Hey guys, have you noticed that you can't say SNES Classic without NES Classic? Crazy, right

Thanks for the heads-up! Have you had success with this?
Yes, I most recently used it to get a Fire Emblem Echoes LE from Amazon as well as used it a good amount during the original amiibo hype. Just be sure to set the monitored element to something that will change when it comes in stock. The app doesn't actually know if the item is in stock or not, it just tells you if a page has changed. However, that's good enough for our purposes.

This was guaranteed to happen. I remember lots of entertainment in the amiibo LINE group with people who were perfectly nice suddenly flip and post genitalia in the alerts group at 3am.
As long as those twatwaffles are still around, it'll happen again. Don't bother with discord if you have an Android phone:
Install this app, add the direct page to the mini and select the Coming Soon button element for monitoring. Set it to check every minute (unless you have your hands tied by low data cap) and set the notifications as you choose.

big difference between not sympathizing with them and being annoyed because you're getting attitude for asking if a product is in stock because you'd like to give their store money and support their job/business. They aren't police or military so I can only spare so much sympathy for these miserable jerks....
Totally missed the point.

Honestly, the biggest people that're going to get burned is the people hoping to use it as trade bait. This is actually good thing for scalpers because it means they can short sell with less risk
It's impossible to get burned unless you pay above retail, since any amiibo can be returned to the store, at worst receiptless for store credit.
A story my friend likes to tell: a guy reserved 11 Halo 3 Legendaries to flip at his Gamestop. When he failed to sell any, he just returned them all. They sat in the back of the store until they were new used and the LE parts were thrown away/taken home.

Thanks for the help, I work relatively close to a Gamestop, so I'll just run down as soon as I catch wind. Thanks!
No problem. Just keep a general eye on things so you know when the shit hits the fan. It won't require insane timing like the Gold Mario did, but you may need to go on a lunch break or after work the day you find out.
That's too bad because it's part of the amiibo dictionary.
The dictionary made by nitwit reddit teenagers? Yeah, no thanks.
how can you say that with a straight face with a pikachu toy hanging on your wall. Lol!
I'll tell you how: for years, I did research for and worked on game collecting rarity lists. My friend and I wrote the Digital Press SNES list, which is the one either used everywhere or copied by everyone. Yes, I am in fact looking at it as SRS BZNS.
Unicorn is an idiotic term for rare, when no amiibo is actually rare considering the definition of the term as well as how it applies to general game collecting.
The crap 12 year olds come up with.
If only they had $50 they could buy many of the "unicorns". So much money!
This so hard, it hurts.

This is my first try at getting an Amiibo (Ness at that ) and was wondering when it'll be announced and what's the best vendor to go through to pre-order it? Thanks guys.
First off, don't do this:
The best? Newegg. Definitely newegg.
It will be announced when you're sleeping, showering, eating, making a long distance call to auntie, shopping, reading, watching a movie, playing a game or otherwise not looking.
Here's the problem: the preorders for the next wave, which include Ness, will probably be gone at each retailer's site within an hour. It's that crazy.
Your best bet to avoid this craziness is this: when you hear that Gamestop preorders went up, that day or the next day if it's later in the day, IMMEDIATELY go to a Gamestop and preorder it in-store. Online GS preorders precede in-store by a business day or less - this was the case for the MP10 figures.
The window will be tight, but in-store Gamestop has lasted the longest for amiibos, the Majora's Mask LE and the New 3DS Majora's system.

Take it with a grain of salt (salt jokes aside), rumour mill is running rampant...
"Potential preorder for Silver Mario today at Gamestop?
Wanna hear something fun?Went to gamestop on a whim today while out getting cosplay supplies. They had gotten in about 30 megaman's, 20 bowsers and had 2 sonic's left. Picked up a sonic and megaman and the guy behind the counter said that, "I may want to stop in early tomorrow, there's a new amiibo sku in their systems thats slated to release tomorrow".So have fun with that."
Total bullshit from a single GS employee. Why does anyone fall for this nonsense?

You guys do realize that 99.9% of the Gold Mario's "sold" on eBay right now aren't actually being sold, right? They're absolutely all being won by shill and troll bidders that aren't actually going to pay. No one is going to pay those prices before the thing is actually released since no one knows how hard to find it will or won't be.
And how do you know this for sure? People are *very* stupid with their money. They could see a Sold Out and head right to eBay.
nope not fraud, custom amiibos are a thing.
Yeah, no one should have a problem with custom amiibos and their prices. People can charge what they think their time is worth. Some look professional, some look embarrassing.
