#13838932 Target Cartwheel Deals 9/24-9/30

Posted by Chokingduck on 24 September 2017 - 06:50 PM

I had never heard of Styx Shards of Darkness. Maybe not worth $30 but after 25% off and 30% off for a preorder it's about $17.

Styx Shards of Darkness is the sequel to Styx Master of Shadows.  It's a stealth game.  The original game was free for NA PS+ members in July of 2015.

The first one wasn't my cup of tea, but have at it.

And what are these qualifications?

If you have to ask, you don't meet the minimum.

Yes. "I want this price matched but in also buying these other items". I didn't think it was possible to go to target and leave without buying a bunch

Yep this is the trick.  Go up saying "I wanted to PM this... and while I'm here can I just buy the rest of this stuff... Oh I almost forgot my Cartwheel should save me a few pennies on these groceries..." Then act like I don't notice when the total drops dramatically, buffered slightly by the other stuff in the cart.

Will target price match and allow the cartwheel to stack?

The POS system will allow it, but policy says not to.  The trick is to get a cart full of stuff, bury the Cartwheel offer under other offers for something else (bread, tomatoes, whatever) and then after they price match, ask to check out the rest of your cart, and then at the end show your cartwheel.

#13764281 GameStop Weekly Deals Thread

Such a rush between Friday and Saturday. A few notable scenes:

Manager at one of my regular stores pulling the sticky labels off for me when buying them because they knew I was a “collector”. Not really just live in a kid free home and I take care of my things but whatever, he made my next flip even easier.

A store remarking what amazing trade in haul I had, when the previous store that I just left from said the same thing.

And god, yes they know what you are doing, another cashier offered up freshly traded in high value games to add to my pile to “take advantage of the B2G1 sale”.

When you buy a stack of very specific games in multiples of three, they know. And they don’t care, because it boosts their numbers. A few Jr Detectives and he who shall not be named might, but who cares? Keep calm, keep flipping. And even if this is the end of all flips, and/or we all get banned, we sure had fun doing it.

Went into GameStop and noticed the Song of the Deep watch was marked down to 4.97 an drew the PVC Sub statue was 6.97. Too good to pass up. Not sure if they have been this cheap or are new markdowns.

Yeah this was mentioned earlier in the the thread.  Is the watch worth $5?  One of the local stores has one.

Have BB price match Nioh at $49.99? With gcu it should be right at $40.

BB won't price match as it's an email not an ad, and GCU doesn't stack with PM

agreed, I'm not sure I saw anyone confirm this even though Deader indicated the AZ cards are back. I think it might be a bit premature that Deader meant they were purchaseable by GS credit. I read it that they restocked AZ cards, not that you could buy them on GS credit.

It's both. They restocked them and it has a new SKU which hasn't been blocked in their POS to be purchased with trade credit... yet. So the time to cash out is now

The weekly ad shows a $10 Gamestop GC with $60 Netflix card purchase. Does anyone know if you can use a gift card or trade credit to buy this and still get the $10 Gamestop GC? This is, of course, assuming you can still use trade credit to buy Netflix cards.

Yes you can use trade credit towards anything but the Visa POSA cards. You have to buy a Netflix $60 GC and also pick up one of those blank GS GC and tell them to put $10 on the GS card. It will end up subtracting $10 for the total transaction.

Same goes for the Uber GC, tell them you want $15 on an Uber and $5 on the GS GC. To the guy above you, yes you can get your GC back just bring in the receipts with the Uber GC, and they will rerun the transaction. Or just pile it all on one GC like they did for me.

So I take it now wouldn't be the best time to buy something on their website using a gifcard/trade credit? Can only imagine the order would get screwed up somehow and then I would be out credit... How can a company as big as GameStop have such a garbage website.

You shouldn't ever buy stuff on the GS website with a trade card unless you like to gamble.

"Afaik you can take in or reject any trade for any given reason

If someone rolls this over to me, and it doesn't look like it's been used at all, yes, I'll reject them."

How the Fuck can you tell if it has been used? I always get snarky comments b/c my discs look too new or not enough scratches on them lol

It's too funny, I have gotten this before for non-flips.  I'm sorry I take care of my belongings and don't touch the discs where they are to be read? I keep them either in the case or a big binder when not using them so they don't get scuffed up?

On a sidenote, Wii U copy of BotW was traded in to store A as I was completing my transaction, so I told the GM that I would go ahead and buy it, no need to bother putting it on the shelf.  I trade it into store B 15 minutes later, only to have what I presume a CAG'er behind me do the same thing to my copy.  Now that is the Circle of Life.

Dang they didn't have any hats where i went you think I can go to another game stop and show my receipt to get a hat lol

Honestly it depends on how cool the people work on there are.  When moving from the donor store to the flip store, the flip store asked me if the donor store gave me a COD hat, seeing as I mentioned preordering it, and how I was going to put Destiny 2 on preorder, they said, "Oh, did you get the hat? We have extra if not..."  Seeing as I didn't need/want the hat in the first place, I declined, but there are some cool folks out there.

Does anybody else feel uncomfortable when the employees/managers recognize you?

No, you gotta be Alpha about it.  I know the GM of the local store by name, and make sure to call him by name when entering the store and leaving.

Theres a demo of WOFF on the PSN store.

Though I tried it myself (I love Final Fantasy) and the demo didn't really convince me - perhaps not a good representative of the final game, so YMMV. I still plan on buying it cause vita means life.

I'm with you, I played the PS4 demo (as the Vita demo requires 3.61) and was really underwhelmed.
