In Topic: New Monthly $5 Dollar Cert for Power Up Rewards Pro

13 December 2020 - 08:33 PM

I just joined last month for the first time, and tried to use my $5 coupon online, which gave me an error no matter what I tried to apply it to. I then tried using it in store, and got the same issue. They eventually just gave me $5 off, but not using the official coupon. The employees told me there was some glitch when you subscribe online, and to always do it in store. But who knows if that's just because they wanted commission.

They also told me I couldn't just buy $5 in Xbox/Switch/PSN credit, because that was a custom amount, and I had to do a minimum of $10, that they could then scan off a sheet stuck to the top of the desk, yet a friend told me he's had no problems with $5 eShop credit at the same store, so maybe I just went on a bad day.

Not sure if this would characterize specifically as a deal, but the service GameClub, which is similar to Apple Arcade in that it's a monthly ($5)/yearly ($50) subscription of premium/no-DLC games, does free upgrades if you bought the original games included in its service. As far as I know, none of the games in the service are brand new titles, but many are well-respected games from the beginnings of the app store, 2008-2012 or so. The original versions of many of these games hadn't been updated for 64 bit or current screen sizes.

About half of the games I had previously purchased just showed up as updates/redownloads for me. Some of the games, though, you have to reach out to their customer support either via the website or via a link within the game itself. Once you've downloaded the new version of the game, they can unlock it for you. The service has a pretty decent number/variety of games available, but I owned so many of them outright that it's not the right subscription for me, so it was very nice that they unlocked the copies of the games I owned already.

I went to the Qubic site to download the free game for the day and just an fyi, they have the wrong one free. It’s the one before it. #RaceDieRun should be free, not Rekt.

Pretty sure they're Polish, so if you're on the east coast and checked right when you did the post, it's already after midnight there and so the site flipped. Same thing happened to me a few days ago.

Is 40% off the new 60% off? I’ve been waiting for several games to drop below that and every single sale they hit the same price point.

Try wanting some of the older Sierra games now that Activision owns them. Only 20% off for 20-25 year old point and click Myst clones like Shivers or The Lighthouse
