Just did the 10k again on one of my alt accounts, and got the 20k overall again. So if it wasn't supposed to happen that way, still working.

I guess this was totally obvious, but I didn't realize I was getting the 10,000 points from getting achievements then I was getting another 10,000 points for the punch card. Already done this morning because I have a problem and I own all of those Technos NES games they put out last year including the Japanese ones. There are 600 Gamerscore points in each title just for mucking around in the menus for 20-30 seconds.
edit: Talking with some people in Discord, apparently this wasn't the case for the last 10,000 one. So maybe a glitch I got for getting it done so fast...fyi

Oh man guess I get on Pedro now... that seems wrong to type
Yeah 2020 was a weird year, wasn't just in my head I liked the indies last year, now I've got Cyberpunk, Valhalla, CoD Black Ops, and buying Immortals Fenyx rising today so I guess I'm back AAA gaming

Hmmm my gaming was so haphazard this year don't even really have a strong contender of my "Game of the Year". Even last year where my favorite games were all probably in reality 8 out of 10 games like Sekiro, Jedi Fallen Order, Control, Remnant from the Ashes I had pretty strong feelings on them. I can't think of anything like that for me in 2020. Things I really liked in 2020 were on the smaller scale/indie side of things like Carrion stands out. I did do a lot of weird rabbit holes where I was going to complete things on the Xbox 360 that were never going to enter the BC program so I got 100% in Dark Souls 1 and 2 on the 360. I did play through Yakuza 0 and loved it, will never be a 100% there the dancing mini-game is too cruel. I loved it enough though that I bought Yakuza Like a Dragon as my first Series X purchase when my system came in last Thursday, grabbed that and Cyberpunk, and console share partner grabbed Valhalla and COD Black Ops (the "2nd" level looks amazing to me with ray-tracing on) so during the last week of the year started to actually game hard again.
late edit: Forgot Ori and the Will of the Wisps was this year, like right at the cusp of everything going down. If you liked the first it's of course a no brainer... if you didn't like the first, it's more polished but I don't see anything that would make you fan. I loved it. That's probably my GOTY

Merry Christmas!
Ive been playing more DQ11. Thankfully they added the option in the definitive edition to change the world music to the DQ8 theme. It’s a sanity saver. The orchestral version of the DQ11 world theme is an improvement over the original but still way too bombastic and repetitive. The DQ8 theme is so chill.
OMG THANK YOU FOR THIS POST!!!! You might have just saved the game for me.

Good "beat" list The Brief Chef and yeah adonfraz I think Call of the Sea might be slept on. I wasn't sure of it at first same as Doom Eternal but both really growing on me right now. I know a "9" on IGN doesn't mean a whole lot but it did push me through the first bit I was unsure of the game. I do think Carrion was my "surprise" of the year. Ha even got the first completion on TA for Windows 10, I just couldn't stop playing that game and it's only a few hours. So many interesting non "big AAA" games this year so kind of fitting with the Cyberpunk stuff. Sea Salt is another one that caught me this year where at first I was like this could be one of the worst things I've ever played until I started to figure some things out. That said it's still got problems but I got through it.

I personally didn't but my console share partner got an X at both Bestbuy and Walmart, so if both go through and ship. I got one.

Somewhere I heard over the last 48 hours that HBO Max still won't be 4k/HDR on the Xbox or Playstation when WW84 releases. Of course I can't find that info now, so I could be full of shite. I suppose in reality there are plenty of ways around that and I'm sure that won't always be the case.

Signed up. For $19, what the hell? I’ll mess around with it tomorrow. Might as well add PS2 games to the backlog.
Do wonder with the publicity it’s getting, if MS will start to shut it down.
They would have to shut down Windows, they aren't doing that. Have you ever looked at what they let in the regular MS store that isn't "games"

Someone needs to help get me dev access on my Series X...
https://www.eurogame...station-2-games
It's not hard to do, just need to pay the $20 right? This Modern Vintage Gamer vid walks through the steps. The only thing stopping me (when I do get new systems) is the current "home" console setup only lets you change a few times a year right? Not sure how that would work with switching back and forth from Dev mode. The Gamecube stuff is already running really well on the Series S, and I think the PS2 support in Retroarch is only going to get better with time. The Series really is the ultimate backwards compatible machine.

One thing I didn't see in Bloomy's list that's been a bit on my wish list is Namco Museum Archives Vol 1. It's weird thing of NES versions of games, but of interest to me is the 8-bit demake version of Pacman Championship Edition and the weird Splatterhouse NES game we never got in the US.
late edit should have said it's $9.99 down from $19.99
