#14151435 Limited Run Games Thread - The Switch is on!

Posted by Dr_dreadful on 05 April 2019 - 01:11 AM

Good. Companies not collecting tax is one of the biggest reasons state funding for schools, infrastructure, etc., have gone to the s#!ts.

Not true at all. It isn't how much tax money they collect its what they do with it is the problem. More money doesn't fix anything if you dont know how to spend it to be effective in the first place.

More taxes is never the correct answer. It would just mean more money pissed away and nothing will change.

It's short sightedness like that though which leaves us with expense issues later. More companies get taxed the more jobs they move out of the country to save money, the more they lower their product quality to save money, more jobs they cut, more taxes they pay the more they charge us. And at the end of the day the schools and "infrastructure" as you call it wont change one single bit.

Sorry, kinda random but I've had the Caligula Effect Asia CE for a while, and decided to do an unboxing for it. Sorry if I sound like I am doing a school presentation. Anyway, I tried to do one of those no-BS ones, and all I really do is show and talk about the CE here as fast as I could, to keep it under 3 minutes. Thanks for watching!

I'll probably be streaming the game on my Twitch channel soon too.

#14115585 Target Clearance Thread XXIV

Posted by Starcrest on 07 January 2019 - 09:42 PM

A month back I bought two Sphero Star Wars droid at a walmart. At first I had a hard time tracking them down so I had to look for some help. Surprisingly the person who ended up helping me was the toy department manager. He helped me track down the last two in stock (one was an xmas gift). Both were spider wrapped since it was originally a high dollar item though now on clearance, which is why I went to buy it there.

After we found the droids, I noticed the packaging looked off on one of them. The manager removed the spider wrap off both and I asked if they didn't mind I open them in store. Sure enough, the odd looking that even had multiple UPCs on the bottom (another red flag) was empty inside. He said to me he wasn't surprised at all.

That’s because these weren’t the droids you were looking for. Just move along.

I hate to see Jurai and others not wanting to post deals anymore, but I do understand. I’d probably feel the same way if I was the one posting all these deals and then see people bragging about buying out the stores. It’s really unnecessary and childish.

Anyway, I really appreciate the deals that have been posted over the last year. I’ve got a lot of great games for amazing prices and even a few non gaming things thanks to the posters in this thread.

Same for me. The reduced price guide thread used to be amazing. Now it's dead, and I feel I'm the only one who posts there anymore. (didn't forget about you Darby if you see this!). Something happened with Blackbeard, who used to post excel spreadsheets to help find the guides. He bounced last year and the thread died.

I used to give away so much here back in the day, from free XBL codes to club Nintendo points. I do post finds here though I often caution myself, especially until after I get what I was looking for in fear of scalpers buying everything up.

And to members who post "who cares if scalpers buy out stores, it doesn't affect you". How in the hell do you know that? Do you personally know where every member lives? Who is to say one isn't your next door neighbor and then you come here complaining "someone buys out my area every time a deal is posted".

I bought Ys VIII for PS4 last night and missed today's brief sale. Thankfully, after 15 minutes in chat with CS, they matched the discounted price with GCU and refunded the difference ($48 to $32).

Since there was no way I would have noticed and ordered it at $40 today, ordering in advance was pretty much the best possible thing I could have done. I ordered last night because the discussion about Gamefly offering it used for $34.99 led to people mentioning that it's getting scarce, so I figured it probably wouldn't drop in price before going OOS. I was wrong in the best way.

Dragon’s Crown Pro Standard Edition is $19.99 on Amazon.

It's also worth noting that if you still have GCU, you can get the Battle Hardened Edition for $23.99 at Best Buy.

If you do intend to play them that is a great deal. The Vita version has become quite rare and expensive lately. The cheapest used copy on eBay right now is $50 and that’s for the cartridge only.

I highly recommend you give the series a go. They actually turned out being my favorite games on the Vita.

For what it's worth, VGP still has them in stock brand new for less than that: https://www.videogam...ta-p-24392.html

Just make sure you use PayPal if you buy from them, their credit card processing is suspected to have vulnerabilities.

I guess it helps that I’ve never played any of the previous games. Maybe if I would have played some of them I wouldn’t like this game as much.

I can respect your opinion, especially coming from someone who’s played all the games. Honestly, makes me really want to try the other games if this really is the worst one.

As a second opinion I thought it was great and have liked them all pretty equally.

It says $4.99 in the ad. Not bad if you can fit a bunch of stuff in it.

Going to go in and cram a switch into it
