#14464396 The 2022 Gamestop Thread

Posted by noobcake on 22 February 2022 - 11:51 PM

Thanks for the tips guys! I was successful in trading both of my copies of 2k22 (one Xbox and one PS4) for $70 total trade-in credit. They priced out to $30/ea with my pro but went up to $35/ea when I added a $5 deposit towards GT7 (PS5). The only questions I have now are:

1) It seems like it hurts my store if I outright cancel the pre-order. If I end up not wanting it later can I just move the deposit towards a pre-order I do want for sure (like Mario Strikers Battle League) without any penalty for me or my store?

2) If I trade-in more games in the future can I just add $5 towards my existing GT7 pre-order deposit to trigger the 20% bonus again? That seems to be the case but the employee that helped me wasn't sure

1. I think if you move your pre-order, it's basically canceling your first one and placing another one, so it shouldn't hurt the store's number.

2. When I pre-ordered Advance Wars for the 20% bonus, I put down $5 on the first day, and then only $1 on the second day. Both got the 20% bonus.

Hey guys just trying to gain some clarity on the 20% bonus. Do I need to apply the whole value of the trade to the pre-order to get the bonus? If so then what happens if I change my mind later on? Will I lose the bonus if I end up cancelling the pre-order? Would it at least transfer at full value to a different pre-order? I'm also assuming it's only select pre-orders based on the last few replies

You tell the employee that you only want to put $5 towards the preorder and they'll put the rest on a trade credit card.

Am I still in the GameStop thread or did I accidentally stumble into a thread about tipping? Hell, even the last GameStop thread had people arguing about tipping...

Are there really no GameStop deals going on?

This part is confusing though. Are we still getting the bundle for $10 or nah? Probably not and it’s just a return but what are y’all interpretations?

To me, sounds like we'll be getting the bundle and being charged $299

Yeah, they changed the weekly ad URL. This is probably the most boring weekly ad I've seen.

Octopath for $30 (DOTD + CAG16) seems like a good deal

is GameStop's site down for anyone else or just me? I just see "Oops...Something went wrong" and a refresh button.

edit: Now they're back up. 10 minute maintenance I guess.

Before that we need more 'Haha guys I stacked glitches and got $5000 in Switches for $5' brag posts. Even bringing it up without it having been posted here is just pure trolling honestly, especially with everybody trying to find ways to cash out credit during all this mess.

Why post glitches when you can instead keep bragging about what everyone else didn't get, then be completely oblivious as to why people here hate you.

Possible stealth bump. New super mario bros 2 3ds went from 5 or 6 base to 17.50. Saw some other 3ds games go up. Spyro ps4 went from 15 to 20

I think some first party switch games also got a bump. The games that I traded in were $24-$27 base and are now $30-$33. Only game that I noticed that dropped was the new Pokemon games.
