I traded regularly with roguelvlup until Humble started hitting me with excessive region locks that made it impossible to continue trading. He's trustworthy and patient, even with weird flaky idiots like myself.

She sent me a gift link. I checked the store page on both an American IP and used a VPN to check it on an IP in her country and did a ctrl-f for "region," "countr," "lock," "restri," and "key," and see nothing suggesting the key is region-locked. I also added it to my cart and see no region-relevant information. Where does it normally tell you these things?

 

And yeah, I'm gonna contact support once she's awake and we can communicate some of the information I'll need to give them.

Humble doesn't show any restrictions while you're on the store, that's the worst part about them. The lock is added once you give them the money. If you buy a bundle and try to send a key from it as a gift link, only then it will show you any restrictions applied to it. It's why I no longer buy bundles as soon as possible, I have to wait until people have verified that I won't be stuck with stuff I can't trade or give away.

Bit of an odd situation with Humble and Steam. A friend in another country got something from the Humble Store for me, but it turned out to be a region-locked key that doesn’t activate on my US Steam account. Does anyone know what we need to do to get that refunded?

Since no one has given you an actual answer... contact support. They might give your friend a refund, but they might also say "your friend was warned that the key would be region locked blah blah" and refuse, which is bullshit.

Did your friend send a gift link, or did they send the key itself? If you got a pasted key then you might be screwed because Humble sucks ass.

I live in Mexico, get charged the same price as Americans and still get region locked keys. I complained months ago, and they told me "tough shit, that's what you get for living there."

 

Does that mean Foxhack will have to boycott Focus Home Interactive? :p

Dotemu Wants To Make Games Based on Terminator, Conan, And Other Nostalgic Action Franchises

If Focus Home was able to buy DotEmu it probably means they were bleeding money, despite having a massive hit with Streets of Rage 4. DotEmu did not develop it on its own. It was developed by DotEmu, Lizardcube and Guard Crush (engine), and I'm pretty sure DotEmu didn't do that much to begin with.

That said I hope Focus Home will force DotEmu to stop releasing games in half-finished conditions and actually do some QA on their stuff. I can dream, no?

As for DotEmu wanting to do all those franchises... as long as they don't do anything and let other studios handle the work, who cares. All of those games will vanish a year or two after release, anyway.

I basically used this sale to complete a bunch of sets and got some extra cheap stuff in case I'm not capable of getting these prices in the future. The most expensive thing in this lot was Team Sonic Racing, because who knows if that'll ever be put on sale again.

I'm starting to think Humble is not going to send me any coupons to unpause before the monthly resets. :(

I might be willing to pay two-year-old game prices for it, since there will likely actually be a community on Steam

I mentioned this "nonsense" a few days ago. People are getting hacked through a phishing scam where a friend asks you to vote for their team. It takes you to a legit looking site with a fake Steam OpenID page, you log in thinking it's real, bam. They got you.

This is one guy doing this stuff, because some folks have tried talking to him and as soon as he realizes you're on to him, he unfriends you. It's almost the same script, too.
