In case anyone wants to be super cheap with the $5 monthly coupon, to get around the "can't submit with $0 cart" issue I added a 97 cent game to my cart and selected a random store for in store pickup. That let me submit and I got my code in seconds.

Optimally, the pickup part of the order should cancel/refund since I don't plan on picking up the item but if not, it's still $5 xbox credit for 97 cents vOv

For anyone wondering, in store certs bought with points still work on digital currency as of today. Just redeemed for a $10 xbox credit a few hours ago.

Would someone be willing to try to enter an in store cert code on the website? I'm curious if they made that possible when they allowed the $5 monthly to work online. The in-store cert may have fewer restrictions on it than the online certs, apparently. Thanks.

No dice. Got a "coupon cannot be added to your cart" error when I tried.

I think they were just using that as an excuse so they didn't get buried in copies of B4B. I actually tried the game yesterday and thought it was insanely boring

No doubt. It's on gamepass (pc and Xbox). I actually really liked the old left 4 dead games it's based on but haven't played b4b much to give a solid opinion.

Went to do some trade ins today and asked the guy about the $5 promo code on digital cards. He said that their S.L. said it'll be working again starting tmrw.

Seems like mixed messages from everyone.

Pretty sure the Gamestop motto is "Ask 10 employees the same question and receive 10 different answers."

Return/rebuy. Their online customer service is awful now - I did a text chat to ask for their price match policy. The gal sent me a link to screenrant.com and another to pricematch.com. When I asked for something from Gamestop she sent me to the store.

Thanks. If what you said came from any other company besides Gamestop I wouldn't believe it. lol

I'm officially in debt to Gamestop.

anyone know if the XSS can be traded in with a different color controller, or does it have to be the white one it came with?

Any official controller should be ok iirc. I traded my one s with a sport red controller last month.

Already over. Called to double check and was told by employee

Just traded in multiple games and got the 50% bonus. Methinks whoever you talked to was wrong.

So… does it mean switch lite bonus is back too? Anyone?

Honestly if you have a store close by, I'd just go in and ask if they can do a mock trade to see what value comes up. I happened to be in my store for something else and just so happened to ask which is how I found out. Came back a couple of hours later to do the trade.

I just got back from trading in my Xbox One X and Nintendo Switch. Was going to trade-in for cash, but I told the manager I was bummed that the extra $50 trade-in bonus ended last week.  He scanned in my systems to see what bonuses was available if I took trade-in credit, and the $50 bonus trade-in credit shown up for the X1X and $40 for the Switch. Got $325 for the X1X and $260 trade credit for the Switch. Bonus doesn't apply if you take cash.

Promo still works for the Xbox One S as well. Just walked out of the store with $215 credit. The manager had no idea it was still a thing until he looked it up in his system so it sounds like no one really knows when it's gonna end.

Just had an interesting interaction at the local gamestop today. I went to trade back in a game I bought for pickup the day before utilizing the $5 bonus. (I don't flip often for those wondering) It just so happens the same girl who rang me up the day before was there today.

"Didn't you just buy this game yesterday?"

"Yep. I beat it in a few hours so wanted to trade it back in"

"Why not just return it?"

"Nah it's fine I can just do a trade"

She then proceeds to look in the computer for the trade value ($18.20 with pro) and says "You must've paid more than that when you bought it yesterday" (I didn't) She THEN looks pulls up the price of the game NEW and says "oh yeah, you'd get a refund of $42.69. let me just do that." and hands me $42.69 in cash. No questions asked.

Of note: I did not have a copy of the original receipt on me, she claimed she couldn't find my order in the computer and i bought a much cheaper used copy.

I'm a bit conflicted on how to feel here. Hope she doesn't get in trouble.

I don't think a listing having (renewed) in it means much in regards to it being accepted or not. It really just comes down to how nitpicky the grader is.

I've traded in a bunch of renewed listings from consoles to games without issue and have had other stuff rejected for silly reasons like "disc has scratches" when I indicated light scratches on the listing.

I've heard nothing but bad things about them. Basically most of the games are purchased using stolen credit cards and you have no recourse if anything happens with the key unless you buy some insurance they offer.

You'd basically be better off pirating the game. The developer isn't going to see any of the money either way.
