#14265046 Nintendo eShop Deals - 2/13: Activision/Blizzard/Capcom/EA/Ubisoft/WB Sales...

I've never payed attention to Picross games; I just knew that they were about "making pictures appear by filling boxes", but just read about it and how it plays out/techniques to solve it and holy sh*t! I love it! Being a Sudoku fan, I will surely give this genre a chance! If anybody can recommend Picross games as a starting point, I'll appreciate it.

This site gives you the most bang for your buck (free): https://www.nonograms.org/

As for Nintendo options, Pokemon Picross on the 3ds is free, but has some annoying microtransactions.

Picross 3d for DS and Picross 3d round 2 for 3ds are pretty awesome twists on the game.

Oh, man, just tried the Steam recommender and my 1 and 3 picks were ridiculous

Dota2, similar to Pubg, L4D2, Slay the Spire

One Finger Death Punch

CSGO, similar to Pubg, L4D2, Euro Truck Simulator 2

Also, I want to second South Park Stick of Truth as my favorite turn-based rpg of all time. Fractured seemed to improve a lot of stuff, but for some reason wasn't as fun and of course the writing wasn't as good.

BTW, just a reminder that Frostpunk and Night Call are both on PC Game Pass.

And Book of Demons.

I beat Frostpunk in normal mode even though I haven't really gotten into a city management game since Simcity 3000. Not sure why this one grabbed me, but I really liked it. I did basically beat it in a weekend and after beating it I haven't had any desire to go back to it even though it has scenarios and other difficulties.

With 2 the most interesting games in game pass, easy 3rd pass in a row for me.

I played 3 new games on game pass this weekend. I was really looking forward to Lonely Mountain Downhill since it had gotten some acclaim and it sounded like my kind of game. It's cool, but the presentation is a little lackluster and the perspective is kind of a cool choice, but I feel like it makes the game overly difficult to play. Not that the game is hard, but with the low quality visuals and the game focusing almost entirely on you navigating terrain, choosing that camera angle seems like a bad idea.

While that was a bit of a disappointment, the other 2 were nice surprises. My Friend Pedro is a side-scroller shooter/platformer with the vibe of Hotline Miami mixed with Deadpool. It's not a really hardcore game like Hotline though; it's more of a casual shooter so far and I'm really enjoying the gameplay and tone.

Played a game of Frostpunk and lost because I didn't know what to prioritize. Started another game and ended up winning on Monday night. Pretty surprised I won my second game, but there's other scenarios, difficulties and an endless mode so there's definitely more to do although I feel like I might've seen most of the game in that 1 playthrough. I really enjoyed it, but strategy games can get repetitive so fast.

Surprised by the positive comments here and on reddit. Absolutely nothing I'm interested in this month.

I guess the classic plan actually has to choose this month and you don't automatically get all game like last month?

My steam haul was Death's Hangover for $0.50.

Found it in a hidden gems thread and I'm a sucker for breakout games. I'm a little disappointed that it's so short. I beat it in under an hour, but still enjoyed it and it seems like there's a decent number of hidden stuff I can go back and get on replays.

What % of people played even a single free game from EGS?

Heh, I was just looking at my playtime on the Epic app since I was curious how much time I actually put into the free games:

Subnautica 2 hours

Rayman Legends 45m

Everything 35m

Enter the Gungeon 50m

City of Brass 30m

I do plan on putting some time into Yooka Laylee in the next couple days and I would like to try Axiom Verge some day, but it's never been able to motivate me to move it up in my backlog.

Of course there's also games that I now have access to in multiple places. Steam is obviously the default preferred place to play something, but if I have it on Twitch and Epic, which version should I play? If I have it on Epic and Xbox Game Pass, do I play it on Epic since I own that version or do I play it on XGP and get achievements?

Seems like Epic might be continuing the weekly giveaways next year after all.

Man, epic ended up giving out 67 free games this year. They were all pretty good ones too, although there was only about 5 that I didn't already own and was interested in.

I'm enjoying seeing people debating whether it'll be the first or second Yooka Laylee given out. Seems like it'd be a good way to end their year of free games by giving away both games.

is Outer Wilds 2deep4u? alot of people i follow have it as their goty and i don't feel like playing a pretentious, too far up its own butt type game during my somewhat limited free time. anyways, any help is appreciated.

I finished it yesterday. I was a bit disappointed that I didn't have an emotional reaction to any of it since it was so hyped up, but it is really good. If you like exploring and puzzle solving, you'll probably like it. There is a decent amount of existential pondering within the story, but I didn't really overthink the story too much and was mostly in it for the exploring and puzzle solving. I guess if that type of story doesn't interest you at all, you might be turned off by this.

I did end up having to use a walkthrough for some of the game. This kind of puzzle solving has never been my strong suit.

Looks like tomorrow's free Epic game is Towerfall.

Epic sale seems pretty good. Coupon is a little confusing though. $10 coupon which says it's good for all eligible $14.99 and above games. Not sure if eligible just refers to having to be 14.99 or if there's other exclusions. Also, they say they give you 1 coupon, but after every purchase you get another. Seems like an overly complicated way to do it.

A couple nice deals I noticed initially are Division 2 for $5, Breakpoint for $14 and Superliminal for $6.

Oh, cool, just saw that the coupon is good until 5/1/20. That explains why they did it the way they did .

Heh, decided to actually read the faq on this page: https://www.epicgame...liday-sale-2019

Other ineligible purchases for the coupon include all dlc and anything unreleased

FH3 was my first Forza and I got a bundle with the Hot Wheels stuff. I couldn't ever get that into the main game or the Hot Wheels, but I ended up loving FH4. I played most of Fortune Island and bought the Lego expansion, but haven't had a chance to play it yet.

I just saw that FH4 is giving away a free car every day this month. For today's car, if you get all the perks, you get another car too.

Watch the Game Awards via Steam and you have a chance to win a game or even a Valve Index: https://store.steamp...945535474246056

I won Battletech last year; pretty lucky that I not only won, but got something I wanted since it supposedly doesn't look at your wish list. The selection this year is a little worse; only episode 1 of LIS 2, really?

#14235104 Epic Store Black Friday Sale

Pretty lame sale; they set expectations high with that first sale they did. I hope Outer Wilds goes to PC game pass soonish since it's been on xbox game pass since launch.
