Would easily pay $35 for a box of a GOTG like Cory in da House. The actually contents are pretty funny though lol

The NG+ of Cory in da House is insane...makes Bloodborne look like Mary Poppins.

I have a exciting date with a GameStop employee, she has eyes like a caterpillar and skin like a turtle. I’m beyond excited wish me luck!

i'm sure it'll end with her asking you to pre-order TLOU 2.

I’ve been on hold for 3 days. This is why I don’t bother calling gs anymore

I would love to know how many actual representatives GS has answering phones. I wouldn't be surprised if it was less than 10.

"Sir, just a sec, before you drive away...would you like to pre-order The Witcher 4?".

I also highly doubt the power will go out due to a virus. This isn't I Am Legend.

If Will Smith comes for my PS4, there will be fighting.

I won't even remotely considering ordering a PS5 or XBox One Series X on gamestop.com.  Probably not in store either.

Me neither. Simply don't trust them. Back in 2014, I bought a "new" PS3 at a GS and it was clearly scratched up and in used condition when opened. They have a culture of viewing opened items as new, and not just the whole "last copy unwrapped" thing. I was stunned to find out it pertains to shipping too. This past Black Friday, I bought a "New" game on Gamestop.com and it was unwrapped when it got to me and very clearly not brand new. No idea if it was pre-owned or the infamous "display copy" from somewhere. I had thought that nonsense only happened in-store but nope. Just reeks of cheapness. Call me naive but when I buy something in "New" condition on a retail website, I expect it to arrive in New condition. At least when you're in-store, you have a choice whether to choose the unwrapped 'last copy standing' or pass it up. Online, you shouldn't have to wonder if your New game is actually New or an opened copy from Paducah.

TIV is the only reason I step inside a GS anymore. I got $25 for "Outer Worlds" today. BB only gives you $15 for it. I just hope I'm not saving up GS credit for what will be the liquidation mad stampede rush.

I took awhile off from this thread, came back tonight...and I feel like Rick Grimes waking up in the hospital.

..How can anybody really be surprised in 2019 about GameStop's "new" bullshit?

I'm used to it "in-store". Didn't think they'd actually pull the same gabage with a new game purchase made via online shipping, where you have no option to decline getting an opened “new” game as you can when in the physical store. Returned it to a store tonight for store credit. The manager told me that every time GS asks his store to ship a new game to someone and there's only the unsealed copy left, he refuses. Wish more were like him.

Just not my holiday year. Gamestop/UPS shipment of Resident Evil 2 and DMC 5 apparently stolen off my front porch. Either that, or the driver still has ‘em. For some reason, the package containing Trine Collection for the Switch was left unharmed on my porch. Guess thieves don’t like puzzle platformers? Oh well....someone will get to enjoy two great games. I hope they have a wonderful time.

#14238243 Black Friday 2019 Video Game Deals - Master Thread, Spreadsheet, and General...

Posted by SideQuestsSuck on 30 November 2019 - 01:15 AM

It did seem like the video game displays were much smaller and/or fewer than years past. My Target had one two sided display of games and that was it. Was like 4 last year and most of them were 4 sided. Same with Wal Mart. I was able to get the games I wanted online, so it still worked out ok for me. I just picked up movies in store. Spent too much, but I do that every year, lol.

I've noticed this at other retailers too this week, like Best Buy. Most of the bigger sale titles were not even stocked for Black Friday. Almost seems like there's been a decision to scale back for physical titles this BF and just concede to online sales instead. Case in point, some of the bigger titles are already sold out on retailer websites, since they're mostly unavailable at b&m stores.

A year from now, we'll all be anticipating Cyberpunk and TLOU2 BF deals, and hoping the One X/PS4 get huge markdowns, as the PS5/X2 (?) are about to release. Black Friday 2020 is gonna be wild. Gaming is never boring, ya'll...

I really hate shopping at GameStop.  Unless they do something really great, I probably won't set foot in GameStop on Black Friday.

You don't like being asked every 20 seconds by a GS employee if you want to pre-order an upcoming game? I live for those moments!  :)

#14227032 The Half Price Books Thread

Posted by SideQuestsSuck on 09 November 2019 - 03:04 AM

I finally asked the manager of my nearby HPB why their video game prices are three years behind 1/2 off retail pricing and why some used games are more expensive than their new versions at Best Buy. He said that video games comprise so little of their overall sales that they don't track current pricing or update their games pricing. He admitted that their pricing isn't up to date and even advised I buy my used games elsewhere. Couldn't believe what I was hearing but whatever.

The crystal DS4 is showing up at $11 and in limited stock at two stores nearby. Gonna check tomorrow and see if either one may have it.

"Limited Stock" at every WM near me....translation: "None here...either they're all stolen or our inventory is wrong again...sorry."
