#12351794 Steam/Origin etc Buy/Sell/Trade Thread! - READ THE OP! ONE POST EVERY...

Anyone here shop at G2A.com they have some really good deals.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor STEAM CD-KEY GLOBAL for $15.64 Dying Light STEAM CD-KEY PREORDER GLOBAL $33.17

Plus my son said if you put the code Frank you can get another discount or something. Anyone??

Be VERY careful with G2A, they are cheap, but they are also a marketplace so are open to scammers.

a, If you buy from one of their sellers and DON'T pay for the G2A Shield, then it is on your hands if they key does not work. I have had over 40+ purchases (admitedly some real bargains!) through G2A with no problems, but I bought Lego Batman 3 without the G2A shield a few weeks ago and found the key had already been activated on another account. Support's response was; No Shield? Then Tough s**t!. They didn't even try to contact the seller to help sort it out.

b, If you DO have a legit problem AND used Shield, then refunds can take over a month (with constant pestering)!

c, If you do buy a key from them, do not sit on it, activate it ASAP!

d, On top of the charge for using Shield, they also charge a fee on each sale. So the FINAL price = game price + shield service + fee.

btw, G2A Shield is a small program they send you, like Teamviewer, where one of their support staff watches your screen remotely while you activate the key to verify if the key works, rather than take your word for it.

Personally I will not be using them again.

They are a grey key seller, i.e. they re-sell keys/gifts, etc. They are not (AFAIK) an official reseller in anything.

They have a open market place (with a rep system) where you can sell your own keys. This can include region restricted games too, but the region restrictions are usually labelled.

And.... they charge a fee on top of the price (around $1)

I have bought 40+ keys from them (can provide proof if need be), no problems.

They do have a guarantee system called G2A Shield (at optional cost of around $1) where they verify the key has worked, using a system similar to Teamviewer to watch you activate the key. I doubt they will refund if you do not use this!!

The only issue I have had was with a refund. I added 2 Titanfall Season Passes to my basket by mistake, anything over $8 I use the guarantee system. And I explained to the live chat rep that I had paid for 2 copies in error.

They said I could get a refund on the spare no problem, and should only take a couple of days. It took just over a month to actually get it back. But I DID get it back!

So yeah, they are safe to buy from, BUT make sure you triple check everything before hitting that pay button.

When buying from G2A, check the following things:

-Region restrictions (read the item description)

-If a Marketplace seller, check the rating.

-Remember to add the cost of Shield (optional) and the transaction cost (not optional) to any listed price before going through the buying process, it will save you time.

-Check the cost all the way through to final payment.

Hope that helps.

PSA: Alien: Isolation from AMD Never Settle deal includes the Pre-order DLC, but NOT AND the TF2 stuff (need to start TF2 to be awarded).

So, no need to buy Crew Expendable.

#11596807 Saints Row 4 DLC (Steam) Region Locked?

Posted by Rhoobarb2005 on 10 March 2014 - 09:07 AM

Hi guys, just a quick question if anyone knows, is Saints Row 4 DLC (PC/Steam) region locked?

I wanted the Childs Play DLC, it was a 'limited time only' charity DLC pack and the Steam store no longer sells it, but Amazon US does (UK here).

...and the other DLC too, of course :)

Thanks :D

Did you also change your email password? If not, I'd strongly suggest you do so asap.   I was out of town when my steam account was hacked.   I also reviewed my email login activity and found the bastard had compromised that too.  Coincidentally this all happened less than 12 hours after bundlebandits mess up, but hey I got a free copy of penis frenzy out of it.

Yep, changed nearly all my passwords, I think it was just idiotic complacency on my part. I hadn't changed my Steam password for 9 years, and got burned for it. You live and learn.

Got a message this morning from Steam Support saying; thanks for the message :/

But at least they are on it, hopefully all will be well :D

My tip for keeping my account safe is never clicking any links. Every time I need to make a friend add or accept/send a gift, I go through the main page first.

I never click links from emails (learned that the hard way a few years ago!), the Bundlestars entry was from their site. :(

Gifts etc I am sure I only use the Steam frontend. My memory isn't great so cannot be sure.

ouch, I know first hand how sickening that feeling is.  as long as you sent everything to valve that is asked for on their faq, you should get it back in about 72 hours or so.   Did you by chance subscribe to the bundlebandits bullshit newsletter?

No, I never bothered with the bundlebandits as the only game I wanted was Puddle IIRC, I just have no idea how they got it. I am only signed up to 2 groups (Bundlestars and Family Sharing). I did enter the Bundlestars Game Giveaway, maybe linked to that? I honestly don't know :(

I will be honest and say I had a weak password, but Steam Guard was useless. It was a tug of war match last night, as I was trying to rest the password, he kept changing it. I lost in the end when I got the final "your email address was successfully changed" message :(

The emails went:

Steam account - Forgotten password

Steam account - Forgotten password

Your Steam account: Password change request

Steam account - Forgotten password

Your Steam account: Access from new computer <- (located at ALMATY ALMATY CITY KZ)

Recent changes to your Steam account <- (email change, nothing after that)

All done in less than 9 minutes! The problem I had was I always have a delay on getting Steam emails so I do not know if I may have authorized his request to change it, or mine to get it back! There should be IP and location info on all emails like that really.

You would think that Valve would lock down any high password activity accounts for 24 hours.

The moral of the story is a strong password boys and girls!

I have memorized a 42 digit password for the future ;)
