These books usually retail at $9.99 or higher so you're getting a lot of them for around 40-50% off. These prices fluctuate. Some of them go back to the usual Amazon discounted price of around $7ish but generally come back down after a while. There are some other books, too, like Birthright Vol. 1 and Copperhead Vol. 1 and a few others that come down around $5 that currently aren't that cheap. If you scroll through the 'customers also bought' recommendations you'll see a lot of those books.

I have read or at least own most of these books so if you need any recommendations or want to know a bit more about them let me know!

Win a full set of the Culper Ring series by Brad Meltzer

28 May 2015 - 04:36 AM

I know this giveaway isn't really video game related to any degree but I figured there might be some people here who are interested.

My blog, Nerdophiles, is doing a giveaway in conjunction with Grand Central Publishing to bring attention to the release of The President's Shadow - the third book in the Culper Ring series. It's a kind of action/mystery/suspense/historical fiction-ish series.

Here's the link.

Definitely worth checking out. Very good odds at winning so far!

The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies (Digital HD) Contest

23 March 2015 - 12:21 AM

My blog recently partnered up with Warner Home Video and Partners Hub to do a giveaway for one copy of the Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies on Digital HD.

We're not the only blog doing one so I recommend googling other blogs and entering there, too. You can only win one copy but you could increase your chances a lot by entering in multiple places.

Here's the Nerdophiles link.

Win a February "UNDEAD" Themed ZBOX

21 February 2015 - 03:45 AM

Another giveaway from Nerdophiles here! This time we're teaming up with Zavvi.com to giveaway one of their ZBOX mystery subscription boxes. This one has an 'Undead' theme so there will be zombies. Presumably lots of zombies.

... we’re super excited to be teaming up with the folks over at Zavvi to offer you one of their sold-out February ZBOX subscription boxes. This month’s theme is “UNDEAD” which is perfect because if there’s anything we love more than subscription boxes it’s zombies.

Never heard of ZBOX?

It’s a new monthly mystery box offered by Zavvi, a UK-based company that ships worldwide. The February box will be their third box and if you want an idea of what you’ll get, check out their past boxes! (Spoiler: they’re freakin’ sweet.) ZBOX features awesome items and gear focused on a new pop culture influenced theme every month. March’s theme has already been announced and gamers in particular should enjoy the “RETRO” theme.

We’re super excited to get our first box. Check back here next week for our unboxing video and our inevitable giddiness at so much awesome “UNDEAD” swag. Or subscribe to us on YouTube for updates. We’ll be announcing the winner in the video first so watch and keep your fingers crossed!

Closes at 11:59 PM PST Wednesday.

Win Brandon Sanderson's Steelheart and Firefight

03 February 2015 - 02:36 AM

My blog has partnered up with Random House to do a giveaway for Brandon Sanderson's latest release - Firefight. It's the second book in the Reckoners series and a sequel to Steelheart.

The basic gist of the series boils down to superheroes are real and they're basically real dicks about it. Instead of helping people, they are corrupted by their owners and take over the world entirely. They squabble among each other and generally treat humans horribly. The main character, David, joins a band of rebels dedicated to eradicating these 'Epics' one by one.

They're actually really awesome books. I've really enjoyed them. These are my first Brandon Sanderson books but I'm told if you've liked his other stuff you'll like these, too.
