!
I've owned a Playstation 1, 2, 3, and 4. Playstation Portable. Playstation Vita... And even a Playstation (Vita) TV. So I have expectations based on personal experience of how things will go.
Still, things can always go wrong and there could be an issue like the RROD. My xbox 360 had such an issue and I had to send it away to get it repaired. My Switch had joycon drift. I once bought a GPU I had to RMA and even the replacement sucked. The curved monitor I got for Christmas 2018 got a really noticeable dead pixel within 3 months and ACER refused to replace it. These things happen.
At this point in time though, I have enough confidence from 30 years of playstation products that I'm not really worried about it. I don't understand why you're so fired up about this that you're calling Mark Cerny a 'dumb dumb.' I would recommend introspection about that.

I truly truly hope that all Elder Scrolls and future Bethesda games come only to xbox to screw the stupid Sony fanboys who laughed at Xbox when Spider-Man was announced as exclusive in that stupid Avengers game when I tried to point out how exclusive content in general is terrible for the video game industry.
Sony out here spending their money on timed exclusives. Microsoft out here buying entire video game studios. Who's laughing now? MS has enough cash on hand to buyout the entire Sony company and not lose any sleep over it. Sony's entire online infrastructure is built on MS servers. This is like David vs Goliath except that David doesn't even have a sling! Go MS!

So you guys think gamestop will give $300+ for PS4 Pro, if they have PS5 trade in promotion?
Haven't used PS4 in months, can live without it as i got a switch/PC.
Will save that for the PS5.
Someone offering me $330 local for my 2tb PS4. Just don't want to wait and then PS4s start flooding the market in next couple of months.

This is just sad....
Hopefully a restock happens and can get one.
Check amazon warehouse as they might have some. That's where I grabbed mine back in march for 156$ iirc and it was listed as acceptable but came in new condition with just a small dent and crease on the box that are barely noticeable. Just note that amazon warehouse is very ymmv on item conditions. If applicable try to look for a dinger description which often reads small mark on such and such.

I'm going to raise hell and contact the BBB if GS is closed tomorrow and refuses to let me pick up my Animal Crossing preorder. I refuse to buy digital under ANY circumstances and there's no reason for them to close. This whole virus bullshit is overstated anyway. It's nothing more than a flu yet the sheep are going crazy and buying toilet paper and hand sanitizer. I also love how the soyboys and neckbeards on the GS Reddit think their jobs are so hard and they're health is in jeopardy because they have to work. It's like dude, you work for a fucking retail store. If you're an adult who works retail it means you're either uneducated or stupid and make minimum wage or barely above that. Police officers, doctors, etc. work real jobs and are the ones we should be concerned about, not some soyboy living in his basement with Funcopops and works part time because he's not talented enough to get a real job.

New 3DS is one of the absolute best systems to mod pretty much ever. With basically very little know how you can purchase a $20 DS flash card and get custom firmware on it in basically 10 minutes. The New model is capable of great emulation of NES, SNES, Master System, Genesis, Turbografx 16, and you can also inject GBA. The flash card will have a switch in it that then gives you a fully functional DS card and the ability to add a very good GB/GBC emulator on it. My New 2ds has a 200gb micro in it and the flash card has a 128gb micro in it. I love that system, and until the Switch is old and dead, and much simpler to mod, it will be my go to portable system, still for years to come.
Is a N3DS Xl worth it over a regular XL?
Being offered a N3DS XL for $45, very tempting.
Might trade in my OG 2ds for $20 to upgrade.
On a side not, can't find trade in price for N3DS consoles. Maybe I'm missing something?
Looks like they're not taking them anymore?

You don't even need a flash card nowadays, all models can be unlocked by following a specific set of instructions (google!), ROMs are a bit harder to come by but doable. I purchased 3x 2DS XLs (drove all around the county to find the special editions ones - poke/pika/AC when the were running that 2DS preowned sale) for the kids and put pretty much every single game on the SD cards. Perfect for road trips, plus no fighting over games!

Holy smokes, thanks for the reminder! Totally forgot about this.
Most people already know this, but xbox credit is MS store credit.
Couple of months ago converted $300 of my gamestop credit to xbox credit by buying $50 cards. Ended up buying 8tb hdd, samsung t5 ssd and some other stuff. Might work for some, mostly if it's on sale as MS store prices are sometimes too high.

Comes with the territory. Don’t flip games, don’t get called out for flipping games. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
So I just had this incident happen to me today and I am wondering what kind of advice you guys can give:
I went into GS to buy 2 sets of 4/$20 (only 8 games that were all different as I have been trying to fly under the radar at this store for a while). Unfortunately, when I went to check out, only the store manager (known Junior Detective that has had it out for me for a while) was helping customers so he had to ring me up. After looking for the discs, he sets aside 5 out of the 8 and only brings 3 to the register. He tells me he cannot sell me the other 5 games because he looked on my account and saw that I had bought them from a different store. To be fair I did buy 4 out of those 5 from a different store a couple days ago and I know they can check your past purchases (from what others here have reported). I tried to argue with him about why I can't buy the same games (how can this even be a reason especially during this time of the year!) and he calls me out for trading them back in. At this point I just left since I didn't know what else to say. Here's the thing, my account has been pretty clean for months and any boomerang trades from this current promo are not on my account. I would love to fill out a complaint against this guy with a survey but I do not know if it will just bring further negative consequences. In the past when I complained one time and left a negative survey, they looked into my account and then banned me I think for a period of time after seeing that I bought multiple games and traded them in (this was years ago). I just think that this whole situation is absurd. In the past they have given me a hard time at this store about buying 2 copies but to flat out just refuse to sell games to a customer is a new level of crazy. I am on the fence about just keeping quiet about it or filling out a negative survey to get this guy hopefully in some trouble. What do you all think? I feel like I have a strong case to present to the district manager or whoever would take action but if they look too deep into my account they will probably find boomerangs, etc that would support the store manager's claims against me.
Sorry for the long rant, feeling a bit emotional about it and I was looking for some outside advice and opinions. Thanks.
