Hey when it does get bundled I'll be right there with you buying it leeching a copy for my half-brothers fraternal twin's gerbil.

I My father's 6th wife's sister on my uncles side wouldn't mind having a Steam copy as well.

So you're welcome.

Congrats; I genuinely didn't think it was possible for anyone to have more of an absurdist, off-the-wall sense of humour than that of my own.

I'm just sayin', 205 isn't gonna impress many of the people here.

Go back to the Steam deals thread, you pro-DRM, rabble-rousing rapscallion!!   :boxing:

Just so you know how much of an anti-DRM maniac I am, as of this moment, my GOG count is now at 205 games.

...In other words, yes—even at 50-something years of age—mine is bigger than all of yours. :-

GOG doesn't list windows 7.  Anyone know if it's compatible?

I haven't played the GOG version, but with the Steam one, only a few basic compatibility tweaks are required to get it to work. I'm 99% sure it runs fairly flawlessly, but you might want to hit up your old mate Google just to be sure...   Still, I'd say you have a fair bet it will work, especially given GOG's fantastic reputation over said competition for having their catalogue be pretty Windows 7 compatible practically out of the box

P.S. - Oh, and my haul for this sale is now up to 29 of MysterD's precious toasters games, so naturally you can tell I am completely and utterly loathing this promo.  :whee:  :whee:

P.P.S. - And yes—because I know at least one of the billions of plebs here in the CAG community is just dying to know—I am purchasing these to burn onto discs for the family zombie shelter...      Ya know, when Z-Day hits, all those sad sods of nuclear families and far spectrum conspiracists out there will be fully stocked up on MREs, water filters, pharmaceuticals, and all that other crackin' jazz. Me? Well, at least I'll be able to sleep at night knowing I *just* finished King of Dragon Pass for the 9015th time (and also allowed the CD Projekt Red staffers to survive, knowing my hard-earned life savings allowed them to fuel their Winchester and dragon's breath habits).

EDIT: Updated for better link; you'd have thought explosive rounds would put a nasty-sized hole through a cartoon sponge, but apparently the laws of physics work differently in Middle America.  :-

Witcher Adventure Game...  Downloaded it...  Realized it was online only, and never touched it.   I get tons of beta's for online games...  I think the word is out...  He is fodder... give him a beta so we can crush him....

Anyone played Samaritans' Paradox?  Looks interesting...

If you like adventure games (or Sweden) in any way, shape, or form, then just buy Samaritan's Paradox, no questions asked...    If you're a point n' click fan, you'll enjoy it; I promise you that much.  ;)

This is a list of the games on sale in the "act now, limited time" section. Listed in order of the soonest to expire.

Carmageddon Max Pack - $1.99 (80% Off)

Deus Ex - $2.49 (75% Off)

Dreamfall: The Longest Journey - $2.99 (80% Off)

Rogue Legacy - $2.99 (80% Off)

Meh...I'll do the rest later.

This awful-ish sale would likely have made me vomit, if it weren't for the fact I just bought and am (as I type this) installing Jay and Silent Bob: The Adventure Game.

Great new deal every 40 minutes!  What kind of crap is this?  ...on a Wednesday?  They really want us to park at our cpu's all day and night?

Also, for all you budding philatelists out there, apparently hidden amidst their overcrowded new UI, there's a "stamp" rewards thingy for this sale. Every seven stamps you "collect" earns you a free game and movie.

Also, the whole of the Mount & Blade franchise is going to be released into GOG's catalogue today, in addition to a pre-order for the upcoming "Viking Conquest DLC" for Warband.

Damn.

So, apparently GOG has no soul—as noted by them oh so ungratefully wanting its users to get a wink of sleep—and is doing some lousy "Fall Sale" instead of the Insomnia Sale.

King of Dragon Pass is a solid game.  I have enjoyed it, while just meddling with it.  Try it... it is different then anything else you have ever played.

I was actually just going to post something similar to this, but it seems I've been outposted :-P

Still, I'll just elaborate on what Simpson said, just so you know how ruddy delightful KoDP is for a game.

Anyway, in my 40 or so years of playing video games, I'd have to say King of Dragon Pass is easily in my top 10 games of all time (maybe even in my top 5, to be quite honest). It's a perfect blend of RPG/strategy-esque with some adventure and interactive novel mechanics. As Simpson said, it's not like any other game I've ever come across, and it really and truly is worth at least one playthrough (which basically is like telling a child they're only allowed to eat *one* Drumstick lolly; you'll want to play it over and over and over and over and over again).

One word of note, however:   Even though the PC version of KoDP has most definitely stood the test of time, if you have an iPad/iPhone, I strongly suggest playing the iOS version instead. The developer has actually released a brilliantly updated and enhanced port, however, peculiarly enough, they never made this recent version available for PC (for what reason I do not know).

Nevertheless, my words can't give that game enough praise, as it really is utterly fantastic.

Just know you've been warned, though; it's MASSIVELY addicting...     Just make sure when you start, you have several litres of water on hand, a box full of MREs, and a day or two with nothing penciled in on your calendar.

GOG will be doing some sort of special sale starting on Monday. That's all I can really say, but I'm sure you'll see more on that on Monday morning.

Just out of sheer curiosity, from where did you hear this information?

Considering it's not yet autumn, I'm hoping to the gods above that it will *not* be an Insomnia Sale. My having consistent Net access only every three days or so here in Cambodia means that I would more than likely than not miss out on near everything off my wishlist that I've been wanting. Which, to be quite honest—knowing how much spite and Murphy's legal system loathe me—I wouldn't be the least surprised if fate punishes little ole' me by conjuring up an Insomnia Sale for the upcoming week.
