Just to throw my 2c in - I renewed thanksgiving night via online, and HAVE gotten my jan. code no issue. Don't need to present the code or anything to redeem; they can see it on POS if you have the active offer.

Using it on a $5 or under game doesn't trigger sales tax, also - so I basically just walked in, grabbed a game for free, and walked out. Gonna clean them out of all the $5 junk I've never been able to match in b2g1 or 4/10, I guess; couple decent ones in that category (Some wii games like NiGHTS, junker wii u games, earlier 3ds games like Shinobi or Project X Zone)

Pokemon Emerald is up to $85 now...saw that today and laughed, considering most of those are fakes.

Yeeep, that was the one that got me to go through my christmas orders.

Gen 3 remakes boned us hard on that one re:what people want to buy for hoenn.

Fun facts! With average gba cart weight hovering around ~10g, 1 carat equalling 0.2g, and the equivalent weight of 50ct raw emerald running you around ~$500 usd in small, rough stones, gamestop is currently valuing pokemon emerald at around ~17% its weight in its equivalent precious gems! Buy buy buy!

Sounds like reward points are now tied to the GameStop stock price...

We'll eventually get to the point where the points themselves are more valuable.

I bought 2 used games a couple of days ago.

Would I be able to return and repurchase on the spot, in order to get the b2g1?

Anyone have experience with this?

If within return window, yep, barring cranky employee.

At least the employees won't make stupid comments about how much you've saved when you're trying to fly under the radar.

Kinda want to see last-day-on-the-job style meltdown vids for this.

"Annnd....there. Account deactivated, sir."

"Is...is that it? Are we done? Is...is it finally over?"

"Yes, sir. Can I help you with-"

"Hahaaaaa! Fuck you all! I've been exploiting you for YEARS! YEARS I SAY!"

"Check's in the mail!?"

"Yeah, that's right it is. I don't pay you! YOU pay ME! YOU'VE PAID ME THOUSANDS!"

"....Have a good day, si-"

Why are people cashing out their PUR points? Are they ending the reward system?

People who bought 5+ years of elite in 2018 looking to not get screwed out of the doubled elite price they paid at the time. Terms state you can cancel for a refund, but that the process of doing so entails closing your account entirely. Ergo, lost points. Ergo, min-maxing dictates cash out now all points now, call in, demand your [:30bux: * however many years], re-sub for $15 after check's in hand.

There's also reports from a couple dudes of their point totals redlining for no apparent reason visible on account or by support which is helpin' boost the spooks. Jury's out on how widespread that is, though.

Sorry about that misinformation. The guy at GS told me that and sold me the Switch version. Jokes on them because the last time I was there the store was busy and I walked out with two of the new Pokemon Amiibos without them noticing, so I guess that evens things out. And since it's not a local store I'm not really concerned about them catching me if the incident is on camera.

I literally use the exact same resurfacing machine at home to fix their botch job so I know it's possible to get good results with that machine.

Got a rec (machine+compounds)? Suddenly reminded I used to look be looking for one back in the day (~08-12) but only ever found a bunch of obviously shit hand-crank ones, machines with scathing reviews, and business-oriented models costing upwards of $1500.

Recently fulfilled another long-standing useless hardware desire by grabbing a datavac duster I never use; if there's a decent buffer out there I wouldn't mind wasting a paycheck to clean up gamestop's refuse.

Received part of my b2g2 order. Yoshi and xenoblade came in generic boxes, however I ordered xenoblade 2 torna and got xenoblade 2 instead. I can live with that.

Finalized haul. Got super lucky, but not as lucky as it looks there - Etrian IV, SMTIV:A, Gravity Rush, and Gamecube titles (!!!) all came with cases, and Star Fox + Animal Crossing came with Nintendo Selects cases, too - but all other cases represented there were ones I'd picked up before or immediately after receipt. And, as usual: no manuals for gamecube. Not too shook about it, though; 's something like my third goaround trying for those specific cases from them :D

Not without its headaches - dudes sent me two copies of PSMD, instead of one + one of the DS entries I ordered - but the finalized price is wellll under three digits after getting in ground floor on CAG16 and a handful of returns (that second PSMD, some nasty ps2+3 discs).

Can't beat dat. Plastic addiction fed for another year.

Half of mine came in generic cases, DQXI and The Witcher 3, both for switch. Of course none are in stock as pre owned anywhere near me to try and exchange. Anyone know a way to get original cases and covers for these?

Keep them, stay on the lookout, buy them next time you see them in the wild, return them next day without the case/in those generic ones. Only free/cheap means beyond returning them as-is right now.

During B2G2 I made a plan with him when I started to notice the lack prime switch tradable games out there. Basically both of us would go into a gs store fairly close apart to each other, trade in all our best shit, and then we would drive to where the other just traded in their stuff, play dumb and ask if they had a switch title the other just traded-in in stock pre owned. They would usually be like oh yea someone just dropped it off and have the games behind the counter

H GS flip party, LF1, HMU for deets.

MUST HAVE CAR, PURP (or better), TC$1000 or more (I WILL check)

If I bought a bunch of switch games during the last B2G1, could I just return them in store and use B2G2 to rebuy them?

Any product purchased between November 1 and December 24, 2019 may be returned with receipt by January 15, 2020. Product must be in resale condition. Package for new product must be unopened.

YMMV, but return/rebuy's usually honored, so unless they're salty with the holiday blues there's nothing stopping you. Just ask 'em is my suggestion.
