#14289825 Starlink starship packs at Dollar Tree

Posted by Vadid Nanko on 18 May 2020 - 01:05 AM

My sister found the whole set of four produced. This was in the Tampa Bay area in Florida. YMMV. These again are the starship packs which include a starship and figurine, but not the base game like the starter pack also contains.

If heading out be careful out there.

My order of Nintendo Switch games was canceled as well. Fire Emblem Three Houses shows up as being available at 6 stores within a 15 mile radius of me, Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening at four stores. My pro membership ended yesterday. I might be done with GameStop.

Mixed October pick-ups here. Top PS3 games were picked up from a pawn shop for $3 each. All Wii games were marked at $1.99 from a Salvation Army, one that rarely ever has any video games but that day miraculously had literally about 40. Some were scratched up and many I already owned or just weren't worth me picking up. I did also pick up Battlestations Pacific for $4.99. Sims 3 was another Salvation Army find but I don't think it was the same one.

Goodwill finds for $2.18 each on the Wii and PS3 games if I remember correctly. Uncharted Collection was a pawn shop find for $5.

The Wii and Xbox pick-ups were all from Goodwill. For whatever reason three of my local Goodwills price their games at $2.18 (even down to $1.18), but will go as high as $4.98, so I can't say if these all came from the same store. Probably not. I go all over! Champions Return to Arms was case and manual only but free from Salvation Army. Space Invaders and Courier Crisis were $5 each at a pawn shop (should have passed on both as Space Invaders label side was scratched). Socom was $3 that I picked up previously. Golden Tee was a dollar at another pawn shop. Picked up Trinity Universe from Gamestop.

Almost forgot these. all picked up from Goodwills at the end of October. Xbox 360 games were $4.98 still sealed. PS4 games were marked at $3.98 each and MGS 2 was probably $2.18.

Not much but thanks to the local pawn shops, thrift stores, and Facebook Marketplace listings, I got $79 credit on a $32 investment. I would have had more but decided to keep quite a few games. Actually, I got a few dollars more than expected as Fallout 4 still got a $5 trade bonus. I was going to just chuck it into my garage sale pile.

After striking out at a few thrift stores yesterday, I stopped by a local pawn shop. Pawn shops tend to always have more games than the thrifts but rarely do I come across a game I don't already own and want, so I pretty much expected to leave unhappy and frustrated like usual. I almost did after checking their video game rack, but also scanned where they have consoles stored in a glass display, and lo, these were in a box calling out to me at $1 each!

Picked these up from one Goodwill today. Spent $24 for everything (after donating up). PS2 with memory card was $6.98, Gameboy Advance lot (including games) was $6.98 and each Microsoft controller (black one is clearly in need of repair) was $3.98. I can't remember the last time I had a decent game find at this location. Pretty happy with all this.HWugnnd.jpg

Saw a thrift store listing on OfferUp for various gaming items that was a bit of a drive. Didn't pick up anything shown, but grabbed these for 99 cents each:

Shadow Hearts was missing the first disc but does have the manual. Mega Man Legends 2 and Star Ocean's discs have numerous light scratches but may survive a resurfacing. If so, I'd be very happy to have made the trip. Even more so than I was.

The drought at Goodwills in my area has ceased. Won't be able to complain for quite some time. NES games! A few of the games aren't worth much more than what I paid, but there's a few that more than make up for them. One in particular put me in a state of disbelief when I found out how much it's worth.BpMy3Ov.jpg

#14167168 2019 Yard Sale / Flea Market Finds

Posted by Vadid Nanko on 21 May 2019 - 04:30 PM

I met a woman, who was helping a friend or relative out at their yard sale, that informed me she had some old video game stuff at her place and I left her my number. A couple weeks later she called back and told me she had some PlayStation games. Nothing great and I only intended to spend $11 dollars but, while speaking to her and her boyfriend at their house, he remembered he had some Nintendo stuff. It turned out to be an N64 lot. The games have wear, were dirty and sticky (some had stains that had damaged either the front label or back sticker), as were a couple or so controllers, and the system itself, and the yellow controller I thought was the elusive DK64 controller but was just a yellow controller, still, $91. Pretty happy with that.

Earlier in the day, I found this PS One (empty, no controller, equipped with third party RFU adapter for PS2) for $4.98. Second one I've found at that price.

After buying a jigsaw puzzle at another Goodwill today I decided to take a quick look over the jewelry counter next to the exit. There was this bag of 16 Sega Genesis games for $39.98. Also included was a Sega Genesis Game Genie, and, oddly enough, Game Boy manuals, a football card, and a quarter. I don't do loose but couldn't pass this up.

Picked these up for $3.99 each. Harvest Moon is complete, Mario is disc only.attachicon.gifIMG_6792.JPG

Very cool. I found Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life too (at a Goodwill today). It was just the disc, unfortunately, on top of a stack of video games if I remember correctly. I got it for $2.18, so can't complain.

I think a couple of Goodwills around me know that some of us gamers, including myself, only donate items to their stores if we find good stuff ourselves. Or maybe they realize you need to actually have good stuff at the brick and mortars to keep customers. Or maybe they're just cool. Why do I think this?

Just under $3 complete and near mint:

Shocked to beat out others to a garage sale that mentioned video games. They didn't have much but I walked away with Minecraft, Grand Theft Auto V, and Forza V  for the Xbox One for $4 each. I also had Forza 6 but decided to let it go to a boy and his parents, who scooped up the Call of Duty Infinite Warfare and Zumba I left behind. The boy seemed so happy to get the two games he already had in his hand I just had to give him another to make up for the fact that he probably wouldn't be able to play, or like, Zumba. No loss as I already owned Forza 6 and just wanted it for trade bait.

Forgot to mention! The big find was getting a Wii U copy of Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for $3 (complete?)!

Facebook Marketplace deal. The games in the top two rows could use or need resurfacing, the bottom two rows are fine. Final Fantasy X-2, Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance, Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance II, Dragon Quest VIII, Summoner 2, and Shadow Hearts From the New World are incomplete. Dark Cloud case comes with manual but actually has Dark Cloud 2 game inside. Fantastic surprise as I already own Dark Cloud. All were $36 total ($2 each). Saw the listing 22 minutes after it was posted and rushed immediately to meet the seller a half hour away. I was late for work but it was so worth it!

Last week I found Sonic Adventure for the Sega Dreamcast complete. Today, I found these. It pays to check the CD section at thrift stores sometimes.

Final Fantasy VIII was a Blockbuster rental copy with the annoying security sticks on the discs and no manual, but the others are complete.
