Hah yeah it was patched more than a COD game haha
There will always be an inherent difference though because all the games prior (save for the rare exception like EX) were all 2D and used sprites and had quite a different feel. I suppose I do see what you mean then about a more clunky feel especially when I think of what was prior. I would say though that you would get over that once you gave it more of a shot and the game did get smoother in general as the years passed.
Unless you are playing SFV strictly competitively for Tourneys and online play I would say steer clear of it for now until they patch in more content later down the road however because right now there is very little to do in 'single player.'
That's the kinda review I needed, thanks! I will hold off until they patch it a bit and bring out the extra content, plus it will be cheaper.

Not quite sure what you mean? SFIV, to me, has some of the best fighting game mechanics to date. What specifically about the gameplay put you off? For the most part the gameplay in SFV is still the same Street Fighter but with the added V-Trigger and their respective moves and then of course all the character changes along with tweaked frame data for their moves and combos and what not.
The controls felt very clunky to me compared to the VS/alpha series, and it didn't feel nearly as smooth, it just seemed....off. Granted I only played the first 2 weeks the game was out, and had heard it was balanced and patched a TON
