My massive Mountain View Observatory came in...

Did your order update via S@H or did you get an update from Bricklink? It's still "backordered" for me on S@H and Bricklink has no record of my order at all.

I put together Buzz Lightyear's spaceship the other day. That was a fun build and a real solid model. I still haven't seen the flick, but it's a gorgeous.

I've been waiting for ages now for it to get put on discount so that I can buy like 5 more; it is a fantastic set, but I can't imagine the line performed well considering how lukewarm the reception for the movie was.

The "facade with minfigure accessories" has been a staple, particularly of licensed lines, for a while now. Continuing the long tradition of reusing the same idea across every theme that includes greatest hits like "2-wheeled cart with minifigure," "themed 4-wheeled vehicle for super hero who doesn't need a vehicle," and "themed Ninjago/Superhero mech."

It's lazy AF, but these things must sell well and/or cost practically nothing to design after the first one so Lego keeps rolling them out until the numbers indicate otherwise. They're certainly capable of doing more interesting builds, like the smaller Creator 3-1 buildings, but I assume it's a cost/benefit thing that lends them to be lazy with these licensed sets instead.

I just mute them and fast forward until I see what I want.

Ah, yes, the watching porn with roommates/SO nearby method.

Everything's too damn expensive these days. Hasbro wanting $35 for Marvel Legends, $25 Lego battle packs with < 150 pieces... can't justify the premium for the product we're getting anymore.
