#14023096 EXTRA25 code on Google Express - 25% off, max discount $100, expires 07/17

Posted by gantt on 10 July 2018 - 06:14 PM

Not really sure why the tax was being applied BEFORE the coupon which seems shady to me.

But I was able to grab one yesterday.   Nice deal OP.

"In most states, you’ll see a tax applied to your items for their full listed price, before a promo code is applied. Exceptions apply in certain states, such as Texas, where a promo code also reduces the item’s taxable value: you’ll pay tax for the price of the item minus the promotional value.

For example, if you use a $20 promo code for a $50 item coming from a Texas store (most retailers) you will only be taxed for the $30 you paid for. In most other states you’ll pay tax for the full $50 item."

TLDR: God bless Texas.

Sigh. I guess we couldn't expect Hubert to have much respect for our leaders. Now if it was the Napolean Day Sale...

#13931724 Prey $12 @ Microsoft Store

It's finally dropped below the $20. Try to pull up to your local microsoft store for this one.

It's been $15. And our local Microsoft Store is on the upper level of a mall, but you could try that. ;)

#13883268 Best Buy Black Friday 2017

Posted by gantt on 20 November 2017 - 08:07 AM

I member when Best Buy was great. You could make a hundred orders with no cancellations. You can still abuse GCU with no repercussions (just don't contact support if you have an issue), but I truly miss being able to easily make a shit ton of orders.

These days they cap you at 5 orders and start auto-cancelling after that.

#MakeBestBuyGreatAgain

Is that what exiles you to cancellation-land? More than 5 orders in some (presumably short) time period?

I can see them having issues with violating the terms of GCU, of course, but why would they effectively ban you for making multiple orders consisting of different items? They really have so much revenue they don't want more?

Seems idiotic, no to mention the total lack of transparency (which isn't surprising given they way they've instituted return bans in the past - or rather, outsourced return bans).

Does anyone else tend to get a lot of loose discs when they order PS4 games, especially from Best Buy?

That's how I know which packages are PS4 games.

Tilt.

*Thunk*

Yep...

They can make a virtual reality headset, but they can't figure out how to secure an optical disc in a plastic case.

Scorpio edition is beautiful but heavy as hell...

That green "Project Scorpio" printing must be some pretty dense ink!

#13865287 PlayStation Plus 1 Year Membership $39.99 at Gamestop and Amazon

I think people become so obsessed with getting a good price that they buy things that they know they don't really need.

Cheapy's counting on it!

Would Best Buy price match this by chance?

Painfully, yes. I'm coming to the conclusion that unless it's a high-dollar item that would significantly contribute to your My Best Buy status, or you have certificates expiring, it's just not worth the time and hassle to price match at Best Buy.

game is back but at full price

But that hat!

BTW, is the commonly accepted definition of insanity buying games for consoles you don't own?

#13812502 SNES Classic up at best buy

Posted by gantt on 22 August 2017 - 06:55 AM

What a cluster.

You can pre-order it.

It's OOS.

"We can't ship to that address."

"This item is available for delivery only

This item is available for shipping only"

Didn't think it was possible to make the Wal-Mart situation look good, but those Best Buy overachievers.

#13777033 Amazon Prime Day is Live!

Posted by gantt on 12 July 2017 - 05:44 AM

How much was the Ezio Collection game with the prime deal? Was hoping to grab this and Bioshock collection since I still live in last gen gaming. Can't really leave these games behind. Still hoping for a Dead Space  and Read Dead RM.

I saw $20. In other words, at least $4 too much: can smell $16 w/GCU.

all the games seem $5-$20 overpriced (above recent deals).

maybe the one day sale prices aren't showing up for me?

Not sure if the price has been lower.

$23.99 w/GCU in March. Same SKU but back then the description included "Digibook Edition".

Tempted, but they say don't try to catch a falling Ubisoft game.
