#14275794 Humble Bundle Thread

Oof, talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel.

I dunno, as someone who doesn't have any of those games (and has heard good things about most of them), it looks decent enough to me. I might bite.

It's official: the best FFVII figures of 1997 2020 are getting a Western release, including the secret Miss Cloud (not shown):

So far, I've seen them at Square Enix's online store and BigBadToyStore (and preordered two sets from the latter).

Square Enix is releasing Final Fantasy VII Remake World Preview in English in September (MSRP: $24.99). There's also an FFVII Poster Book due out in November at the same price point.

I'm gonna return Amaterasu after all. Took a more in-depth look at her today to help me decide whether or not to keep her and noticed a bunch of tiny little paint flaws for the first time. The visible seam marks I don't mind so much, but not this paint job. That combined with the reflector damage makes her an easy return.

It's disappointing, to say the least. I hope an Ammy figma gets made since I don't much like the chubbiness of the Nendo.

TOM is carrying F4F's PVC statues now! Glad I held off on getting their PVC Ammy; my points will cover that one nicely :D

Not as good, but Target is running $5 off $20 in books this week.

They're also doing 15% off books today only. It stacks with the $5 off $20 deal.

Things From Another World has some decent Nintendo books on sale, and you can use "BLACKFRIDAY19" at check-out for an additional $5 off of your order. The three stand outs here appear to be the standard and LE of the Mario Encyclopedia and the Zelda Arts & Artifacts, as the others may not be better than some other places. https://www.tfaw.com...ult/?q=nintendo
They also offer other "gaming" publications as well, I just didn't have the time to search other deals out, so take a look before you check out, as some other deals may be possible.
EDIT: Square Enix: https://www.tfaw.com.../?q=square enix

TFAW and Dark Horse have a shared history (the founder of both is the same person), so it's worth searching that site for all Dark Horse artbook deals during their big sales. Unfortunately, sorting is a little busted on their new site, but if there's a specific Dark Horse artbook you're after, you might want to do a quick search.

Right now, in addition to the Nintendo and Square Enix books, there's some great discounts on their Battlefield V, Uncharted 4, and Gears 4 artbooks, amongst some others.

Hardcore Gaming 101's book on Japanese video game obscurities came out for backers recently. Got my copy in yesterday and it's lovely. For those who missed it earlier, Amazon's got preorders open, and the Kindle edition is available now.

#14216502 DEAD: Target Zelda dreamer edition back in stock

Posted by RKasa on 06 October 2019 - 04:28 AM

Yeah, that sucks for sure, as it still boggles my mind how places send something like this in a bubble mailer. The outer box is cool, but for this item I mostly wanted the book, so a damaged box wouldn't be the end of my world, so long as the book isn't damaged. If the box is key to you, returning it means no replacement I'm sure, as these are sold out.
You could try to get some type of discount through customer service, and then try to maybe buy just the box down the road on Ebay on the cheap. I'm sure some will buy this for just the book and then offer just the box and maybe the game on there own at some point.

Did better than that: my husband was in Manhattan today for a tech conference, so I asked him to check Nintendo NY later (we live in NJ, but hardly ever go into the city). They still had copies! The front of the box has a couple of tiny spots where the printed image chipped off, but it's way better than the one I got from Target, which is definitely going to be returned now.

One interesting thing he learned from a Nintendo NY staffer is that even they had gotten damaged copies in. Apparently, a bunch of them were banged up before they left the warehouse. Nintendo should really invest in sturdier boxes for these sorts of releases...

TFAW's Deal of the Day is the Final Fantasy Ultimania Archive Vol. 1 for $12.00. Shipping isn't cheap, but they pack their books really well.

What did you get from the sale?

Figure-wise, my big pickup was AGP MS Girl S Gundam for 6600 yen. I love Gundam Girls, but the early figure versions of them apparently weren't very good, quality-wise, and the later ones are supposed to be better but are also much more expensive. S Gundam is one of the latter, and seeing as how her MSRP is 11,000 yen, there was no way I could pass her up.

My other figure pickup was this Miku version of Danboard. I like Miku, I like Yotsuba&!, so why not?

I also got a Pikachu sticky note set, Kirby multi-pocket clear file and notebook set, Touhou art/how-to book, and the Chocobo's Crystal Hunt card game and expansion.

More MFC copy-pasta:

Right Stuf: This shop is now selling several "imperfect" figures with discounts. These items have damaged boxes, but the figures themselves are fine - https://www.rightstu...rds=[Imperfect]
HLJ: Autumn Sale starts Thursday, September 19th at 11 AM (JST).

It's not clear if this is one of their sales where they add new categories of items every day, but the email says, "Be sure to visit us when it starts to get the best deals on popular products from action figures to scale models -- while they last!"

As a reminder, HLJ sales sometimes start a little late, so keep that in mind.

Well that came out of nowhere.

I had pretty much the same reaction, but, y'know, if it leads to a Doomguy figma down the line, it's all good :D
