I lucked out and scored a Shulk and 3 meta knights today. That leaves me with an extra jiggly puff and 2 extra meta Knights to trade.
if people didn't buy every meta knight to trade, people wouldn't have to trade to get one

Nice got the 2 playsets and the raccoon for $42 total and the Collectors Edition a week or two ago from Amazon for $61. So $103 for 11 characters, the 3 level sets, and the big dumb statue isn't bad. It's for my son's birthday but I don't know how much he'll enjoy the super hero stuff so at least I didn't spend too much if he doesn't like it.
I'm still annoyed they went from Pirates/Lone Ranger/Monsters Inc/Incredibles in 1.0 to...this. And from 6 playsets down to 3. What a scam. Hopefully the gameplay is still fun enough.

I just sold a MKX skin on ebay for $38. A good tip is after it is sold, email the buyer and explain that since its risky to sell a digital code, you will only send it AFTER they leave positive feedback saying THEY redeemed it and it worked. If they don't agree, just refund their money , cancel sale and re-list. Never had an issue with ppl refusing to do this and if they do, then they might be trying to scam you.
If I had a seller ask me to do that, I'd report them to ebay right then and there. That makes you seem like the fraudulent one.

I mean if they start to over produce and the stock is there scalpers will buy until they are common then people who actually need or want them get them, then the product is stuck when scalpers are not trying to make a buck on it and Nintendo just spend a shit load of money making these toys for a certain demograph of collectors and then they don't have the money to fund their next first party title.

Nintendo is going to fix the amiibo problem. They will be releasing card versions of each amiibo which they promise will look just as nice on your shelf as the amiibo figures. 3 random amiibo cards per pack for $4.99. Certain amiibo cards will be exclusive to packs sold at stores such as target, toys r us, best buy, & walmart. It is suggested that you pre order these now because once Splatoon releases there is expected to be a large shortage of ink which will reduce the number of amiibo cards available.

I feel like we are gonna hit a Beanie Baby-esque crash soon. Lots of annoyed collectors/casual buyers combined with scalpers/hoarders taking up a huge chunk of rare figure stock ontop of retailers constantly fumbling pre-orders and releases
The Beanie Baby crash was also caused, in large part, by the company's fear in Y2K. (EDIT: Or their playing into fears of Y2K, but I still can't imagine you wouldn't time up ending your money maker with one of the biggest widely-feared End of Days rumors and it not be a coincidence.)
As a kid who would go to the trade shows in 1999, the market was enormous. Then they came out with "The End" bear, and it completely crashed the interest. They tried to bring it back in 2000, and I still went to a "show" a few months later, but it was clear that the damage had been done. Instead of dozens of people trying to sell beanie babies in a hotel conference room, it was two, and most of the ones they were offering--even new and uncommons--were going for much lower than those groups were going for before "The End".
